Unfortunately, as much as I love this topic and consider it to be important, I wasn't a fan - 3 stars.
The book started interesting with some engaging ideas and real-life stories as examples, but in the middle turned into a very typical and no different from other books' checklist with points that go without saying. And it wouldn't be even a bad thing if suggestions on implementation of those points weren't lacking creativity and actual care about what people working for the company need or will find valuable.
I can assume Chris Dyer loves trying to guess someone's coffee order and presenting the best performer with this cup of coffee as the highest appreciation coming from Mr. Dyer, but coming from marketing and being a manager of multiple teams, I know this idea is as lame as giving your team member gift card for $5, but now they need to drink this coffee not to hurt your feeling and most probably you got their order wrong.
The first 30% of the book was fine, from around 50% couldn't wait to finish it, and even turning text into audio didn't help - it was exhausting to listen to.

The Power of Company Culture was a great accumulation of knowledge and research related to Company Culture. As an HR Director, I found so much value in this book and will be having some hard conversations with leadership over the next month on some things I think we need to improve. I fell that this book is a great introduction and could benefit small business owners or company's with a small leadership team.
The writing at times was repetitive and I would have loved a few more real-world examples to some of the repetitive explanations of some of the pillars. I did love the layout of the book and I took so many notes and highlighted so many things to come back to.
Overall, I recommend this book as an entry level read into company culture. If you have an understanding of culture, engagement and retention tools, then this book might not be for you. Will be recommending to some of my colleagues and leadership team!
