4.5 stars!!!
The story follows Tilly who is in love with her best friend but that best friend recently got engaged. So she decides to team up with the bride's ex-boyfriend to break the engagement. However, as she gets close to Zack, she realizes there are more layers in him than his rough exterior.
I usually don't read books with this type of storyline where the girl is pinning for someone else BUT I am so glad I decided to pick this one. It was so good. The story was well executed.
Tilly's character development was done so well and Zack!!! One can see that he was a goner for Tilly from the beginning. I love how their relationship developed and there was no miscommunication between them.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me an ARC of this book!!

There are 3 things you should know before: First, Tilly is a bad liar. Then, she thinks she’s in love with her best friend. And now, she has a plan to ruin his wedding.

What does she do next? She made a pact with Zack, a grumpy plumber who is secretly a cinnamon roll and was her best friend’s fiance's ex-boyfriend!

But the more she interferes with the wedding and the closer she gets to Zack, the more confusing Tilly’s feelings become. Can she finally untangle the knot of the messy relationship between friendship and love?

Charming, Hilarious & definitely a page turner ✿ A romcom full of drama and a spicy slow burn I could never get over with.

At first, it was hard to like Tilly as she stubbornly tried to do anything to ruin the wedding. But as the story goes her character develops wonderfully. Overall, It was a great process of self-discovery and might be my favorite part of the book 💗

Now, let’s talk about Zack! He truly is my type of guy—hard worker, witty, sweet, and supportive. Plus he makes you waffles and rides a big motorcycle y’all (one of my favorite scenes includes that midnight motorcycle ride) 🤩 I went laughing then swooned over him and his chemistry with Tilly ✨

Although it was hard to like most of the characters at first, I could see that the author wants to highlight how realistic they are (especially when they’re involved in a toxic relationship). I think I like the way Sophie creates a pace to slowly develop themselves to be better & learn how to give others a personal space to grow.

It is my first Sophie Andrew’s book and I could tell that I’m (definitely) going to read her other books!

If you are into a partner-in-crime trope with grumpy but sweet ML, plus a high-tension slow burn then you might have to pick this book up on September 15th! 🔥
. . .
p.s. Thank you NetGalley and Victoria Editing for sending me this ARC 💗

Tilly is a lot of fun, she's kind of crazy but I love her. Her and Zack have instant chemistry and I really enjoyed it. He was able to understand who she is so quickly and it just worked so well.

I received an arc through netgalley.

a nice romcom for all the book girlies who love the lumberjack vibe. not my case unfortunately and the same height thing turned me off but I still had a good time overall!

let's start with the positive : nice side characters and back story for her, not so muck for him tho, his past was brought up once or twice. the flirting was ok, the little tension when you know he wants her but still helps her go after her crush was fun.

"This is what you wanted, isn't it?"
.
I had some trouble with her cringey lines and attitude, also how self centered the whole premise - and her - is, despite her usually sacrificing so much of herself for others. the reveal to the bff was awful to witness, like girl pick yourself up you brought it on yourself 🙏

"I, on the other hand, ate everything on my plate and drank free champagne whenever it was offered."🤪
.
strong pick me, not like other girls vibes at the beginning but I was glad to see she slowly overcame that, although she remains "one of the boys" until the end.

"Everything we needed to talk about would have to wait. [...] I kissed my apology into the sensitive part of his throat"
.
😃ummm major communication issues guys 🥰 the big talk HAS to take place and she just had a 48 hour breakdown, maybe keep your clothes on and TALK like civilized human beings??

"I should move in with him."
.
🚩 moving in with a guy you met 6 months ago and have been dating for like 2 months is, in fact, a chronically new romance activity. please don't do that irl that's mental illness

and finally, my favorite line ever and a personal life motto : "That was one of his best qualities, his height."🙌 preach (with it was about the MMC tho)

This was a quick and funny read that I felt could be turned in to a movie because come on who doesn't enjoy watching a movie where someone is planing to ruin a best friends wedding like the movie My best friends wedding starring Julia Roberts.

This was my first time reading anything by Sophie Andrews and based on this book experience it isn't gonna be the last.

So if you want a funny, quick and kinda romantic book then this one might actually be a good fit.

This is such a well-written, entertaining story.

In her author bio, it states, "Sophie Andrews is a contemporary romance author who writes steamy books that will leave you smiling." And that is basically how I feel after reading this book. It was the much needed awwww after a rough day, the sweet characters that have laugh out loud moments, and generally like the Hallmark movies that Tilly's parents love-- addictive and heartening. And seriously, thank goodness there was accountability for bad friending.

I'm already looking forward to her next one.

I was excited about this one based on the blurb alone, but enjoyed this one even more than I expected to. I am a huge fan of a friends to lovers arc, and this one was done masterfully. I absolutely adored Zach as a character and thought Tilly was an extremely well developed strong lead. With the background of wedding antics, and fun "My Best Friend's Wedding" tie ins, this one was a very fun read.

Enjoyed this so much! My best friend's wedding vibe with a twist. Kept me entertained and turning pages all book long. And just enough spice to not be boring!

Tilly has always loved Tyler, having been friends since they were little kids. Yet when Tyler announces his engagement to Sarah, Tilly decides that she must sabotage their engagement. She decides to enlist Zack to help as he is Sarah’s former boyfriend. What follows, is an entertaining read.
I thought that the foreword said it all as this book was a more interesting version of ‘My best friend’s wedding’. As Tilly and Zack become more than just accomplices in sabotaging the wedding, I enjoyed seeing them so at ease with each other. As they grow to know each other, they become more confident in themselves. I really loved this book and many of the secondary characters.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

How to Ruin a Wedding is the first book that I have read by Sophie Andrews and it won’t be the last. How to Ruin a Wedding is a romance story about a young woman who is determined to make sure her best friend doesn’t marry someone else. But then she realizes that he is happy and she is falling for someone else, so she decides to stop trying to sabotage his wedding. But is it too little too late? Read How to Ruin a Wedding to find out.
I loved this story and getting to know these great characters and highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romance full of very relatable characters.

I absolutely loved this book I could not put it down! I loved the how real this book seemed to real life couples with there ups and downs. I personally really liked Tilly’s character development from forming the opinion of her being selfish earlier in the book to changing my opinion and having her as my favorite mature character in the book. Overall loved this book and can’t wait to read more books from this author

This was a quick, fun, light read, though it had some deep issues that were also well discussed. I hated the main character for most of the book, but the story wrapped up nicely.

4.5! I really really really loved this. The story was unique and Zack and Tilly’s chemistry was insane. Till is incredibly relatable and very intentionally herself, yet still has these insecurities creeping under the service. Zack was just so kind and gentle with her and always made sure she understood what he was feeling and where he was at. He would deny it but he is a romantic at heart. They were both very straight forward with each other and tried their best to honestly communicate with each other because what they felt was too important to mess up. I loved how protective they were of each other. Honestly this really took me by surprise while I was interested when I read the blurb about it, I hadn’t expected to love it so much.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this Arc in exchange for an honest review.

I feel that I have a love hate relationship with this book, I love that it’s based on My Best Friends Wedding as it’s one of my favourite rom coms so was instantly invested in this story however it somehow fell flat in parts. I wanted more drama and mischief as they tried to ruin the wedding but instead got a slow burn romance and the main plot of the book was forgotten (I know this was a plot point of the book) but I still wanted some chaos.

It was still an enjoyable read and enjoyed that it wasn’t a complete happily ever after but part of me just wanted more. I would still recommend for anyone to read and would say it’s a good beach/quick read as has a good paced story.

If you love the movie My Best Friend's Wedding, you'll love How to Ruin a Wedding from Sophie Andrews!!

I didn't want to put it down and read this in record time. It made me laugh and cry.

Tilly was amazing, I loved the lengths she went to in order to break up her best friend's wedding. She was funny, compassionate, and just a great character. I couldn't love her more.

There's a lot of potential here for a couple more books with secondary characters, it could be amazing.

I don't want to share too many details, because I'm not a fan of spoilers and refuse to give any hints. Just take my advice and go get this one. I'll be adding a physical copy to my collection.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy for my honest review.

Right when I read this was inspired by My Best Friend’s Wedding, I knew instantly this was going to be a book I loved, and Sophie did not disappoint.

The FMC’s inner dialogue is absolutely hilarious! She had me laughing with her catty and witty comments.

Similar to the movie, you have best friends that everyone always assumed would eventually be together. However, that's not the case. Tilly sees her best friend Tyler going off with a girl she just assumed would be another fling. Come to find out, they’d be engaged 3 months later and are soon to be married.

Being absolutely devastated, Tilly decides this wedding needs to be sabotaged because Tyler can’t possibly marry someone else. She’s in love with him. So what is her resolve?

She finds the bride Sarah’s ex boyfriend, and persuades him to conjure up a scheme to not only sabotage the wedding, but to break up the couple so they can have their respected partners back.

This feel good romance was equal parts hilarious and heartfelt.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Sophie Andrews for the ARC. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Super cute story and a very fun read. If you didn't like Julia Roberts in My Best Friend's Wedding, you'll hate the main character of this book. She's not super likable but has a full character arc where she learns her lesson and has a break through.

I loved the banter but the romance felt rushed to me. I also despised Tyler and Sarah - ugh. They were obnoxious.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Publishing for sharing an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

Although this book was inspired by the movie My Best Friends Wedding, it is a very different story and I enjoyed reading it a lot more than I expected to. It is a fun and fast paced tale of unrequited love, but it didn’t unfold the way I thought it would, with Tilly ending up with the best friend; and once he came on the scene, I quickly grew invested in Tilly and Zach's relationship. I also loved that their idea of love and romance was looking forward to the ordinary day-to-day things in life - which is a refreshing perspective for a romance novel. I’m not completely in agreement that Tilly should have felt the need to be overly honest about her machinations for no apparent reason though - I don’t think Tyler needs to know about Tilly’s initial plan to ruin his wedding - I would have definitely kept quiet about that plan!

Overall, this story is compellingly cute and relatable - not quite a five star read, but not far off either. Thanks to NetGallery and Victory Editing for allowing me to get an early copy of this book, which is available on September 15, 2023. Highly recommended.
