This was a fun and quick holiday romance from Lucy Score. It is probably best read after Mr. Fixer Upper since the universes overlap. Read if you enjoy:
- Enemies to lovers
- Small town romance
- Single dad romance

Cat King is a celebrity home renovator who has returned to Merry, Connecticut after a late season hurricane destroys the town making their annual Christmas Festival unable to go on. Cat has history with the town so returns after the storm to help rebuild and shoot a Christmas special. Too bad grumpy town manager Noah Yates is dead set on keeping Cat and her crew out, worried they’ll exploit his grieving neighbors. When Cat’s budget and promises convince Noah to give her a shot, he starts to realize she isn’t who he first thought she was. They start to warm up to each other and then things really heat up!

I really enjoyed the small town component of the story with its characters and found family. I thought the initial animosity between Cat and Noah dragged on a but too long in the beginning but once they thawed toward each other I really started enjoying the story. And no third act break up! Hooray!

Content flags: Noah’s father was abusive and left his family when Noah was a child; near drowning mentioned in the prologue during the hurricane; Noah is divorced but amicably coparents with his ex wife

I voluntarily read a gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Cat and her brother Gannon have a reality tv show where they go and fix and rebuild places and homes. When Noah's town is hit by a hurricane there needs to be a lot of work done, but that the last thing he wants is a tv show getting in the way. Cat is bound and determined to fix the town in time for Christmas, and she butts heads with Noah a lot. Fun read, and one I highly recommend.

Enemies to lovers, single dad, celebrity in a small town, Hallmark Christmas but make it spicy. Once again Lucy Score delivers readers a romcom full of banter, emotional punch, and scorching hot moments.

I just adore Lucy Score-the charm of her writing, the humor, the endearing characters and delicious chemistry. And add in CHRISTMAS!!? I'm a goner. And I just adored this lovable story. Enemies to lovers, forced collaboration, and so much adorable banter and sexual tension. Cat and Noah are delightful together. The dialogue is witty and clever, the whole fixer upper premise is loads of fun and so unique, and the emotional layers just keep unravelling for a really beautiful story underneath all the fire and sass. Cat is a heroine you root for, and Noah is the character you FALL for. Their relationship (and Noah's backstory) had me ALL in my feels. Lucy always weaves emotional complexity so effortlessly into her stories, and this one had me ALL up in my feelings. And the spice! These two are electric together- the push-pull between them was epic. Not to mention we had a great dose of Christmas running throughout. If you're looking for a heartfelt, tender, but fun and humorous Christmas romance, the Christmas Fix is a complete delight. Definitely a favorite from Lucy Score and a top holiday read!

Hgtv meets Hallmark holiday movie! I absolutely loved this read, it was so perfect for Christmas and the re release was amazing.

Cat (our FMC) heads to Merry, a picturesque Christmas town hit hard by a tropical storm to help them rebuild for Christmas. What she's not expecting is the absolute harsh response from Noah (our mmc). Noah doesn't trust Cat, he's certain that she's just there to further her fame, especially after her first horrible visit to town. These two begrudgingly agree to get along after Cat manipulated him into agreeing to her help but what neither of them are expecting is the sparks that may be more than hatred.

Perfect for Christmas lovers and another amazing Lucy Score read, honestly I can't believe it took me so long to read it.

I LOVED this enemy to lovers, small town, spicy Christmas story. It’s an Amazing, warm, sexy story to start the holidays without all the cheesiness.

Merry, a small town in Connecticut, is going through a flooding disaster. A TV star, Catalina “Cat” King, wants to help rebuild Merry, but the town city manager, Noah Yates, doesn’t want her help. Cat doesn’t take no for an answer. Cat is a strong, bad ass heroine, and Noah is known as ‘Mr. No’, but is a great single father.

The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score will most likely be my Favorite Holiday Read this year!
Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Cat Gannon doesn't want to host a tired, old holiday decorating contest. When a hurricane floods the quaint town of Merry, CT, she sees it as an opportunity to do some good with her holiday special budget. She wants to help rebuild the town and restore their annual Christmas celebration. The only thing standing in her way is Noah, the grumpy town manager. He thinks she's just in it for the ratings and doesn't want his town's suffering exploited. Will the two be able to work together?

There was a lot to love about The Christmas Fix in terms of tropes.
Grumpy/Sunshine
Rivals to Lovers
Single Dad
Secret Relationship
Career-driven woman finding the balance she needs
Reality TV

Cat's can-do, go-getting spirit really resonated with me. I was rooting for her the entire time. And Noah's connection to the Christmas Festival left me emotional in a way I was not prepared for.

But at the same time, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was too close to a cut and paste of Lucy Score's other book, Mr. Fixer Upper. It wasn't a bad book by any means, it just didn't grab my attention as much as Mr. Fixer Upper, and that might be because I finished that book shortly before starting this one.

I loved The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score. It's a perfect holiday romance with just the right amount of banter, tension, and steam. Cat King may be a famous home renovation reality tv star, but she uses her fame for good--no matter what the grumpy town mayor (who just happens to be a hot single dad) might think. He knows she's the town's best bet to save Christmas, but he doesn't trust her or her motives. I adored this enemies to lovers, small town romance. If you're looking for a Hallmark-movie-esque plot but with more *ahem* adult content, definitely add this one to your holiday reading list. Also--the daughter? Adorable. I loved her so much. It's sometimes difficult to write kids well--but Score nailed it.

Lucy Score is one of my auto-buy authors, and The Christmas Fix did NOT disappoint. Thank you to Bloom Books for an advance review copy of the updated version.

Endearing!

I love the banter, I love the push/ pull, I love the side characters, but most of all I love the journey Cat and Noah take us on as they find their way.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

When I requested this book from NetGalley, I didn't realize it was a republishing of a book I'd already read. It was so fun to dive back into this book and these characters. It's the perfect cozy book for any holiday fans and if you like HGTV shows then this is definitely the one for you. I love Cat and Noah and their story is the perfect holiday romp during these cold nights.

Synopsis:
There's only one thing standing in the way of Cat King saving Merry, Connecticut's Christmas festival: Grumpy town manager Noah Yates.
Single dad Noah takes his responsibilities seriously. When a late season hurricane turns his town into a disaster, he's left scrambling to pick up the pieces of the town he loves.
At least, until home renovation expert and smoking hot reality TV star Catalina King arrives with a camera crew and a budget big enough to put the town back together again. But Noah doesn't want a celebrity diva capitalizing on their tragedy or filling his young daughter's head with visions of glitz and glam.
Blonde bombshell Cat is used to being underestimated, but Noah has an uncanny knack for getting under her skin. They can't be in a room together without rubbing each other the wrong way…except that time in the dark alley where the rubbing was just right. Can these enemies work together to pull off a Christmas miracle or will their fighting leave them both on the naughty list?

TV star Catalina King is doing extremely well. She has forced herself into the male dominated world of home repair and remodel and hopes to teach other women the trade. Now she is heading for Merry, Connecticut which has been devastated by recent flooding. She had been there before to redo a home for her friends, and sadly the home will need it all over again. She contacted town manager Noah Yates, but was warned to stay away as he works to recover his town in time for their Christmas events, a major source of their yearly revenue. Cat has no intention on waiting for his permission as she arrives in town to aide in the rescue and clean up. She even assisted a grumpy town manager to rescue one of their elderly. They battle with words, as Noah always prepares for the worst, but Cat is a woman of action. Could she be what he has needed all this time? Will he finally bless the day when Cat blew into this town? The witty and hilarious dialog and the engaging characters made this a pure pleasure to read! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Ahh this book was so much fun to read, the enemies to lovers banter and steam was super fun 😭 also, I loved the Christmas cheer!

This book deals with the devastating after effects a hurricane has on a small-town and the MCs' efforts to rebuild, and in a way this story resonated with me since my home city also went through a massive flood and a cyclone, in back to back years? I loved reading the rebuilding aspect of this book, it was so wholesome.

This book is also set a few years after Mr. Fixer Upper, and it was amazing to see Paige and Gannon again, and all that they've achieved personally and professionally over these years!

TWs - mentions of domestic abuse and a depressive household as a kid (MMC's past), mentions of misogyny in the workplace

-- ty to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy!

* I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this book. All thoughts are my own.

3.5 stars

It was cute and I liked the characters, I just ended up liking the first book more. Maybe it was the storyline? I’m not sure but I would still recommend this one.

Cat's story was just as fun as her brother Gannon's in Mr. Fixer Upper. I loved the Christmas romance in a small town and seeing characters from the previous book too. It was entertaining to watch the town of Merry be rebuilt after a hurricane (of which I can totally understand because I've lived through one). Great Christmas story and of course Lucy Score is always a fun read!

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Publication date: 10 October 2023.

Like Mr. Fixed Upper, I read this book a few years ago when it was indie published and though I don’t always remember specifics about books from years past, I did remember I loved this one. I was thrilled to revisit it. I love Paige and Gannon, but I LOVE Cat and Noah.

Cat mobilizes to create a holiday special for her home renovation show’s network in a small town ravaged by a hurricane. Cynical city manager Noah has an aversion to all things reality television and fears the show will exploit the pain of his community, and he make it his mission to make things as difficult as possible for Cat. When the two starting looking a little closer at the other and rethinking their assumptions, sparks fly.

I love Cat, and I love any time a woman gets to prove anyone who underestimates her wrong. The tension between Cat and Noah is so charged, and there is never any question that the underlying attraction is there. It’s an enemies-to-lovers storyline done so well. Their chemistry is intense and burns not, the mutual respect they gain as they get to know each other is lovely, and the understanding and support they find with one another is so tender and sweet. Their relationship dynamic is a perfect mix.

It was also a delight to check in with some favorite characters from the first book as well as meet a whole host of new ones in the townspeople of Merry. Noah’s daughter, Sara, is great on her own, but she also really adds a layer to Noah’s character that helps shape who he is. Shoutout to Cat’s assistant Henry for being awesome as well.

This is a perfect holiday romance to me, but also just a great read any season of the year. It’s one of my favorite Lucy Score books.

This book could easily be a hallmark movie! I haven’t read mr. Fixer upper (the first in this diet) and overall it didn’t make a difference although I could definitely tell at the beginning that it was not the first book on a series. Cat is so much fun. She’s a work hard, like really hard, occasionally play hard hgtv esque reality star and contractor set on saving the town of Merry’s Christmas despite “Mr. No” Noah’s reluctance. Not going to lie it took a long time for me to warm up to Noah, he is far too judgy of Cat at first but once they move past that it’s a sweet romance. My favorite part of the whole story was that a thing the town of Merry come together after a hurricane wrecked the place. Having lived through a hurricane flood (not going to lie, the beginning set off my flooding ptsd a little) I really felt for the town and love getting to see Cat and her crew bring the buildings back to life. Overall this was a sweet and spicy enemies to lovers full of Christmas spirit!

A great cozy romance for the holiday season.!! Actually it will be the anchor title for our holiday romance table. Love to see Cat get her love story!

Loved this romcom by Lucy Score. Second book in a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Gives off HGTV vibes with a splash of Christmas. Wonderful found family storyline, along with a bit of grumpy-sunshine from the main characters.

Thanks to NetGalley for this book in exchange for my honest review. Looks like maybe the book was re-released recently with a new cover. It’s out now!
