Lucy Score is always great at giving the drama, easy to jump into stories that are fun to dive in and live in the drama and all the steamy scenes to follow. This did not disappoint! It may be my favorite LS book to date!

3 Stars It’s been fun getting to discover the backlog of some of my favorite authors as they’ve been picked up by new publishers and had their work republished with cute new covers! I’ve read other books by Lucy Score but hadn’t heard of this one before (thank you NetGalley!) and it was a fun HGTV-esque romance with an alpha male and lots of reality TV drama. A fun read!

NetGalley Review — my rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Mr. Fixer Upper by Lucy Score is book 1 of the Fixer: King Siblings Series and follows field producer, Paige St. James as she works on the set of “Kings of Construction” with twins, Cat and Gannon King.

Paige comes across as conservative and quiet, just there to get the job done. But Gannon sees so much more & spends most of his time trying to get her to notice.

I wanted to like this one more than I did. It was average in the character development and storyline which had me grasping for some answers between all the timeline jumping. I liked Paige and Gannon but something about them didn’t seem genuine. Still giving it a 3 because the spice never disappoints!

This reprint is out now!

Big thanks to @read_bloom for this ARC! Off to read the second in the series!

I deeply love home renovation shows as well as romance novels, so I was thrilled to find these combined together. I believe this edition of this book is a rerelease but I had not picked it up in the past. I liked Paige and Gannon’s story a lot, even if at times it felt like Gannon was playing the role of.a little boy on the playground pulling the hair of the girl he supposedly likes. Paige was a strong character, but took a little too long to figure out that part of being strong and successful is making choices that are right for her regardless of how those choices might look to others. Good sexual tension, the typical inability of romance novel leads failing to communicate. A nice twist in which the female half of the couple is the one afraid of commitment.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

In this enthralling romance, I immersed myself in the behind-the-scenes drama of a home renovation reality show. The dynamic between the spirited Gannon and the composed field producer, Paige, unfolds into a captivating love story. Despite Gannon's playful teasing, Paige remains focused on her job and resistant to the spotlight. Their contrasting personalities and undeniable chemistry add depth to the narrative. The book skillfully addresses issues of gender inequality in the industry, shedding light on Paige's struggle. The tension builds as Gannon seeks redemption, and the conclusion is heartfelt and satisfying. With well-developed characters, humor, and a touching ending, this novel left me thoroughly enchanted.

I usually love Lucy Score’s book but this one was a little detached for me.
I prefer when it’s narrated in the first person, so I didn’t felt connect with Paige or Gannon.
Also Gannon didn’t have interest in Paige before and suddenly his in love.
But I’m sure this book finds its publics :)

I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

I thought this book was so sweet. Paige and Gannon are both extremely hard workers and it only made sense that working together would be good for them. I loved watching their budding romance that turned into way more.

Lucy Score has long since been one of my favorite go to authors when I need a good romance. Her writing style is so thorough but quick paste that she fits so much story into her novels, yet it doesn't feel like work to read it.

Gannon and Paige butt heads constantly. As the star of the home improvement show they are filming, it's Paige's job to keep him on task and moving along. Gannon's job is to get under her skin. Sparks FLY in this book. The pining creates such amazing tension and the spicy scenes are well done as well. Not too graphic but also not too tame. Lucy nails it on the head every time. No pun intended.

I have so much hate for this book, which is in fact shocking. I'm only going to talk about three things that I did not like at all about this book.

one. Paige thinks that Gannon used her and is cheating on his girlfriend with her, so she goes to drink at a bar. Bartender says "Penis?" asking if she's having relationship issues. That part did bother me but what bothered me more was when bartender said "Love ‘em anyway or switch teams". Babes, what? It's like love men for their shitty behaviors or become a lesbian? WTF, it's such a bad joke.

two. Paige doesn't want to renew her contract with the show because they used her for a love triangle. So she's like looking jobs and I quote "evident to Paige that job pickings were not merely slim but anorexic". You know a book is bad when they make a ED joke. Cheers.

three. How about when Gannon mansplains to Paige about women struggling to get respect in a work place. "I get what you’re saying, but isn’t there another layer in play here? What about your responsibility for your reaction? If you smile when someone tells you to smile or you back out of a relationship that you want to be in because of the public opinion, isn’t that on you?” SHE HAS HER REASONS WHY SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE WITH YOU. STFU.

Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc version of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

MR FIXER UPPER by Lucy Score
What another fun entertaining read by Lucy Score! This is a home renovation reality show featuring Gannon and his sister, and the show's field producer, Paige. There is the usual witty banter that we have come to expect from Lucy, as well as a great cast of characters. I couldn't stop once I started this story! It is 5 stars.

I'm a Lucy Score fan so I was super excited to grab this ARC as well as the next one in this series!

Paige St. James is a field producer who is focused on her career and nothing else, including men. She has a smart mouth, decided to not follow in her mother’s footsteps, and is determined to make a difference in the industry.

Then we have Gannon King, who is almost every woman’s kryptonite except for Paige. She can’t stand the man. These two are always butting heads and he loves to call her “princess” to push her buttons.

“I can play nice, princess.”

It all started with her falling asleep on his shoulder. We follow them working together and once sparks are caught on camera. Everything changes when Paige has to wear a microphone.

“The question is, are you ready? This is your baby.”

With the higher-ups having a play with creating their own story. Paige is put in a position to let go of her feelings for Gannon to protect her reputation and her plans.

Can these two work together and have a relationship? Will Paige let go of her insecurities to allow love in her life? Will Gannon keep working to get Paige back or will he give up?

Find out in Mr. Fixer Upper! Then grab the second book to read his sister’s story.

Thank you, Lucy Score, Sourcebooks Bloom Books, and Netgalley for this EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram @Alexandriavwilliams_ shortly.

It's an entertaining read with a fun premise. Paige St. James is a field producer for a home renovation show that stars Gannon King (and his sister who has her own book after this one). We follow the two as they go through city to city renovating homes for worthy families while figuring out how they fit into each other's lives.

My biggest gripe with this book is Paige's character and how unlikeable she is. Gannon is clearly the grumpy, arrogant one, but he's a lot more self-aware of his feelings than Paige is. Paige's issues with relationships run through the majority of the book and it gets exhausting. The whole drama was a bit much and it was hard to believe that the miscommunication could be strewed out for so long. If it weren't for Gannon and his grumpy, gallant ways, this book wouldn't been harder to get through.

Read this for: he falls first (grumpy Gannon is wonderful), subplot about women in the industry (so much potential), behind the scenes of home reno shows.

This was actually my second go around for thsi novel as I wantde to re-read before hitting Christmas Fix and I just fell in love with the mini-series all over again. Lucy Score is a quick automatic-read author for me and for good reason.

This book was super adorable. I really loved the hero in the book, much more than the heroine. He was sweet and definitely more charming than I gave him credit for in the beginning of the book.

I think the heroine was a little too in her own head through the majority of the book, that I found I really didn't like her by the end? Even after the grovelling (which *phew* did I ever love), I don't know that she was strong enough as a character for me to like. I found that too many times I was thinking she was a little bit too much of a coward for my liking and in the end, and I stopped enjoying her as a character.

That being said, I did have a lot of fun reading it, and everything else that happened in the book was really fun & enjoyable! Gannon was sweet and I really loved every time he was on page being cute and romantic.

Thank you NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cute, fun, and a bit of over-the-top enemies-to-lovers romance in this one! Lucy Score's novels are always a quick and easy read - just what I need to escape real life every now and again.

This was my Lucy Score book. I had been seeing her name for a while but never picked one of her books up. I am SO glad I did. I loved Gannon and Paige's sorry. They relationship-building, and the plausibility of the story all make for a good satisfying read. I have already grabbed the next in the series. Thanks for the ARC!

Another hit by Lucy Score, I absolutely loved this story!! Lucy has the ability to write perfect witty romances that are also deeply intertwined with so many emotions.

Paige is a field producer for a home makeover show that stars Gannon, and boy is he a pain in her butt. They’re always bickering about something on set, until one day they kiss and sparks fly. Gannon is super interested in seeing it through with Paige because he really likes her. Paige however is not interested in any type of relationship, it’s strictly just sex for her.

But throughout the season of filming they are met with many challenges; Paige is involved in a life threatening accident, the network is pulling their strings to basically exploit their relationship to viewers, and a deranged star from another renovation show is telling the press she and Gannon were already together, painting Paige as a homewrecker.

It all proves too much for Paige to handle and she officially calls it quits with Gannon. But will it actually last because Gannon is not letting his girl go without a fight?

I loved every second of Gannon and Paige’s love story, including the picture perfect ending. I was also excited to find out that the next book in the series (Christmas Fix) is Gannon’s twin sister Cat’s book, and I can’t wait to read it!

This book wasn't for me. I didn't connect with the characters. Overall I felt the plot was boring and missing something.
