I am a big Lucy Score fan and this book didn't disappoint, but in my opinion it is glimpse into how much she's grown as an author! This story felt very fresh yet somewhat rough around the edges... the kind of rough edges that will smooth out over time and with growth. Which makes sense because this is a re-release from 2017. There were parts I loved (the shower scene - hello!) and other parts I could have done without - like Paige's immaturity.

There were quite a bit of miscommunications in this book which tended to borderline on annoying especially given the characters' ages. Gannon was a gruff teddy bear but he fell fast and hard for Paige. She was too worried about her career and the double standards in the workplace for men and women to consider Gannon's motives could actually be authentic. Some funny moments, lots of sweet, and a little steam. Not my favorite Lucy Score novel - by far - but I'm definitely not disappointed I read it. Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, Bloom Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

4.5/5 This would be a great start to Lucy Score if you don’t want to dive into the Knockemout Series (although you should!). Paige has been keeping her simmering frustration to herself while working on Gannon’s hit DIY show. He’s a little tormented by how calm she can remain. We get an accurate look at Paige battling patriarchy in the TV industry, and Gannon becomes a great feminist support. Cat, Gannon’s twin, costars in the series, while also being Paige’s confidant. Cat is fun-loving, carefree, and calculating in her professional progress. And her book comes next! As you can expect from Lucy Score, there is a positively panty-melting shower scene, and plenty of hot dirty talk. I loved everything about this!

Thank you to NetGalley, Ms. Score, and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. An honest review was requested but not required.

I've seen books by Lucy Score all over the place but this is the first time I've tried one out. I should've done it sooner! This was so cute. Paige and Gannon were a really fun couple and great main characters on their own. Paige is a field producer on a reality home renovation show and Gannon is one of the show's stars. Their sparks were obvious from the get-go and their relationship was so easy to root for.

I liked that Paige's main issue - being taken seriously while sleeping with the show's star - was a real one. I loved that Gannon, and then Paige, stood up to Paige's cold-fish mom. I really liked that Paige stood up for herself to the network too.

This was really cute and if this is a good example of Lucy Score's writing, then I'll definitely be back for more. The only thing I will add is - and this is a me-thing - but I liked the shirtless dude cover better than the updated cartoon cover. The new one is more trendy and more discreet but the muscles on previous cover guy's book... *fans self* ... whew.

Mr. Fixer Upper was my first Lucy Score book since it was a standalone and I missed the tide on the first series. I thought the premise of an "Extreme Makeover-type" cable show/love story sounded cute and definitely something for me to have in my pocket to recommend to all my patrons who love the meet-cutes. I did really like Paige and Cat and some of the interactions with Gannon, but couldn't get past my feelings that he was a tough-guy stereotype and the way he practically forced Paige to be with him or to be away from others. I also felt a little gypped that we got minimal backstories on each of the families getting houses with little interaction with them. I would've liked a little more of that and less of the contrived drama around Meeghan. This one just wasn't for me. Thank you to Bloom Books and NetGalley for the early access in return for my honest opinion. 2.5 stars

This was a really swoony slow-burn + workplace romance read! I also liked the arc of the FMC battling misogyny in the workplace, and all the discussions surrounding it. And ahh the grovelling was >>>>

TWs - verbal sexual harassment faced by the MMC, misogyny in the workplace (multiple times), injury/accident due to wind in a storm, mentions of cheating

4.5 stars. I have read Score's Knockmeout series, which I liked better than this title. I only just realized that this was a rerelease of her older work, which you can sense when reading it. Still, I loved the characters and enjoyed the plot.

Gannon and Paige. The Christmas Fix would be a campion book to this one. I read it first, which was fine, but I recommend reading Mr. Fixer Upper first. That being said, they are both great reads.

Gannon and his sister (The Christmas Fix) are the realty stars on a home renovation show. Gannon is cocky, and stubborn, and hot, and a pain to work with. Ok yes, he is hot and hard to look away from.

Paige works on the show and finds Gannon irritating. So much so, she can’t help but to blurt said feelings when he is around. She finds herself miked as their constant bickering has caught the attention of others.

Love the banter between these two. You always know the ones that fight are going to be hot and steamy and have great chemistry. Gannon and Paige do not disappoint. Very fun and entertaining read.

Mr Fixer Upper, the first book in the Welcome Home series by Lucy Score, is a breath of fresh air make other stories of the same genre seem colorless and ordinary. With wit, sarcasm, hilarity, and a clever dialog the author weaves into a story that captures your heart.

If ever there was a memorable and engaging couple who capture your heart and hold on to it long after the last page has been turned, Gannon and Paige are it…their chemistry is fiery and palpable, their dynamics lively and spirited. The secondary characters are the ingredient that takes the story over the top.

Ms Score has set a high bar with Mr Fixer Upper…so I’m expecting the next book, The Christmas Fix on par or even exceptional.

This ARC book is complimentary…provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.

Mr. Fixer Upper was an enjoyable grumpy/sunshine story. The hero was a little too gruff for me, and wasn’t developed enough. Yes, he was grumpy, but why? It seemed like everything was going pretty ok for him. I didn’t feel like I understood him at all, and that he was a pain the neck. Also the shower scene bordered on creepy for me. Mostly, I enjoyed the banter back and forth and the added element of the tv show made it more interesting. However I wasn’t super emotionally invested.

If you're in the market for a dislike to lovers romance definitely pick up Mr. Fixer Upper. Gannon and Paige's love story unfolds on the set of a reality home renovation show and is full of all the drama you'd expect from reality TV. Angst, banter, tender care taking moments, and protectiveness. Gannon pulls off a massive grand gesture that had me swooning.

This novel talks about pay and work inequality, as Paige is convinced having a relationship with Gannon will discredit her hard work and make people think she's only where she is because she's involved with the star of the show she works on. But Gannon is set on proving she can have both the career she wants and a relationship with him.

Tough guys. Smart women. Lots of lovable, hilarious banter. This steamy rom com leaves you wanting more.

Already a fan of Score’s work, I knew exactly what I was getting into once I got started reading. From the hilarious hashtag of #napswithgannon, to the proposal. I loved the premise of the TV couple falling in love and Score simply aced it.

This was a wonderful read without it becoming one of those every day love stories, and the undertone of social justice was palatable without being preachy and overbearing. This steamy enemies-to-lovers rom com is sue to please if you want something that’s not the typical love story, or if you’re a fan of Lucy Score like I am.

So much fun to read!
As a fan of those home fixer television shows and a huge fan of this author, putting the two together it’s just pure joy!

I am mediately loved Paige, Gannon and Cat, these were such funny, honest characters

I had so much fun reading this book, getting a glimpse behind the scenes of those home TV shows, and just enjoying the relationship between Paige and Gannon!

Paige and Gannon work together on the set of a home renovation show. She's a field producer extraordinaire and he's the stoic (and hot) talent. They manage to peacefully coexist and get the job done on project after project despite a semi-professional rivalry. But when a picture of Paige sleeping on Gannon's shoulder as they travel between sites goes viral, Paige (along with the rest of America) starts to wonder if there might be something else developing between them.

I ate up this book. I normally don't go for second chance romances, but this book had so much build-up of their original relationship, that I didn't mind at all. It was the perfect blend of so many solid tropes.

Rivals to lovers.
Workplace romance.
Hurt/Comfort.
Secret relationship.
He falls first.

I really enjoyed how the story developed and was sectioned off into seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and finally Winter. It gave a good sense of structure and pacing to the book. The mix of crazy reality TV moments with the tension blossoming between Paige and Gannon made for a good balance.

Lucy Score is a guaranteed great read! Mr Fixer Upper is a “He falls first” trope with a twist. Paige is woman trying to make it in the industry and doesn’t want to be defined by a man. Something that a lot of women can relate to and which makes this romance much endearing because we can see ourselves in the character.

Gannon King is a SEXY reality star grump and Paige is the very independent field producer on his show. Once Gannon realizes he had Paige pegged all wrong he falls for her hard but she doesn't want to be caught sleeping with the talent and not taken seriously in her profession so she tries to turn him down. Thankfully Gannon is too irresistible and determined and we get an amazing ending with these two.

For the most I enjoyed Mr. Fixer Upper. The writing was really good, like we know and love from Lucy Score. The spice was great. Usually books about filming are to make interesting but this did a great job, focusing on the characters and not the technical stuff. The timeline was prefect. It allowed time for characters to go through stuff and fall in love.

The things I didn’t love. I didn’t like the “princess” nick name, even if it was kind of an inside joke with them. I also didn’t love the MMC reaction to the FMC very clearly saying she didn’t want a relationship with him. I understand the conflict and coming back from it, but saying “too bad you don’t have a choice” to a woman clearly saying no is a bad message no matter the context.

Since I am a sucker for home improvement TV shows I knew I'd enjoy reading about them too! Gannon and Paige were just so great together...even when she didn't think so and I loved how far he went to show her how much he wanted her in his life. The ending was just perfect and I even got a little teary-eyed! This was a fast and fun read and now I can't wait to read Cat's story in The Christmas Fix.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Lucy Score has a way of writing grumpy men and making them desirable. Her quirky main character’s make them so relatable. An enemies to lovers trope and work place romance trope all wrapped in one book. “Mr. Fixer Upper” pulls it off so well. If you love romance and an HGTV vibe you will love this book.
