I love Mariana Zapata and her slow burns and this one was amazing! Aurora (sorry, I couldn’t get behind the nickname Ora lol) was so freaking awesome. I admired her from the get go for taking charge of her life after being used for the decade prior. I also really enjoyed that we see her a year and a half out so it felt natural for her to be ready to move on from such a long lasting relationship in her life.
Rhodes was so great too. I loved his and Amos and their unique father/son relationship and how he was such a grump except around them (eventually, it was not a great start lol)
There’s so much more to the story than just their romance. This is a book about love yes, but familial love as well as romantic, and grief, and moving on. I loved it all so much!
5⭐️ this book is so dang beautiful and I just love Aurora and Rhodes🫶🏻 Not a huge fan of the new cover though but the book itself is perfection!
This is such a great book and one of my favorite MZ books. The slow burn, the gruff alpha male, the sweetness of Aurora, and the interference of Amos, the outdoors.... yes please!
MZ consistently writes the best slow burns and I will read whatever she writes. Every minute reading this book, was a delight and a joy.
The bonus content was also so fun and I loved it.
4.5 stars rounded down. Non-traditional families and mental health are two elements that add depth to this slow-burn romance with a touch of spice. Starting over after the end of a 14 year relationship, Aurora De La Torre returns to the small Colorado tourist town where she lost her mother. Armed with her mother's journal, she's decided to attempt the list of hikes her motherg best friend is a solid step in her healing process, her game warden landlord may be a major distraction.
Oh my god, this book. These characters. This world. I read it so fast because I couldn’t help myself, but I wish I could go back and savor it, reading it for the first time. You can’t think about author Mariana Zapata without “slow-burn”, and it’s what makes Ora and Rhodes’s love story so satisfying.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
Such a good emotional rollercoaster of a read. Slow burn, emotional, hits you right in the feels. This was my first book by Mariana and will definitely not be my last!
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I knew what I was getting into with a Mariana Zapata book, she's known for her slow burns and man, this was no exception. I feel like this book was a little too long and some of the scenes began to feel repetitive, especially when talking about the store or the FMC's ex throughout the book. I enjoyed watching the FMC's grief journey and how she found people to lean on in that time. Something else that I didn't love was the miscommunication conflict near the end. I understand that books need conflict but this one felt so silly and was resolved so quickly that it almost felt unnecessary.
Ultimately, I'm just being nitpicky, I really enjoyed this story. I think the only thing keeping this from a 5 star for me was how repetitive it felt and how some scenes felt drawn out for length when they didn't need to be. Also, I know it's not Mariana's style to write dual POV but I would've died for Rhodes POV.
This is one of my favorite books by Mariana Zapata and one I had read many times before. This is a new edition of the book with some additions near the end, that provided closure to some important events. I thought it was a very welcome improvement and enjoyed reading this book all over again.
Aurora De La Torre is one of the main characters and one of my favorite book heroes. She has just been betrayed by her longtime and famous boyfriend at the urging of his controlling sister. Aurora decided to return to the place that she had last seen her mother, so she booked an apartment. Her mother had gone for a hike and never returned, many years before. When she arrived at her rental, she had an unpleasant surprise. The owner had no knowledge of the booking - his minor son had made it without his permission.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance. No matter how many times I have read it cover to cover, I fall in love with the characters and the story all over again.
I received an e-ARC of this book from author Mariana Zapata and publisher Avon and Harper Voyage via NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed it.
Ahh, Mariana Zapata, Queen of the Slow Burn, and one of the only authors who makes me enjoy it. For how long this book is, I zoomed right through it. Rhodes is most definitely a man of very few words and lots of glares, and I found myself wondering just how he and Ora were supposed to get together if they barely talked. And yet they eventually made it there. Loved Rhodes, Ora, and Am so much, plus all of Ora's super awesome friends!!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my thoughts.
while this was not a bad book by any means, it was not the right book for me personally. while I love a good slow burn romance, this one was too slow for my tastes - as are the other Zapata romances I have read. the couple had chemistry, the narrative flowed naturally, and the romance earned my love easily. but that chemistry, narrative, and romance struggled to hold my interest for the hundreds of pages of build up without any sense of a return on my emotional investment.
I've determined that while Zapata books are great for most people's reading tastes, they aren't great for mine, and that is totally okay!
I am and will always be a Mariana Zapata sports romance stan, so I was so excited to get my hands on All Rhodes Lead Here. This one was a little bit different. As Aurora returns to her small hometown in Colorado to start over, we see her rebuild her life. She reconnects with her childhood best friend and builds new relationships with her neighbors, Rhodes, and his teenage son. She is completely starting over and has to find a new routine. I have never been much of a mountain girl, but the way Zapata described the small Colorado town had me ready to pack my bags. Aurora spends a lot of time hiking as a way to reconnect with her past. The scenery was described in such a compelling way, and that time was such a huge part of her journey.
Once again, this book provides a perfect slow burn that Mariana Zapata pulls off like no one else. Along with that, slowly understanding Aurora’s background sets this book apart. We not only see how the relationship she recently got out of affects her but also her relationship with her mother and having to leave her hometown as a child. Aurora’s past experiences give her an incredibly unique perspective. I enjoyed piecing together what happened to her because it was not what I was expecting.
While still a classic Mariana Zapata romance, this story was unique in so many ways. Just a truly solid romace that doesn't try to check boxes like some other romance novels do; this book is a nice change of pace.
I love Mariana Zapata's brand of slow burn romances and this one was supposed to be my new favourite. unfortunately for some reason this one just dragged and made me lose the emotional connect I had established with the characters. I would still recommend it for the amazing grumpy x sunshine feel good romance but just be prepared to wait for the slowburn to finally pay off and lots of angst and yearning in between.
Rating : 3.5 stars
Marian is the Queen of slowburn. Aurora and Rhodes relationship as an older love II defeat is refreshing.
This was so freaking good. The romance is definitely a slow burn. Like, the slowest. But this book is about more than romance. It’s about independence and grief and friendships. Rhodes is hot AF and Aurora is so lovable and admirable. I don’t like characters who cry a lot and she cried a ton but mostly from happiness and gratitude which was refreshing. Have some tissues handy. Big thank you to NetGalley for a digital copy.
I wasn't sure about this book when I started. It's the first I read by the author and I didn't realize she was known for slow burn grumpy/sunshine romance. The story started picking up though and I was hooked by the end. I wasn't sure at first about Ora, she seemed younger than her age. But pieces slowly fit together and she made a lot more sense as time went on. Basically a broken hearted Aurora sets out to make a home for herself, renting an Airbnb in her hometown. While there were some heavier moments, it overall was a ray of sunshine, which was just what I needed.
Thank you Avon and Netgalley for the ARC!

All Rhodes Lead Here is a smoldering, slow burn romance. No one writes slow burn, grumpy sunshine like Mariana Zapata! Rhodes is a sexy, silver fox with little to say. Aurora is a vulnerable piece of sunshine, even through her trauma. When she ends up in his garage apartment, curtesy of his son, he is not happy about it. But the next few months show him just how nice it can be to let someone in.
I love Aurora. I appreciated that she was confident in who she was, even after all she had gone through. I enjoyed her chatty nature and positive attitude. I also loved watching Rhodes icy exterior slowly melt under her sunshine. I am such a sucker for the grumpy love interest who takes care of the main character. The way he cared for her and took care of her from early on was so adorable! I also appreciated how fleshed out the side characters were. It felt like they all could have easily had their own stories written about them. (I'm not sure if Zapata has written books about any of the side characters, but I would totally read them if she has.)
Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I got giggly every time Rhodes would call her Angel, or do something sweet for her. The slow burn was really slow. But it was well paced. It built up nicely and gave you more and more as you went. My one complaint is that there was no spice. I LOVED The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. I felt like the heat in that one was right up my alley. This one was definitely a sweet story. But if you're looking for those spicy scenes, skip this one.
Overall, a bomb ass read. Definitely worth checking out!
I received an ARC of this from the publisher. :)
She has done it again! I think I would read Mariana Zapata’s grocery list if I could. I was obsessed while reading this and quite literally could not put it down. The characters, the small town, and just the overall vibe of the book just really did it for me.
The tropes were top-tier, and nobody writes a slow burn like MZ. And don’t even get me started on Rhodes. I love that man. He is the prime example of someone who, if he wanted to, he would. This book was the epitome of grumpy sunshine, and I LOVED it! She just really does a great job at fully developing a realistic story with characters that you grow attached to. As readers, we can really see Aurora grow into the person she’s meant to be, along with her developing friendships with all of the other characters in the book. I could just really feel the emotional connection between everyone, and I feel like that was what made the book.
Overall, this is now one of my new Mariana Zapata favorites. After reading a bunch of her books, her writing just keeps getting better and better. I will always pick up whatever she writes. You could just feel the love between all of the characters and the found family in this. It just made my heart melt. I would recommend this book!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC of the rerelease of the book in return for an honest review!
Obsessed!
I love everything about this damn book! Like literally this book made me SWOON 🥰
The characters in this book were everything! I loved Aurora's personality - she was genuine, down to earth, and hilarious. And Rhodes was a wholesome mountain man. He was grumpy, level headed, humble, and protective. And he easily made his way up on my book boyfriend list❤️🔥
I also really adored Amos, his relationship with Aurora, and the portrayal of their non-traditional family!
I honestly don't know how to explain how much I loved this book - but it felt comforting.
Not only was this book about falling in love but also about finding love within yourself!
I discovered this author recently through "The Wall of Winnipeg and Me," which I loved so much I had to see what other titles were available! This one did not disappoint! I love realistic fiction AND romance and this provided both - the characters have real problems and struggles, but they also fall in love. My favorite combo! The author did an excellent job of connecting all the plot points and I felt like the story wrapped up nicely. Loved the bonus content at the end too - perfectly done!
All Rhodes Lead Here is sure to leave a smile on your face. We meet Rhodes, the ultimate silver fox grump, and the bright ray of sunshine is Aurora. They are complete opposites in many ways but their gentle love story is built through action and learning to trust each other. I love the element of having Rhodes' son, Amos, in the story. He adds a level of care between Aurora and Rhodes by being the first thing they both bond over and care about. Truly one of the sweetest love stories I've read this year.
