Even if I was a child and a Minecraft fan, I don’t know if I’d be impressed with the writing style of this one.

I loved this book. Idk why it took me so long to read it it. But it was so good! I need the physical copy. It literally had me in from sentence one.

This book is an excellent choice for kids who are struggling with reading, as it leverages their interest in video games to engage them in the story. The fact that it's part of a series is a bonus, allowing you to sustain their attention and motivation to continue reading. It's a great way to help them catch up on their reading level while fostering a love for reading!

If you’re a fan of Minecraft then this will be a good read for you. It turns out I’m not… This was interesting to a point but it wasn’t mind-blowing or left me wanting to read the rest of the books in the series. The plot wasn’t engaging and the writing wasn’t captivating either.

I really enjoyed this book. It was different than anything else I've read recently. I couldn't put it down! I will keep an eye out for this author's future work!

Our kiddo loves this series. As a fairly new reader, this series has kept his attention and he spends a great deal of time reading independently. He’s read all the books leading up to this one twice. So he was so excited to get an advanced copy. Looking forward to the release in January!

This story follows the first book of this series, A Noob’s Diary of an 8-bit Warrior. These books closely follow the Diary of an 8-bit Warrior graphic novels but instead have more narrative and fewer pictures than the graphic novels. It’s easy to read and the story was entertaining, I read it with my 11 year old and he was enraptured the whole time. The storyline picks up right at the end of the last book and follows Runt and Blurp on an adventure into the Nether. We also meet a new side character and learn more about Blurp.

The only potential issue I can foresee others having is the word “badass” is used in the book. While I personally have no issue with that word or my child reading it in a story, other parents may be upset with their child reading or saying the word while reading this book. This book is marketed towards 7-11 year olds and not necessarily teenagers so I do want to bring that to other's attention in case that’s something that may bother you.

My seven year old is loving chapter books right now (beginning reader) and is very excited to have this book.

"A Noob's Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior - Into the Nether " is a Minecraft story, the continuation of a much longer story spanning several other books.

Runt is a Villager. Blurp is a Zombie. Together with their wolf friend Mobslayer and the warrior Maggie, they go on an extraordinary adventure through the Nether in order to find a way to create a portal to the End (with the ultimate goal to beat an Ender Dragon, but that's the next book).

This book is aimed at younger readers (~6+), with lots of stylised Minecraft-esque illustrations, and text effects emphasising the hyperbolic way kids speak. It's a story of fun and adventure and friendship, with a subtext of prejudices and acceptances as the two main characters are from very different backgrounds.

An enjoyable read for young fans of Minecraft.

~ Many thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review~

Enjoyable read. I read this with my 8 and 6 year old boys. They both really liked it, but it held the attention of my third grader much better.

Very similar to other Cube Kid books and my students enjoy them. A good story for younger kids who are into Minecraft but not a super engaging plot for older kids. My 9 year old read it in 2 days and enjoyed it but wasn’t as engaged as he has been with some other books he has read. I felt the same way- a fine book but not one I’d want to reread.
