I love everything about this book and this series. I don't reread books ever unless they are written by TJ!

Heartsong by TJ Klune is the third installment in the Green Creek series, and this one was just as amazing as the first two. It may actually be my favorite so far. Robbie and Kelly are #MateGoals. And the Ace representation was *chefs kiss.* It's not often you have an Ace main character in a romance, but it was handled so well. Klune painted a beautiful picture of what love and intimacy can look like, not just in spite of being Ace but BECAUSE Kelly is Ace. His identity wasn't a negative thing, but something that added to and deepened their romantic relationship.

But mainly Robbie. I just want to hug him and never let go. My friend Amanda has been my emotional support human while making my way through this series. Now I only have one book to go, and I'm not sure I'm emotionally prepared for it to end.

TJ Klune can do no wrong in my eyes, so needless to say that this offering, the third book in the series, was met by me with absolute delight… a bit like taking a spoonful of your favourite pudding. I love how each of the books focuses on a different character and Heartsong is essentially, Robbie's story.
Roll on instalment four 😊

The writing just gets better and better with each book. There's something about this series and the world TJ Klune created that just keeps bringing me back in. Kelly and Robbie went through a lot in the book, both together and separately. But I love their story, how they came back to each other, how Robbie essentially fell in love all over again. It just felt so warm. Again, love the world, hate the villains for hurting the Bennetts, especially loved the writing. Like Ravensong, however, this didn't hit as hard as Wolfsong, but was still very good. But Carter is my favorite character, so I can't wait to jump into his book.

TJ Klune came in with a job to do, write a series that keeps fantasy readers entertained. Job is 100% complete. This series kept me wanting more, the writing was beautiful and the story line kept me going!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I could live off of Klune’s story telling. Heart song took me a minute to get into, only because it starts at a part in the story that we’re not familiar with, but once I mapped it all out in my head, all the other pieces fell into place. It was nice to get a good view into the lives of Kelly and Robbie. Kelly, for one, has always been the quiet brother, the one that was often always there in the background. I appreciated how Klune builds his characters to be uniquely themselves while still fitting together with the story.

So, I dove into this book with some mixed feelings, but I gotta say, it left me feeling a bit, well, torn.

First off, if you're hoping for a breather in this book, you might as well forget it. There's never a moment of peace or downtime. It's like a non-stop rollercoaster of action and drama. I was low-key worried because it had been a while since I read the previous book, and I thought I'd be lost, but surprisingly, that wasn't an issue.

Now, let's talk about the love story. It's kinda complex. I thought it would be a typical established couple thing, but it's not. You get the butterflies and excitement of a fresh relationship mixed with all the pain and struggles of a love that's seen some serious storms. It's a rollercoaster of emotions for sure, and it hits you right in the feels.

Oh, and heads up, one of the main characters is asexual, so don't expect a ton of steamy scenes. But honestly, you won't even miss them because the emotional connection is so strong.

The pacing of the story is a big win. It's a pretty long book, almost 400 pages, but it reads like a breeze. I couldn't put it down, and I found myself reading way past my bedtime (3:30 am, yikes!).

But here's the deal. This isn't a standalone, so if you're looking for a story that moves the overall plot arc forward significantly, this might not be your cup of tea. It's primarily Robbie's journey, and let me tell you, it left me feeling a bit disoriented at times. He's trying to find his happiness again while wrestling with some major trust issues. It's a lot to take in.

In the end, I'm kind of torn about this book. It had its moments, but the relentless pace and the focus on one character's journey left me a bit disoriented. If you're a die-hard fan of the series, you'll probably enjoy it, but it might not be everyone's favorite installment.

Reading this book made me feel like I needed to throw up, but from my heart instead of my stomach. I have got to stop letting TJ Klune hurt my feelings like this, but it hurts too good. There is something so captivating about the way that Klune uses words, the way he makes you feel what the characters do. Which sucks in the best possible way because the hits started coming in Wolfsong, and they haven’t stopped yet.
Oof, ouch, my bones, etc etc.
Amazing, spectacular, showstopping, etc etc.

The world does not deserve the beauty that is TJ Klune's work.

I’ve never read a book that made me feel like this. I cannot describe the feeling of reading it accurately. At first, you think you know what’s going on, you think you know the characters and the plot BUT YOU DON’T and it’s one hell of a reading experience. This is one of the most romantic, beautiful love stories I have ever read. Devastatingly perfect, this is the book I will remember for the rest of my life for how it made me feel while reading it. I cannot say anything more without spoiling it, you honestly just have to read it to experience it. It’s absolutely incredible, TJ Klune set the bar with Heartsong, Robbie and Kelly. Unmissable!

So this book hurt my feelings more than once. Robbie was the newest wolf addition to the pack after he was sent down to keep an eye on things in Wolfsong. He ended up feeling like Gordo's younger brother and family to everyone else. In the start of this book, we're watching Robbie do things and everything feels just a smidge off. It has to be things that happened before he joined the Bennet Pack. It has to. Except.

Robbie has to do a series of deep dives to figure out who he is and where he fits into the pack again. He doesn't trust anyone or himself for a long time. He's horrified by the things that are happening and has to fight his way back. Kelly is lovely and willing to meet Robbie wherever he is. I loved that he never pushed or lied to spare Robbie's feelings. What happened, happened and moving forward is the only path.

I am still waiting on the novella of Werewolf Cop because there's no way Tanner and Chris didn't write one.

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC! WOW! Heartsong was such an amazing book in an already great series. I loved getting to know more about Robbie and Kelly and their dynamic. Their way of loving was so pure and authentic it tugged at your heartstrings.

At times, I thought that the book was a little long and some of the choices made were slightly annoying but overall it was an incredible book! I'm so glad these books were picked up to be traditionally published.
