Kate Burkholder is back. She and her boyfriend, John Tomasetti are taking some time off for a mini vacation. Once they arrive at the B&B, they are told by the owners that the place is haunted. Supposedly, years ago one of the guests, Angela Blaine disappeared. Everyone in town believes her boyfriend at the time, Tucker Miles had something to do with Angela’s disappearance.

Even though Kate and John are on vacation, they soon find themselves caught up in the case and wanting to solve it. They will soon discover that some things are best left alone.

In anticipation of Linda’s newest, Her Last Breath I decided to read this short story. I love Kate. She and John make a good couple. Sadly due to the case their relationship did not move much further in this short story. I hope that it progresses in the latest book. I thought that this story was milder. There was no big gruesome murder. This was more of a cold case. A quick, good read.
