I absolutely loved this holiday romance from Lucy Score. I read Mr. Fixer Upper last summer. I do wish that storyline was a little fresher, but otherwise I loved this!
I loved Cat in Mr. Fixer Upper so I’m glad she got her own storyline. As much as I loved her brother and Paige, I think I loved her and Noah more. I loved their grumpy sunshine vibe. Cat is so determined to help the town of Merry and help them recover after the flood. I loved her big heart and determination to help despite Noah attempting to block the show. Their chemistry was undeniable. I also loved his daughter Sarah.
I loved them being open and the things Noah did to hair show he cared. I loved the tight little community of Merry and how they came together.
This reminded me why I love Lucy Score’s writing and made me want to pick up another one of her books immediately!
This is a great Christmas- Spicy romance easy read for the winter!
Cat is a bold woman who knows what she wants and won’t stop until she convinces the stubborn town mayor, Noah, to let her help the CT town save their Christmas festival. She is a tv personality who does home improvement.
The small Connecticut town just suffered damage from a hurricane and the busy mayor is not interested in her ideas.
The writer, Lucy Score does a great job building the relationship between these two characters.
I loved the banter and flirting between them!
Love a good romance!
Thanks to netgalley for the eArc for my review
This one is super cute. I loved the reality television side of it all, this was a really unique turn on that. I enjoyed seeing the other side of it and how normal Catalina was. Noah is the grumpy, fixer MMC that we all want to have in our lives. Their relationship progression was well paced and the single dad side of it was *chefs kiss* perfect!
The only downside is that it felt really slow. We could have skipped a lot of the boring parts!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (4 Stars)
Steam: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 (multiple steamy scenes with description)

This was a great read for the days leading up to Christmas! Basically like a hallmark movie with spicy scenes! It also had some really funny scenes which I enjoyed.
This is the second book in a series but can still be read as a stand alone. I didn’t read the first book but understood this well. This book was originally published in 2017, but re-published this year with Bloom Publishing and a new cover.
This book follows Cat, she is a reality tv renovator, tasked with fixing up the town of Merry for Christmas. Noah is the grumpy city manager. It’s a great hate to love story. It took me a bit to get into this but overall it was a fun Christmas romance read! If you love Lucy Score like I do, I recommend this one!

Yes Lucy score!
I really enjoyed this series! So fun and steamy!
I loved Cat’s character! She was confident and unforgiving.
Great character development and storyline.
Definitely recommend this and the series!
This is the perfect holiday book. It felt like I was reading Hallmark movie. At times, it felt a little predictable but it also felt right. The book mostly takes place leading up to Christmas. Noah may be a new book boyfriend. Him and Cat are perfect for each other.
This is book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read book 1 yet but still enjoyed this book.
I was given an Advanced Reader Copy by NetGalley for an honest review.
After filming her hit home renovation show there, Cat has a soft spot for the town of Merry, Connecticut. So when a hurricane hits, destroying much of the town, Cat is the first person who wants to go help. She convinces her network to make it into a show - getting the town back on its feet in time for the spectacular Christmas celebration the town is known for. But there’s one major hurdle: Noah, the city manager, does not want the show, or Cat, in his town. She’s set to prove him wrong and bring Christmas back to Merry.
First of all, I was very excited for a main character named Cat! And I especially loved that she was a bit sassy and tough! She and Noah made the perfect enemies to lovers pair and I adored their relationship. This book really was exactly the slow burn, steamy holiday romance I didn’t know I needed in my life. I loved the reality TV show storyline and that Cat was there to help rebuild. I adored the sweet town of Merry and the various side characters in the story. And I loved the holiday vibes. This one left me feeling so happy!
Thanks to Bloom Books and NetGalley for the advance copy.
When an unexpected hurricane hits Merry, Connecticut, late in the season, Noah Yates, the city manager, is forced to cancel the Christmas Festival. But no festival means no tourism dollars which can break this small town. All seems lost until famous home renovation TV star, Catalina King, shows up to do a holiday special and bring in some revenue for the town. But Noah is not a fan of Catalina and does not want her to put diva ideas in his daughter's head.
I struggled at first to get into The Christmas Fix. I had just read The Fixer Upper and it had felt slow, so moving into The Christmas Fix felt a little more like a chore. It did pick up and I ended up really enjoying it. I loved the characters, especially Noah and his single dad vibes. The small town was very cute and the spice was perfect.
It's been a couple years since Cat King and her production crew were in Merry Connecticut, but they've suffered a late season hurricane that decimated the town. She wants to do something more meaningful as a Christmas Fixer Upper special and cleaning up the whole town before their annual Christmas festival would bring in great ratings. The biggest problem is city manager Noah Yates. The last thing he wants is a stuck up tv star using his town's disaster for a media circus. When he's overruled by the town he loves, he's determined to pick up the pieces when she fails, but the longer she's in town, the more he realizes how wrong he was about her. Sparks fly, but any relationship is bound to fail when she'll be on to the next project after the holidays...unless he gives her a reason to stay.
Lucy Score definitely spices up the season with this story!! I love how Cat was able to turn the town's Mr. No around and bring some fun back into his life. The Christmas surprises, especially the tree engraving, gave me all the feels! And of course, Gannon and Paige and cute little Gabby make a big appearance in this book too. I love this idea of the reality show fixing up the whole town after a disaster, with all the trimmings of Christmas too. I recommend this holiday treat.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lucy Score is an amazing world-builder and I love all her books. I get sucked into the world and don't want to leave. This book was a really quick and exciting read.
The second book in the series and it continues the spicy rom com series perfectly! Witty banter, hate filled interactions between the main characters that may be a bit more foreplay than actual hate and spicey antics to entertain you for hours upon hours! If you haven't read the first book, you absolutely should! It's extremely entertaining and it gives you a ton of backstory on the characters in the books, but you could read this one and enjoy it without the first although you would be missing out! Cat is a hard-working reality tv star for a home improvement network and Noah is a strait-laced, small-town manager and single dad with no time for nonsense. The two butt heads on the regular based on preconceived ideas of what the other one is like as the sparks fly between them. Great characters that are well developed and realistic, a wonderful small-town setting, a fun, snark-filled plot that is beyond entertaining all combine to make the perfect rom com read!
This book has me so conflicted because it’s not a 3 but it’s also not quite a 4. I loved it but there were also some aspects that I disliked. For one, I think this could have been a shorter book. I don’t understand why every Lucy Score book needs to be so long. The plot was nothing out of the ordinary for a small-town Christmas romance. I also wish the author focused just a little more on the actual preparation for Merry’s comeback holiday event. The whole book was about how MC Cat was going to give Merry a Christmas that no one would forget but we were given very little details about the actual Christmas event.
The main character, Cat, swooped in with her reality TV show to save the flooded town of Merry and give them the Christmas they deserved and the Christmas their residents were depending on. She was immediately introduced to the grumpy town manager, Noah, when she saved him from drowning in the flood. He was so grumpy and she was a ray of sunshine. They bickered throughout a majority of the book. Oh, and did I mention Noah was a single dad???
What made this book closer to a 4 than a 3 was the ending. It was such a tear jerker!!! I couldn’t get over how cute it was that Cat put her dreams on hold for Noah only to find out that her dreams were his top priority. He showed her they could be happy together while still following her dreams of opening a school and caring for his daughter, Sara. It was also so cute to have Sara chime in at the end and express her excitement. It was so heartwarming.
I’d recommend this book if you’re a Lucy Score/Christmas girl like myself but go into it with lower expectations because, in my opinion, it doesn’t compare to her other books. It was, however, a fun Christmas read so for that I’d recommend it and I will probably find myself reading the other book in this series eventually too!
This book was the best way for me to finish my year of reading. The banter was hilarious and the story line was wonderfully written. This book is a Hallmark movie in page form. 10/10 recommend.
When home renovation reality star, Catalina King heard Merry, Connecticut was impacted directly by a hurricane, she flew into action to repair the quaint town, and to help its residents get back on their feet. But when she runs into interference from city manager, Noah Yates, Cat is going to have to fight for every last inch of her expert assistance to even be accepted...

The Christmas Fix was a sweet and engaging, Christmas-themed, single parent romance! Cat and Noah are on opposite sides of a reality show dilemma... she wants to help Merry, for her TV shows Christmas special, and he wants NOTHING to do with his town being exploited for ratings. But the more time these two feuding antagonists spend around each other, the more their true personalities shine through...
Cat has a super successful home renovation show, which has skyrocketed her into TV fame. But behind the veneer of her television persona, Cat truly cares about fixing peoples homes, and the people of Merry.
Noah is Merry's city planner and a single dad who is protective of the town he loves. He see's Cat as a flashy TV star with no substance, but little by little she reveals just what kind of person she truly is...
I enjoyed this read a lot, but it was definitely a slow one for me. The romance took a back burner to all things renovation, and I was desperate for the timeline to move just a little more quickly. I liked the relationship between Cat and Noah, and the way it progressed. While their first obstacle was getting to really know each other, and to get past their initial dislike, the biggest hurdle they faced was the fact that Cat has no plans to become a permanent fixture in the town of Merry...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I really, really loved Cat in this. In a very male dominated field, she was determined to give her all at every point to show that women have as much power in this industry as men! It was just amazing to watch her work. I also loved that she gave back so much to this town of Merry and that she was just so giving in every aspect of her life and career.
Sweet, sweet Noah. He's a great dad/co-parent with his ex and a great city manager. He is so caring for this town that gave him the best outcome even if his childhood wasn't the greatest.
These two together, fighting or (hotly) getting it on, was just pure entertainment and angst!
This is my second book by Lucy Score and I absolutely LOOOOOVED it. She has such a way with the romance genre. And *chefs kiss* to the book's setting as well as the characters. Still thinking about Noah 24 hours later.
Catalina King never takes no for an answer, which is why she finds herself fighting for her tv show against the scroogiest city manager she's ever met, Noah Yates. Cat knows that the town of Merry is perfect for the show she's been dying to shoot and she just needs to show him how much this will save them. After surviving a devastating flood you would think he would be interested in getting the town back up and running, have some new homes built along with a few businesses, AND get the town holiday festival ready before Christmas. After a little bit of lowball bribery he finally agrees. Now she just has to show (begrudgingly) super hot "Mr.No" Noah that she ALWAYS delivers.
Ahhh Cat & Noah. They are so spicy and have thee best banter. I'm such a sucker for an enemies-to-lovers as well as a man who loses control with the right woman so these two were perfect for me. I really could not recommend a Christmas read enough.
If you are only planning on reading one holiday read this year and you're looking for some good spice...
"Pick me. Choose me. LOVE ME." - this book
3.5 rounded up. i always enjoy lucy's writing and the festive holiday elements made this extra fun for this time of the year. i didn't connect too well with the characters and didn't find myself rooting for them though. overall, would still recommend
Did not finish at 50%. Unfortunately, the male MC was way too pessimistic for me, and he kept rooting for the female MC to fail. I know it was to create tension between them, but then their “moment” was tacky in how they got together. I did not care how it ended.
I was craving a spicy, hallmarky Christmas romance and The Christmas Fix just hit the spot for me. I loved these characters and Lucy's writing is fantastic as always!
Catalina is a reality tv star of a home improvement show. A hurricane caused a lot of damage to the town of Merry, CT where Cat did a remodel a couple years ago. The damage also causes the town’s Christmas celebration to be canceled…until Cat pitches a special that rebuilding the town in time for the Christmas festival. Only Noah, the city manager, thinks this is a bad idea and wants no part of it
This was a fast and easy read, which put me in a holiday mood with all the talk about getting the town ready for their Christmas festival. It is the second book in a series but can be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed this story and added Mr. Fixer Upper (book 1) to my tbr pile.
