Cat and Noah absolutely complement each other perfectly in this story. Cat — who needs to drag Noah out of his shell and show him how much fun life can be when he’s not, seemingly, a bit of a jerk. While on the other hand Noah provides Cat with the support and stability she so desperately needs.
The banter is spot on perfection, not that I expect anything different from Lucy Score. This enemies to lovers romance is sure to please as Cat holds nothing back, and while sometimes it may backfire, sometimes it’s perfectly timed.
Lucy masterfully writes these stories that give you a swift kick in the gut much like Micalea Smeltzer. The characters easily break that cookie cutter mould — complex, real and very relatable as a whole. I absolutely adored that she made Cat the loud, outspoken firecracker in lieu of the male lead. Sometimes I feel like it doesn’t happen enough and Lucy got it just right.
The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score is a heartwarming enemies-to-lovers romance set in the hurricane-ravaged town of Merry, Connecticut. City manager and single dad Noah Yates clashes with reality TV star Catalina King, who arrives in Merry with a crew to film a holiday special. Their witty banter and simmering attraction give way to a deeper connection as they work together to save the town's Christmas festival and help the community recover from the disaster. The story beautifully explores themes of family, co-parenting, empowerment, and love, making it a delightful and substantial holiday read with a touch of humor and a lot of heart.
Noah is the grumpy town manager who tries to pick up the pieces of his town after a hurricane. Cat is a reality star with a big budget who can fix the town. They dislike each other right away...
Love the small town and christmas feel. Nobody does small town stories better than Lucy Score. Love the characters. The dialogue is terrific. A fun rom-com.
Thanks the publisher for the arc.
Well, well, well... What an unexpected surprise this story was! Where "Mr. Fixer Upper" missed the mark for me, this story definitely delivered in leaps and bounds!
I loved Cat in Mr. Fixer Upper, and I loved her even more in this story! She was the epitome of a realistic, believable and admirable FMC.
As for Noah, who wouldn't love this cranky, caring, beautiful man? He was ridiculously annoying at the beginning of the story, but I grew to love him as an MMC pretty quickly.
Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic was incredibly believable. Their banter was enjoyable and hilarious and made the realization of their feelings that much sweeter when it finally happened.
I've said multiple times that I'm not a huge fan of single-parent romance novels. But, when done well, as it was in this case, it can actually be an excellent trope. Sarah was such a wonderful addition to their dynamic. She softened Noah's rough edges and brought out the sweeter side of him.
If you'd told me that this story would make me cry actual tears, I would've called you a liar! But, guess what? This story made me ugly cry on so many occasions. Cat's pain from being torn between Noah and her career was so well-written and real, it made my heart break a little for her. And when she was panicking and pushing him away, he was so sweet and patient and continued to wear his heart on his sleeve.
There are very few rom-com couples that I've enjoyed reading more than I did Cat and Noah.

Noah and Cat. Recommendation- I would probably read Mr. Fixer Upper first, just so you have Gannon and Paige’s story read…but not required.
Gannon’s sister Cat, has her reality TV series and she’s looking for a spot to film their Christmas special. When a hurricane comes through the northeast side, Cat wants to help out the town of Merry, a town she once filmed in. That’s when she decided how to do both. Help out the town, all while filming, on the network’s dime, in order and time to save Christmas. She didn’t expect every decision to have push back though; Noah. The town manager, Noah. The grumpy, Mr. No, not in my town, hot, sexy..oh wait, I mean pain in the butt, Noah.
Not in my town. It is Noah’s job to make sure everyone in Merry is safe and out of harms way. After the hurricane hit, numerous people are without homes and businesses in their small town and the last thing he will allow is someone coming in, hmm Cat, and exploiting his town’s hardship for TV viewership.
But more often than not, things may not be as they appear. Cat starts to see the softer side of Noah and Noah starts to see the good that Cat wants to do in his town. So they both find a better avenue than arguing…a hotter, steamier avenue. But all good things must come to an end as Cat is only in Merry for a short time. Or is she?
Such a sweet but steamy read to put everyone in the Christmas spirit. Loved when Cat finally saw the softer side of Noah and learning of his childhood. You just want everything to go right for him. And of course we knew Cat’s intentions but reading Noah view and learning she was tattoo girl was so heartwarming. Great read leading up to November and December.
The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score is the perfect holiday read that combines sizzling romance with the spirit of Christmas. Cat King and Noah Yates are a dynamic pair, clashing at every turn, yet their undeniable chemistry sizzles. Lucy Score weaves a tale of enemies turned lovers, set against the backdrop of a small town's Christmas festival in peril. The tension between Cat and Noah is electric, and their journey is filled with both witty banter and heartwarming moments. This book delivers all the festive feels, steamy romance, and a touch of holiday magic. It's a delightful, must-read addition to your Christmas bookshelf!
I adore Cat and the town of Merry. I was going to wait to read this book closer to Christmas, but I couldn’t wait. So happy I didn’t. However, I might reread it during the holiday season
“Oh, you’re risky. I could fall for you, and you could just walk out of my life onto the next job, the next guy, the next adventure. And I’d just be left remembering.”
“I love you, Catalina King. I didn’t mean to, and I’m not sure how it happened. But I’d be a fool if I just let you walk away.”
-enemies to lovers, single dad, small town 🎄
-tv reality star Cat and her reno crew come into town just in time to save Merry’s Christmas festival 🔨🪚👷♀️🧱
-between being town manager and single dad to 12 year old Sara, Noah has enough on his plate. He doesn’t have time for anything, except maybe bickering with one sexy and spicy Cat
-the story didn’t pick up until about halfway but still thoroughly cute and fluffy
-lots of lovable characters and great support systems between each other
-thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for this ARC

The Christmas Fix

THOUGHTS:
I want to thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for giving me the opportunity to read an e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
Ahhhh Lucy does it once more but holiday style. I gobbled this one up faster than I ever thought imaginable. This book is a must read during the holidays (Christmas holiday that is). Enemies to lovers is one of my ultimate favorite tropes and this gave that vibe and I couldn’t have been happier how it went. I loved Noah and Cat and loved how their relationship developed and grew and loved their story. The ending of this book was exactly what I was hoping for. I couldn’t ask for more in this book—it delivered. You need to pick this book up and read it, it’s a must read for sure!!!!
This was such a cute Christmas romance. The hero and heroine were definitely made for each other and I loved how seamlessly the story flowed.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
I recently discovered Lucy Score and love the writing style of her books!
This holiday romcom packed a similar punch of humor and banter that I’ve come to expect.
Thank you so much for an advanced copy of this book! It was the perfect book for the Christmas season!
I actually liked this second book in the series more than the first. I liked the interaction between the 2 main characters. Both books in the series are super fast reads.
I became a fan of Lucy Score when I read her Knockemout series. These were the first books of hers I read, and I think that's why I have a hard time reading her older work. You can definitely tell her writing has improved since The Christmas Fix was written (in 2017, I believe). Overall, it was an okay story, but I had a hard time connecting with the main characters, Cat and Noah. Like all of Lucy's books I've read thus far, there is more passion than romance. Now, I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes it's just nice to have that slow burn instead of feeling like the hero and heroine want to rip each other to pieces by lust and/or anger. (Case in point - as much as I LOVED LOVED LOVED and ADORED the Knockemout series, I did get tired of the lack of romance). But if you love enemies to lovers storylines, then The Christmas Fix is certainly for you.
She's a reality TV star who wants to save a Christmas festival and he's the grumpy town manager who wants her as far away as possible from his town. Cat King wants to save Merry, Connecticut's Christmas Festival, especially after the flood that had damaged the town. She wants to help the town rebuild, get the festival back in time, and put it all on tv to help raise money, the only issue is that the grumpy town manager, Noah Yates wants her as far away from possible and wants nothing to do with her show. Noah is a single dad who wants to be a role model to his daughter and to rebuild his town after the hurricane season wrecked it. He does not want Cat to make his town look pathetic on her tv show, he does not want her anywhere near his town, he doesn't trust her but he doesn't have a choice in letting her go ahead with her show because he so desperately needs the funds to help rebuild. Cat is dangerous for Noah, she's beautiful, famous, and gets under his skin. Noah and Cat get off on the wrong foot except their animosity towards each other might fuel another emotion, lust. One kiss and suddenly they can't stop wanting each other, and it's going to take a Christmas miracle to fix Merry and to figure out their feelings for one another. This is a Christmas romance between a feisty actress and a grumpy town manager. Cat and Noah are an enemies to lovers trope romance, yet if I'm going to be honest, I really didn't feel anything for them and didn't really get their romance. They both felt a bit immature (though to be fair, Noah is way worse, seriously I was fed up with this man the entire book). It didn't feel like a Christmas romance and I kind of wish there was just more holiday or more emotional storyline. I found myself just getting a bit bored with the story but managed to get to the end. While this one didn't work for me if you enjoy enemies to lovers with a bit of reality tv show mixed in give this one a go, it might be for you!
