This is a good book. Leslie North has done it again. The two main characters are Dylan and Charlie. They meet at the stadium, Charlie is a doctor. Charlie is a football player. There is an instant attraction. At the game Charlie gets hurt, so he goes back home to his family ranch. He goes to the hospital to have rehab and finds out his doctor is Dylan. They start dating and fall in love.
In this book, football player Charlie Wild faces a career-threatening knee injury. He meets Dr. Dylan Rose, a sports medicine specialist, who is unimpressed by his playboy reputation. Despite their initial clash, their attraction grows as Dylan becomes Charlie's lead on treatment. Charlie, struggling with his injury and attracted to Dylan, faces difficult choices between his career and their relationship. Their journey involves professional boundaries, public scrutiny, and personal growth, with Charlie eventually realizing the importance of love over football. With the support of his brother Trevor and the backdrop of Wildhorse Ranch, the story navigates themes of redemption and self-discovery. Readers can anticipate an engaging romance with a charming protagonist learning valuable lessons from love and loss.

I skipped ahead and read book 2 in the series. Leslie North is a new author to me. This fun steamy read will make you want to read the entire series.
I was really looking forward to this book, but unfortunately due to an issue with open NetGalley or with kindle the download didn’t go through so unfortunately I don’t have a copy of this book and I can’t read download it as it’s been too long so unfortunately I cannot leave a review for this book, but I was really looking forward to it in a premise that sounds absolutely amazing
The second book in this series has the football brother Charlie Wild getting injured and then being so full of himself not expecting that the woman who is at the meeting after his surgery could be a woman. Dylan Rose is a top surgeon and is upset with him his agent and just about everyone around when money is being thrown around for areas in the hospital that don’t need it but where it should go like to the children's orthopedic that is left out. Charlie does give money later and helps with the children but I found myself being frustrated with this character more and more as the story went along. I have two knee surgeries after tearing my patella, MCL, and meniscus but this character is frustrating. Especially the liberties he had taken with as to her career especially how difficult it still is for women in the job force. I know that it is just a book but being a father of four girls and a grandfather of another girl it was just frustrating. Good story otherwise.
Wild Heart was a great read, it was romantic and steamy. It was quite a short book but I loved every bit of the relationship between the American footballer and the doctor.
I don’t think there was that much chemistry between Charlie and Dylan like there was between Trevor and Sabrina. And I honestly expected some easter eggs about Trevor and Sabrina, but it prompted they were not in such a serious relationship. But other than these I enjoyed the story. Charlie’s golden retriever-like personality made it a fun read. I liked how eventually Charlie turned out to have a big heart and sense of purpose. Dylan’s devotedness to her profession was admirable. She and Charlie made a good team.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the book.

Wild Heart is a short and cute romance. It has sports, it has cowboys, it has a small town, it has spice... the vibes are right. If this book were longer, I feel like I could have given it 5 stars. We see glimpses of the MMC's depth but there just aren't enough words to fully go into his struggles and what made him into the person he is today. I would definitely read a part 2 that went deeper for both MCs!
After reading the other books I had to get this one. They are all great in their own way. This was another great book and I had to read it. You will love it too.
This was my first read by Leslie North. I really enjoyed this book! I can't wait to read more from her in the future.
I enjoyed Wild Heart by Leslie North. This book is a solid entry in the Leslie North portfolio. The story is a good one, although done before. Charlie is a professional football player, Dylan is his doctor. The attraction they have for each other is strong. While I enjoyed the book, it as predictable several times and I also thought Dylan forgave way too fast sometimes. Other than that, a solid read.
Wild Heart is a very captivating story with sexy, swoony characters and fantastic writing! Definitely a book and the series worth reading.
Solid romance with good character development. Very fun premise and love a smart female lead! Would recommend this series to any romance reader.
Wild Heart by Leslie North is such a easy read. The book got me hooked up from chapter 1. The book got a plenty of flirting scenes, a little of angst and and a beautiful happy ending. Since the book only have about 12 chapters, reader might find the storyline are fast paced.
I love Dylan, even though Charlie are so charming, she are strict with her doctor and patient relationship. Although, with the increasing sexual tension, Dylan dan Charlie can't keep hands off each other.
This book are well written story with an interesting storyline. I'll definitely be reading more from Leslie North and I'm looking forward to read the next story.
An uncomplicated romance. No angst, no cross words, just two people falling for each other. There is almost a yearning for something to go wrong with some jealous scenes just on the cusp of starting something but nothing brews. A gentle falling in love.
3.5/5 stars
2/5 spice
A quick read that has a fun plot with very little conflict and some good spice.
Tropes:
Sports romance
Doctor/patient
Forced proximity
No third act breakup
Dual POV
Although the story was short, a good amount of time passed by in the plot that the love story didn't feel too much like insta-love. I wasn't a big fan of Charlie in the beginning because he was really laying on thick his "playboy" persona. I liked him more as he started to show his deeper and softer side. If he hadn't shown that side he would have been all wrong for Dylan. Dylan was a confident and strong character. She definitely held her own against the "mans world" mentality of the sports scene. She stayed consistent throughout the story but it would have been nice to hear more of her background.
This is an open door romance so you get some spice with 2 full scenes. There is a slight build up in tension, but I personally think there could have been more.
Overall, a quick read that can be read as a standalone. I would recommend for people who like sports romances with a little country vibe.
Thank you to Netgalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and offered freely.
Trigger/Content warnings:
Injury, mentions terminal illness, death of a child (past tense), sexual content, explicit language
I enjoyed reading, Wild Heart. There was just one small thing that I didn't like. Charlie refers to his brothers as half brothers in the beginning of the book a number of times. Who does that unless there is bad blood between them. All of my siblings are half siblings but they are still my brothers and sisters.
Charlie is supposed to be a wild ladies man that is caught in a bad light before his accident. He doesn't come off that way to me. I like that about him, it shows that he can be changed. Dylan is a no nonsense sports medicine doctor. She tells it like it is but can also be a team player. Just what Charlie needed.
Book 2 in the Wildhorse Ranch Brothers series is about Charlie Wild, an injured football star who comes back to the family ranch to recuperate. The plot wasn't quite as fun-loving as the first book, but it was double the spice. This one was less cowboy and more sports romance set on a ranch, which was okay, but not what I was hoping for.
It's another short one that can be read in one sitting.
Quick Summary: A sporty, hot and bothered romance
My Review: Wild Heart by Leslie North is book two in the Wildhorse Ranch Brothers series.
About the Book: Charlie Wild and Dylan Rose met entirely by accident. Little did either of them know that they would soon cross paths in a more professional capacity. Would their close proximity and intimate play jeopardize their positions, or would it provide a means to score a relationship touchdown for the win?
My Final Say: This book was a quick and easy read. It had the right amount of tension, the right amount of anticipation, and the right amount of heat. Readers who enjoy sports-themed love stories will cheer for this novel.
