This is like a Hallmark movie with some spice added in. Cat campaigns heavily to have her reality home reno show help Merry, CT after a disastrous hurricane brings devastation to the small town. The city manager, Noah, is determined to keep TV cameras out of his town. Full stop. In the end, Cat gets her way but this does not mean that Noah and she begin to see eye-to-eye.

This is a classic enemies-to-lovers romance. These two really and truly hate another from the start. They are each very different and both protective of the things they love. I appreciated that Lucy Score gives these two characters the time and space they needed to turn things around, personally. It made it all feel so much more believable. I adored Noah and his sturdiness. This single dad is a hard worker, protective of his town and its people, and just an all-around good person. Cat grew on me, although I never warmed up to her fixation on being skinny. I wish Score had changed that about Cat with the re-release of this title.

While this book clearly is set leading into the holidays, it didn't feel overly Christmasy, despite the title. I really enjoyed the HGTV-like reality show aspect. I enjoyed all the side characters and the little get-togethers and traditions they shared. All in all, this was an enjoyable holiday read, perfect for anyone who loves a slow-burn romance. There is real chemistry and spice to this book so don't let that small-town feel fool you into thinking this is a true Hallmark-style book. I continue to be a fan of Lucy Score and would recommend this book to anyone looking for a holiday romance with depth to it.

This book was such a disappointment, I'm not even quite sure where to begin. I guess I'll start with the thing that bothered me the most: the rampant fatphobia all throughout the book. At first I thought it was just an off-handed comment by the male lead. Then the female lead just constantly made comments about her body and being worried about getting fat or the way her body would look on camera. There is absolutely a way to discuss the pressures of looking a certain way to be on camera without being fatphobic, but this book really bother me in the way it was handled (particularly the way she spoke about it to a 12 year old girl). The characters' love story just didn't work for me either; it felt so forced. I was honestly more interested in the home renovations discussed than I was in the actual plot.

I know that this is one of her older books that was re-released for Christmas this year, but it honestly makes me not want to read any of her other books now.

This was a super fun book! I really liked the main characters and loved the town of Merry. I loved this book so much I bought it in two formats. It was a wonderful winter treat!

I love Lucy Score so when I saw a Christmas romance book by her best believe I was ready! I loved it and it’s just what I needed to cure my need for a spicy hallmark type read! I will never not recommend a Lucy book. I love her writing and characters!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the second book in this series and it was amazing. I absolutely loved it. It’s such a perfect holiday book. Add this to your TBR.

I didn’t love this book unfortunately. I think a large part of it was that the enemies portion of the enemies to lovers trope was just too childish? Even though the reason for Noah’s mistrust of Cat was realistic, the way they argued with each other was immature. Cat was honestly annoying and the way she handled things was not great. She’d do kind things, but then plan to shove it in Noah’s face to prove what a great person she was.

The romance also didn’t hit quite right for me. It was kinda an issue for me that they first kissed when Cat was drunk and Noah didn’t get her consent. He also overstepped major boundaries when he decided to enter her trailer and clean, shop, and go through her paperwork. This rubbed me the wrong way and it didn’t feel sweet to me considering they hadn’t known each other long and she didn’t know he was going to be in her trailer.

All in all, not my fav Lucy Score.

What a fun read this was! I adore Lucy Score's small town world building, and have for quite some time. This was a great read- family, small town community, and a spicy love story between our sunny home network star and the grumpy town manager. Perfect holiday read for romance lovers!

Adorable holiday read! I loved all the tropes in this book. The characters were also great. Lucy Score never disappoints and this holiday book certainly didn’t either

This is the second book in the Fixer series but could certainly be read as a standalone. This book features Catalina King (Cat) as the focal point. The town of Merry is hit with a hurricane right before the holidays. And, they count on the income from the Christmas Festival in this tiny town. Cat has been here before with her brother fixing up a family's home (the Hai's). She loved the town and formed a bond with the family, so when she finds out their home has sustained extensive damage only a few years after it was fixed, she makes it a mission to get the city manager to allow them to come back and help.

Noah Yates is the city manager. He has an pre-formed opinion about Cat and thinks that she is only interested in doing this renovation show for the entire town for more fame and glory. He initially says no but she figures a way around that. He thinks she is nothing but a diva and she thinks he is a hard headed jerk. But, there is certainly an attraction there.

The way that the author tells this story is very easy to read. And while there is a lot of feisty=ness between our two main characters, the build up is well done. An enjoyable tale and one I'm glad I read right before Christmas.

I really don’t read a lot of holiday books, but I was excited to read this one because it seems to be a winner for a lot of people.

Overall, I found it to be a cute read! The beginning was strong and I liked Cat’s character. I also loved precious Noah, even if he was a ginormous pain in the ass in the first half of the book.

I did find that the middle dragged a lot for me. It took me a long time to finish this book because it just wasn’t drawing me in. I’m not sure why and can’t really pinpoint it. But I did love the ending so much and thought it was so cute!

My biggest complaint was honestly the uh…spicy scenes. I love a good smutty read. And maybe it’s just me. But I really didn’t like how the spicy scenes were written. A lot of words and phrases were used that just seemed awkward and it took me out of the book entirely.

So there you go. It was cute and I liked it, but there were some issues that I had with it as well.

Thank you to Bloom Books for my gifted copy!

This is the second book in the Fixer/King sibling series by Lucy Score, but can be read as a stand alone. Once again, Lucy has put some magic in her books (like always)! I did read the first book (Mr Fixer Upper) before this and was glad I did because I love knowing all about the characters in these books.

This book features Cat, one of two twin King siblings who star in a home renovation show that took off and made them fixer upper celebrities. The first book featured her swoony brother Gannon and both siblings are strong willed, outspoken people who have a hard time settling down.

Cat is a pistol! She is definitely a likable character, but she has her flaws and doesn’t want to let men get too close to her. She is determined to help the picturesque town of Merry, Connecticut with a flooding disaster that puts their town in a lot of ruins before the Christmas season. City Manager Noah Yates wants nothing to do with Cat King and her celebrity and her reality show. Cat doesn’t back down and works her way into helping the town pick themselves back up and be featured on a holiday TV show special.

Noah is kind of unlikable at first. He was not open minded to his town getting help and seemed pretty judgmental. We get a deeper dive into his thought process and what kind of guy he really is throughout the book. It is a good author trait to be able to take a character that you do start off disliking and completely turn them around for the readers!

Noah is also a single dad, which is a fun trope to read, with his almost teenage daughter Sara. By the end of the book, it got me with all the Christmas feels when two opposites fall for each other and have to decide if love is worth making sacrifices for!

The Christmas fix is the perfect holiday romance. Think warm hearted Hallmark movie with some steam added. It’s the second book in The King Sibling series. Cat King was introduced in book 1 (Mr.Fixer Upper) Cat is a home renovation TV star. After the small town Merry is hit by a hurricane Cat tries to bring back the Christmas spirit with a holiday special but the city manager Noah Yates wants no part of it!

Lucy Score is the Queen of small town romances!

In The Christmas Fix, the banter is strong, the cocoa is warm and the spice is even hotter. It had everything I’ve come to love from a Lucy Score book, with the addition of Christmas cheer. If Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas had sex and swearing it would be The Christmas Fix!

I loved the dynamic between Noah and Cat - especially when she finally gave some sass back to him.

Read this one if you love:
💟 Grumpy mayors with a warm heart
💟 Enemies to lovers
💟 Friends that are family
💟 Truces made over coffee

The only aspect that I didn’t like was Cat’s need to justify every carb she ate and all of the mentions of needing to work out to stay slim. I just didn’t think the book needed it and it could be triggering for some readers.

When I was halfway through I realized that this is actually book two in a duet, so I’m excited to read book one to see how Paige and Gannon’s story began.

The emotion that runs through this book had me tearing up a few times. Not because it was overly sad, but it definitely played on my holiday feelings. A small town devestated by a flood right before the holidays, a reality tv star with a home-reno show and a mission to rebuild the town and give them their annual Christmas festival, a city manager with a misguided perception of said reality TV star - it was all so perfectly woven together in this fantastic Christmas read. After reading Mr. Fixer Upper, I knew I had to see what was in store for Cat. She's one incredible, strong, smart woman who seemed constantly on the go, working on the next big project. Noah enters her life, resisting her entire purpose at first, but then the enemies-to-lovers vibe hits hard. With the backdrop of saving a community and Christmas, it is the perfect holiday read.

Thank you to Lucy Score, Bloom Books and NetGalley for a copy of the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Enemies to Lovers
Single Dad

What a cute book. I loved Cats drive and determination. I loved Noah's dedication to his daughter and his town. When their two worlds collided it was the perfect storm for a good romance.

A great Christmas read with all the makings of a fantastic romcom. I didn’t read book 1 but it didn’t make a difference in my experience!

I cannot believe I’m about to say this because I really really love, love, love, Lucy Score and her fabulous romcoms. Her books are the ones I go to when I need some fun and steamy romance along with serious issues/topics. However, at 50% I had to set this book down as DNF.

The story was just way too boring and repetitive. Not to mention the male grinch MC was just way too over the top with his hate and spite.

This definitely will not stop me from picking up another one of Lucy’s books because I know there are so many more good ones to come!

The Christmas Fix was a fun shot of holiday cheer in a steamy read. Lucy Score can really do no wrong in my opinion, I love all of her romance novels! At times this one felt it was a bit long and slightly contrived, but as a lover of romance books I can certainly look past that. I found the characters to be heartwarming, and loved the development of the main characters Noah and Cat. I loved the tension that was built between Cat and Noah, with enemies to lovers being one of my favorite troupes. Overall, a solid romance read that gives a bit of Christmas cheer alongside it. I recommend if you want to curl up and read a happily ever after romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.
