I appear to be in the minority but I DNF’d at about 30%. I have loved Lucy Score in the past so tried to hold on, but I couldn’t get into this story. Part of it was the enemies were so far into enemies territory it’s hard to see them as lovers. In addition, I couldn’t feel the sexual tension that makes this trope work so well. Both characters I found more annoying than likable, which is ultimately why I put the book down. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book, and I look forward to future Lucy Score releases!
This was such a perfect read for this Christmas season and I am a big fan of Lucy Score so zero complaints 🙈
Her writings always steal away my heart and the characters are so beautifully penned down. I love it.
This was my first Lucy Score book and now I can officially say it won’t be my last! I absolutely LOVED IT!
This is an enemy to lovers small town romance. Usually these are super predictable. Like it’s obvious Cat and Noah will end up together. But all the in between stuff was still a surprise and had me sucked in from the start. I easily connected with all the characters. There was just the right amount of spiciness.
This plot had me wishing that I was there enjoying the Christmas season in Merry. I mean, how can you not have a town big on Christmas traditions with a name like that.
I definitely recommend this book if you’re into a typical Hallmark Christmas movie, but think more along the lines of a modern and spicy one.
Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, Bloom Books for the digital reviewer’s copy in exchange for my honest review.
Wish I had known this was book two in the series, I will definitely be going back and reading the first. This town and love story was perfection. Loved the Hurricane aspect and the fact that MMC name was Noah was not lost on me. So good!
This was my first Lucy Score book and I can see why she is so popular. This was a fun Christmas story that kept my attention and had me laughing out loud. I liked the chemistry between Cat and Noah - enemies to lovers is truly the best. The setting of Merry was lovely and I enjoyed seeing how all the characters interacted. This was rereleased with a new cover for 2023 and I definitely gravitated towards the new cover so it seems like a smart choice! While this is technically book two in the series, you don’t need to read book one to enjoy it!
I loved this Mrs. Claus vs the Grinch novel! So much fun, filled with holiday hijinks and witty banter. Lucy Score is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley!
My first, and only Christmas book that I've read this year, and I'm soooo glad it was this one. Lucy Score is definitely an Auto Buy Author now. Loved the story, loved the characters, the single dad trope, etc. So good.
Enemies at Christmas...
Cat and Noah intensely dislike each other for no reason.
Cat is all HGTV and Noah is not in my town.
You;d think they would play and nice and work together. And they don't.
Not for a loooong time.
Easy reading, though.
This was such a sweet book — Cat is a HGTV-like reality star who’s fought for her success and excellent reputation. She can wield tools and wear heels- I’m in awe of her!
She also hates Noah, the town of Merry’s manager and a man who really dislikes her for no reason from the beginning. He thinks he’s protecting his town from the likes of Cat, and she only wants to help after a devastating hurricane— to get their annual Christmas festival on track in time for the holiday!
These two were fire together, and I loved seeing them go from each other’s throats to a different physical choice. But once they acknowledge their attraction, will Cat give up her no-strings lifestyle for a small town and a single father?
These two are just so darned lovable - if you want a Lucy Score book for the holidays, this totally delivers! I love the reality TV elements, the side characters, and our MCs. This is a slam dunk, and I can see myself rereading.
If you’re considering this one, go ahead and pick it up this holiday season!
The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score is the most charming holiday read I’ve ever read!
It’s amazing and swoony. It’s so heartfelt.
From the amazing characters to the phenomenal writing, this was exciting, entertaining, intense, and all kinds of sexy. There was a phenomenal build as everything unfolded. This was a wonderful read that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
All the side characters were excellent too and I just loved every second of this book.
This book was pure joy and enjoyment. I couldn't stop reading.
A remarkable enemies to lovers, a small town romance that gives major Hallmark vibes.
Thank You NetGalley and Bloom Books for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score has quickly become a favorite holiday read. I have come to love anything by Lucy Score this past year, so I knew I would enjoy this one! Cat King is a reality tv star who is doing a Christmas special involving renovating multiple locations in the small town of Merry after they are hit by a late season hurricane and suffer catastrophic flooding. Or at least, Cat will be doing the Christmas Special if she can convince grumpy Noah Yates, the town manager, to let her do the show there. Cat is not one to back down from a challenge and soon has her crew starting production. Noah thinks Cat is just using his town to get viewers, but their hatred for each other soon takes a turn as they get to know each other. I loved these characters, but especially loved the character of Cat with her fierce attitude but soft heart. I see myself reading this fun enemies to lovers romance every holiday season from now on. Think: Hallmark Christmas movie but with some steamy moments thrown in. This book is #2 in the Fixer Upper series. I haven’t read the first one yet, but plan to in the near future!
**I would like to thank NetGalley, Bloom Books, and Lucy Score for an ARC of this book! This is available as of 10/10/23.**
At first, this book and I were not clicking. I think this may partially be because it's the second book in the series. This claimed to be a standalone so I went in without worries and with zero background. The way characters were introduced and some other details were explained as if you "already knew what was going on, so let's just gloss over it." I kept having to go back to see if I missed something. Overall, this wasn't a major problem in the long run.
Once I got to about 40%, I hit the ground running. I could not put the book down and almost finished it the same night (my 6am alarm was absolutely devastating and I've been slurping down coffee all morning).
When its done right, I love enemies to lovers and this was done RIGHT. The banter, the tension, UGH AMAZING. I ate this up.
How have I never read a Lucy Score book until now?
This book was great! It had the perfect mixture of holiday spirit, a little spice, and the homey vibes of a small town.
I found at some points there was just a lot of characters that were hard to keep track of, but I realized this book is actually #2 in a collection. I may have done better with the characters had I been familiar with book one.
Overall it was a great holiday read! I love the new cover, it was perfect for the season. I hope to pick up the physical copy of this one next time I’m at the bookstore!
Okay!!!! I liked this one so much more than I thought I would!! Which I don’t know why? because the Knockemout series is one of my favs from this year 😂
✨small town romance (the town name is Merry 🥹🥲 please that’s so cute)

✨reality/HGTV star coming in to help rebuild the town in time for Christmas after a storm!
✨enemies to lovers
✨spiccyyy 🔥

Honestly this might be more 4.5⭐️? It was so fun and uplifting and the perfect mix between holiday and non! It’s technically part of a series? and I haven’t read the first (even though I own it…) and I don’t think I missed a thing! Highly recommend!
I was immediately drawn by the title. Who doesn’t love Christmas books ?!!! I went into this not knowing what to expect. I wanted the surprise. & I sure was. I love the characters and the story. This book had me turning page by page and I just completely was enthralled by this book. Definitely worth the read. The Christmas book you need !
4/5 ⭐️
Darling, Lucy Score can write a book! And the fact that she wrote a holiday book!
I saw Christmas and single dad and it had me from the very first moment! I trult thought this would be the equivalent of like a Christmas special on your favourite tv show, but I was pleasantly surprised that this book could hold its own!
Spicy and sweat read for the holidays 🫶🏽
Cat King is ready to save Christmas in the town of Merry, Connecticut. The only thing standing in her way is grumpy single dad/town manger. No surprise here these two will fall in love. This was a fun one, loved the town and loved the epilogue. I love a book that is tied up neatly with a bow and this had a great ending!
.
Huge thank you to #bloom and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review

I read the first book of this series so I had to grab the second one!🔥
The city of Merry has always held a special place in Cat’s heart. So when a hurricane hits, she wants to bring a Christmas miracle to the town.
Yet Noah, the city manager, is stuck in his ways about reality TV and Cat. He doesn’t want the town to be taken advantage of and make a profit while so many places are destroyed.
If you did not meet Cat in the first book, she’s now one of the highest-paid stars in Reno and Realty Network. She’s now calling more shots than she was before, producing, and she will make it her mission to get what she wants.
Noah is a single father to a 12-year-old daughter and she loves Cat. With him not wanting the influence to get to his daughter's head. He’s always strict about what she can do.
“She said she gave a ride to a few people, not saved actual lives. Between my wife, my sister, and my daughter, I’m going to die young.”
I loved that that Gannon and Paige are there to help and we get to see them again! Truly loved them in the first book.
“Shut up, Cat. You saved my life, and then you let me act like an ass.”
From fighting over changes in the city to attraction. Cat and Noah can’t stand being in the same room with each other while also wanting to continue to spend more time together as well.
Will Noah let Cat turn their town into the dream Christmas spot to be during the holidays? Can Cat let go of her dreams to follow her heart?
“For the boy who dreamed of light.”
Happy Christmas tears!🎄😭 I balled like a baby at the end. This was truly the best Christmas book I’ve read all year so far and I will definitely be reading it again.
Thank you, Lucy Score, and Netgalley for this EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram @Alexandriavwilliams_ shortly.
This book is a follow-up to Mr. Fixer-Upper. I haven't read that one (yet) and thought this read just fine as a stand-alone. I will go back and read it just because I want more time with the King family.
This is a true enemies to lovers romance. Cat and Noah started off with a spark that turned into heater competition and wariness of each other. Mostly Noah, the city manager nicknamed Mr. No, was worried about what kind of chaos Cat was going to unleash on his town as she swoops in to save the beloved Christmas Festival. The town has suffered a horrible flood and needs lots of work. Cat has the green light for a holiday special and wants to help fix up Merry and won't take no for an answer.
I appreciated that the author took the time to help us move from enemies to lovers to friends with benefits to something more. At the beginning it was hard to see how it could ever work, but it did. I loved Noah and Cat, their family members, and the townspeople. This was a great holiday read!
Sad to say but I dnfed at about 20%. I just couldn’t do it anymore. Sometimes enemies to lovers are just too enemy to become lovers. They had no spark of sexual tension that makes this popular (and personal fave) trope work. Both characters had qualities that irked me so I didn’t feel invested in enough to stick around to see their story unfold.
