This is the first book I have read by Kendra and i devoured it!! This is such a cute small town romance. If you’re a sucker for friends to lovers then you will love this book. This book is a dual time line which I also love. I love learning how everything comes together. I can't wait to read more by Kendra! I highly recommend this book!!

Delighted! That's all I can say!

- I could connect to the characters, specially Sylvia. And I have to give it to Kieran for his dedication towards their friendship and Sylvia.
- Loved the alternating chapters between past and present.
- The first part when they were kids was funnier. The last one when they were adults was more emotional. And the middle one when they were teens was a mix of both. Loved all.
- I kinda expected to see Sylvia's parents at the last or how they react to all those things.
- The suspense was the best part. It was literally killing me. I was so impatient to know what exactly happened between them!
- However, it felt like the story was being dragged a little (similar scenes and all). Except that, it was amazing.
- The 'AFTER' part was so sweet and heartwarming!

Wanna eat those cookies Lori made :)

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me an eARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.

4 stars!!!!⭐️

I loved this & normally friends to lovers is not a trope I generally give a decent rating too! so this was definitely a winner!!

I loved joe this story played out between the friends & loved Kieran from the beginning. he was absolutely favorite character. loved seeing him just be into her even after all the time had passed after she left. her character development was great! loved the holiday romance, small town vibes within this story, it was so fitting for the two characters & everything they went through. it felt home-y & charming in all the best ways.

the only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 was bc of the miscommunication…. cliche right? well still can’t stand it most the time. everything would have played out SO differently without the miscommunication!!

but all in all, very fun, quick read. the characters, I loved. & the tropes all meshed together so well!

🍪The vibes:
- Dual timeline
- Friends to lovers
- Restless city girl x small town boy
- Found family

🍪 My thoughts:
Oh my goodness. I loved this one so much.

First of all -the dedication!!!! “For those who found their soulmate not in a whirlwind romance, but in a friend.” I knew I was in for a winner right at page 1.

Ok let’s get into the book. I was so invested that I couldn’t put it down. The whole time I felt like my heart was being yanked around in the best and most heart wrenching way possible. I wanted answers- so I devoured this read. The friendship and chemistry and romance is just top tier. So endearing and heartwarming.

The format of this one (then and now) was so well done. I loved Kieran and Sylvia so much. I loved their journey individually and together. I can’t get into much because I don’t want to spoil anything- but I really loved some of the major themes in the story.

A really nice surprise is that the current timeline of the book takes place during Christmas. Anytime there’s any Christmas setting in a book- I instantly glow a bit more.
All in all- I could rave about this one endlessly. This one felt similar in tone to Love and Other Words. If you liked that one- I think you’ll really enjoy Call You Mine.

Releases September 12.

Every time I opened my Kindle to read the ARC, I was transported to Marshall Falls and I can mentally picture myself sitting in Rose Bakery, a tiny christmas tree at the side, hot chocolate and shortbread cookies on the table, and snow falling outside. Now THIS is what I call a cozy holiday read ✨

The tropes in this 🤌🏻 and the way Kendra absolutely nailed every single one! The writing flow and transition between chapters is seamless that I actually couldn't tell where the story was going (except that it was a HEA lol)

Somewhere between 'before' and 'after', I fell in love with the town and the whole group (but Jenna and Amy are 🫶🏻), and most of all, I loved Kieran and Sylvia because they are flawed and real and just so human.

𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁: It was a carousel ride watching Kier and Sylv grow up and fall in love 🪄

Tropes:
- Childhood best friends
- Dual timeline
- Friends to lovers
- Second chance
- Small town romance
- Soulmates

“𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚, 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚”

Call You Mine is a wholesome love story between two childhood best friends set during the festive period, and it ticked all my boxes. We all know I adore a friends to lovers (especially when he’s literally obsessed with her) and a dual timeline, so I was not at all surprised that I loved this novel by Kendra Mase.

Sylvia and Kieran are such loveable characters that I felt like I was actually friends with them, they are literally the definition of soulmates - and honestly they reminded me of characters in an Emily Henry book. Even though it wasn’t dual POV I feel like Kieran’s voice still shone through, which is very rare from first person narrative and it made the whole book more enjoyable.

I’m not always a fan of the miscommunication trope but I feel like Mase executed it perfectly and with minimum damage which I loved !!

Overall, I had such a fun time reading Call You Mine, it’s such a cute and cosy holiday read which has fully got me in the mood for the colder months! This book will make you want to erase your memory so you can read it for the first time all over again pretty much as soon as you’ve finished it!

A childhood best friends to lovers masterpiece, Kendra Mase ate this trope up and left not a single raspberry cookie crumb for the rest of us... I wanna start off with a thank you to Netgalley and Kendra for the E-Arc and for allowing me to read this book before release day! Kieran and Sylvia were just the most clueless, and sweetest pair of “friends” I have read about. I loved getting to know Kieran and Sylvia's childhood selves, along with their adult selves. Dual timelines are sometimes difficult to maintain but, this book did it beautifully, The timelines overlapped perfectly and I found myself loving comparing the here-and-now situations in between chapters. If you're looking for a small town, best friends to lovers, or second chance romance this book is for you! 5 out of 5 starts with a .5 spice rating.

This book was given to me as an E-Arc to read and review honestly by Netgalley and the author, All words in this review are my own and have not been edited.

This was really sweet. It was like getting your faith back in love again kind of read.

Sylvia & Kieran are what childhood friends to lovers are made of. It was giving all the angst and all the longing with just a touch of hallmark christmas movie magic. I mean one of the things centers on raspberry shortbread cookies, so it has the magic in it.

I think the only issues I had with it were the things I usually have an issue with all of these tropes, is that for people who you tell everything, you sure as shit didn't talk about feelings. I feel like these could all be solved by some therapy and communication (which I'm 100% right about, no one can tell me otherwise). I feel like it was drawn out just enough, and the will they won't they was pretty right.

If you liked some of the classic romances like Love, Rosie or Normal People, I think this is right up your alley. Would definiltey read something from Kendra Mase again.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kendra Mase for an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Best friends to lovers trope with a twist. This was a well written sweet holiday romance. Kieran was my favorite. SylviA was a tad annoying and negative. But she thought she was the best writer ever. Though she redeemed herself in the end. It spans Before when they were kids to Now as adults. Those raspberry cookies sound Divine.

When Sylvia moves to Marshall Falls she never expects to find a best friend in Kieron, who is the son of her mums friend. But the pair form a fast friendship and they become inseparable. That is until Sylvia moves to New York to follow her dream of becoming a writer.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Call You Mine is told from a dual timeline, telling the story of what happened to the pair in the past, whilst also telling the pairs new story in present time. Sometimes I find that this type of storyline is hard to follow with the jumping backwards and forwards but Kendra Mase does this brilliantly and merged both chapters in so they just flow together.

I had such a good time reading this one, I loved how we get to see Sylvia’s and Kieron’s relationship develop and how their connection evolves over time, ultimately coming full circle. My favourite part of Call You Mine was how the story built up as you read it (I just needed to know why they stopped being friends!).

Thank you Kendra Mase and Netgalley for this advanced reader copy of Call You Mine in exchange for my honest review!

This was sweet. I liked hearing about them growing up and then them now. I do wish that the book had been in chronological order though. I feel like going to the past kind of halted the pacing for the present. It was cute that everyone around them thought they were together already.

I received an arc through netgalley.

"Call You Mine" is a really sweet book that warmed my heart.
This was mainly due to the protagonist, Sylvia, the narrator of this story, because I kind of identify with her.
Sylvia is a girl who thinks big, who wants to pursue her dreams and not get stuck in the small town where she grew up. She is convinced that she will be able to achieve all her goals, but she keeps failing. She’s a girl who underestimates herself and she is convinced that her presence is practically irrelevant to others.
Every speech Sylvia made made me cry.
I loved her journey and the fact that, despite everything, she stubbornly continued to follow her path, her only purpose to realize her dream, sooner or later.
Kieran is a sweet boy, always ready to support Sylvia and make her understand how worthy she is. In my opinion his character was somewhat overshadowed by Sylvia’s personality, but I still managed to appreciate him a lot.
Needless to say, I loved the relationship between Sylvia and Kieran.
The story follows two timelines, past and present, and obviously my favorite chapters were those set in the past thanks to which we saw the friendship between Kieran and Sylvia grow and become something more.
I admit that I found the second part of the book a little repetitive, and the cause of the quarrel between the two protagonists is a little weak, but still I really liked the story.
It's a book set in the Christmas season, so it's a perfect reading for the winter, even if it has a very melancholic vibes, but if you like the friends to lovers trope you can not absolutely miss it.

I love a good holiday romance but when it includes my favorite tropes it makes it ten times better.

Sylvia and Kieran captured my heart when they met. I absolutely adored them and their friendship. Their adventures had me laughing and I felt like I was right there with them. Kendra really knows how to create relatable and funny characters that have you hooked from the start.

I wanted to know what happened that kept them apart for so many years.

I absolutely loved the dual timeline. Every time a chapter ended I wanted to know more about what happened in the past because it always ended on cliffhanger.

The bucket list from when they were in high school and a holiday themed bucket list it was everything I could ever want.

The twists had my jaw dropping constantly and also had my heart breaking 🥺❤️‍🩹

Thank you netgalley & kendra mase for the arc! I absolutely loved it 🫶🏼

‧₊˚i was so hooked from the beginning and loved it more and more as i read. you should see the notes in my phone from reading this book. i typically am not the biggest fan of alternating timelines every chapter but this was incredibly well done. each chapter kind of had a cliffhanger and kept me engaged knowing i’ll have to wait a chapter to find out what happened. i adored slyvia and kieran so much. i loved the side characters too- i even grew to love amy. the premise of the plot was so intriguing- childhood best friends that are more like strangers now only for the fmc to return to her hometown for the holidays? sounds exciting and oh it was. i knew i would love this from early on and even messaged the author when i was only a third done to tell her how much i loved this. i was dying to know what happened those years ago that turned these guys into strangers and the reveal did not disappoint. and honestly made me glad that kieran and slyvia didn’t get together all that time ago- they both had so much growing up to do even if they were adults at the time. i also loved the idea and their adventure lists- so cute. kieran and slyvia were totally soulamtes from the moment they climbed the tree together, if only they saw it sooner like literally everyone else did. overall, i loved this book and everyone needs to go read it. there were so many little moments i loved but i don’t want to ramble on about every word in the book!

Call You Mine was such a sweet romance! I had read Kendra Mase before and knew I would love this book! The alternating chapters were great and I loved the writing. The narrative effortlessly weaves between the "Before" and "Now" timelines, beautifully capturing the essence of their close bond and the bittersweet emotions of lost connections. Second chance romances are my favorite and I loved watching these two characters find their way back to each other.
The small-town setting adds a cozy charm to the story, and the holiday backdrop enhances the festive atmosphere. Amidst the Christmas cheer, Sylvia and Kieren's rekindling of their friendship and romance is beautifully portrayed, reminding readers of the power of forgiveness and the magic of love.
I plan on getting a physical copy of this amazing book! I love this book so much!!

When I saw that this was a second chance romance with all the small town and holiday vibes, I was super intrigued and ready to get super cozy while reading. It started off okay enough for me, meeting sweet Kieran, but Sylvia started annoying from her first chapter in the past, and never truly improved for me. She seemed selfish and kinda lazy, wanting to be a famous writer and escaping the small town where she was living, but not actually putting in effort in school to go to the colleges she wanted to attend - and then got mad when Kieran pointed this out to her. There were several moments like this throughout the book where she’d claim she was one thing but all her actions proved the opposite. Her only redeeming quality was that by the end, she was aware of her own actions that played into the fight she has with Kieran, but it was too little too latw for me by that point. There were still plenty of cozy holiday vibes, but it didn’t really make up for the unlikeable main character.

Call You Mine by Kendra Mase was one I could not put down.
This was absolutely delightful. The plot was well-paced and captivating from start to finish. The characters were charming and witty. I really liked the author’s writing style and the characters, both were so charismatic and realistic.

[Rating 4.5 stars]

You have childhood best friends who were inseparable and had always had that “unspoken thing” between them, but neither could admit it. They eventually recognize and reveal their feelings towards one another, however sudden opportunities and their life choices end up separating them apart. The second timeline is the present where the story becomes a second chance romance back in their hometown.

If it were not for my busy holiday weekend, I would’ve easily finished this book in a day. This story was so beautifully written and had me emotionally invested in the small town romance developing between the two characters Sylvia and Kieran. This book will be available on September 12, and I highly recommend picking it up if you’re looking for a heartfelt romance to read, especially for the holidays.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Kendra Mase for the ARC.

I have also shared this review on my goodreads profile as well.
