Unfortunately, I was not a big fan of this book nor would I feel good about sharing it with others. I found some of the language to be a bit concerning, and the characters were overall unlikeable.
LOVED the cover. This made me think of fun and perfect to beat the winter in Minnesota.
I thought the execution fell flat. The characters were one dimensional and hard to cheer for. I couldn't get myself into the book.
Thank you Netgalley and Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing, MTV Books for the advanced reader copy.
DNF at 35% because I genuinely could stand any of the characters. Look we all did some crazy things in our early 20s but basically stalking your ex to another country is beyond. Her ex is an ass and clearly is not that into her beyond her body. The new guy is a bit too heavy handed. Everyone is just too young and acts it. I’ve read a lot of college romances and still felt I could connect with the younger characters even in my 30s but I couldn’t connect with these. The writing style wasn’t terrible though and I think I could enjoy the author if the characters were a bit older and less crazy. I’m bummed I wasn’t a fan because Forgetting Sarah !arsenal is my comfort movie!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.
Thank you to NetGalley and MTV Books for the opportunity to read and review an advance copy of this book.
So awful I didn't even get to page 50. The cover and description made me want to read this. How very misleading. When the racist remarks started in chapter 2, that was pretty much it for me. Would give zero stars if I could.
I love to read books with likable characters in the romance (or at least growth). I found the characters to be not great. Its a major red flag when a girl isn't a girls girl.
The Breakup Vacation is a romance book that focuses on friendships. Grace and her friends go on a vacation to Cancun to help Grace with her breakup. The book had good characters and was a cute romance book that was a easy read. I enjoyed this book didn't love it but still was a great book to read and would recommend this book to others especially if they like romance books. Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for this ARC read in exchange of my honest review.
Only read the first few chapters, but enjoyed the writing immensely, the story just wasn't for me. I can still think of at least ten people I'd recommend it to though, so giving five stars!

As much as I wanted to love this book based on the cover, the description, and just all-around wanting a good rom-com to read, my expectations were not met. Unfortunately, this book is not one I will remember besides the fact that I will let my friends know not to read it. The characters fell short, the plot was bland and Grace was insufferable. She’s childish, and the things she does would not work in real life, this went well beyond what a typical rom-com would be, and it didn’t work well at all. The author knows how to draw in readers with her book synopsis, but I believe most readers will be disappointed once they start reading. These characters did not seem like they were in college, and they lived this life that seemed fake, and in a fantasy world, with no consequences for their actions. I have had a book where I completely do not connect with the characters.
I requested this ARC with high hopes. After reading other reviews on Goodreads and attempting to start this, I had to put it down. The characters were one dimensional, and the beginning ended up being very hard to get through.
Thank you for the ARC NetGalley and MTV books.
This was a fun, light read! The location of the girls trip was fun although the characters were slightly insufferable. Their personalities were hard not to cringe at. I did enjoy the sense of identity discovered by the main character Grace and I hope this helps her to be less annoying.
Based on the synopsis and the cover, I figured this would be a nice, cute read. Unfortunately, I had to DNF this book. I just didn't like the main character. This was also far too YA for my tastes. Having said that, I am rating the book 3 stars because, while it wasn't the book for me, it might be the perfect book for someone else.
Thank you to NetGalley & Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing for the E-ARC

Such a fun summer read!! Loved the character development and the complexities of the relationship. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone in need of a beach read next summer!
This book was such a severe let down for me. The cover? Stunning! The description? Perfect! The story and execution of said description? Extremely lacking. The FMC Grace was an unbearable, NOT a girl’s girl brat. It took everything I had to finish this book honestly. If it was only Grace I had an issue with, then I could probably have just gotten past it, but none of the characters really had any depth to them. I had so many questions that were never answered. Examples: Why did Grace even love Josh so freaking much? A six month relationship that constituted her stalking the boy all the way to Cancun? What was so special about him? And later on, What on God’s green earth did Daniel even see in Grace? Her and her friends were practically drunk or getting drunk the entire book. The girl characters hit like stereotypical rich girls. If I don’t find at least one character to root for and love in a book, then it’s a lost cause for me. This book didn’t give me the Forgetting Sarah Marshall or the Girls Trip vibes I was promised in the description.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from NetGalley. This review is honest, unbiased, and completely my own.
I really wanted to love this book and thought the synopsis was good. However it fell a little flat for me.
This is the most perfect book for a summer getaway to read laying by the pool. This is a new adult, college aged, romance. Who in their 20's didn't have a ex that we wanted to get back with, and the best girlfriends that you could ask for that are there through think and thin. This was a great read and I highly enjoyed it.
I just reviewed The Breakup Vacation by Anna Gracia. #NetGalley

The main characters, while colorful, feel a bit one-dimensional. Grace is very selfish and a terrible friend for almost the entire book, Tiff's wealth takes center stage too often, and Camille needs more personality. I was not a fan of the frequent, harsh arguments between friends, there were things said that went way too far.
There are also a lot of moments where the characters touch on real issues in the world, and it was handled well. That being said, there are also quite a few moments where I felt it was not handled well at all. I won't elaborate there, I don't have personal experience with the issues that were discussed, so I feel I don't know how to explain it with the grace it requires. I just found myself going "Are you serious?" and "Girl, read the room." a lot.
But the book finds its groove with the romance. Grace and Daniel's chemistry sizzles, and their banter is a delight. The romance was very rushed, I believe they were only in Cancun for five days, but I could see the potential there. Grace finally owning up to her mistakes in the end is satisfying, even if it takes a while.
Overall, this was a fun, short read. I feel like it could've been executed better, but it was easy to read. I believe this is meant to be a series eventually, and I would be open to reading the next book with the hopes of overall improvement and more dynamic, mature characters.
Oh no. I unfortunately did not end up enjoying this one and had to dnf. The main character was quite insufferable, and i gave it a try until i eventually had to give up halfway through. I just simply couldn’t read about her anymore. The ya vibe was also not compelling, a factor i did not know going into this story. Maybe that’s where the interstellar would be more centered towards.
The Breakup Vacation has easily become one of my favorite contemporary reads. Full of believable characters (and a few assholes) Anna Gracia has written a girls trip from anyone's college days. Trying to get back with your (asshole) ex, and finding husband material in the meantime... makes for some delicious drama. Also, I need more Daniel... like STAT...
Thank you netgalley
UGH I wanted to love this. The cover and synopsis had me super engaged, and I love a story about best friends in light of a breakup.
But after that...its really kind of an absolute trainwreck. Josh sucks. Boob punching. Really shallow 'french woman' motifs. Oh yeah...Grace is the lead who also really REALLY sucks.
I was waiting for the big character driven redemption arc / character change that typically comes at the end of a book. Nope
Not a fan at all.
The summary sounded like this would be a fun read, but it is just not for me. I didn’t like the characters or the content, so I chose to DNF at around 40%.
