Fun way to dive into the After series! The art was engaging and the style of writing made it easy and fun. I read the first and the second was just as fun.
I love the after series and the books. This graphic novel however was at times difficult to follow as an ebook and especially when I downloaded it to my kindle. Reading this book as a physical copy would have been more enjoyable.
Oh my god, this was terrible. This may be the most unrealistic version of college life I've ever read. This girl breaks up with her long term boyfriend for a severely toxic guy covered in tattoos and piercings. She goes from a virgin to living with this guy in less than two months. It's all so terribly stupid. Then the big ending made me want to throw my tablet across the room. Give me a goddamn break. How is this so popular that they turned this series of novels into graphic novels? It's like bad fan fiction. Who knows, maybe it'll be the next Fifty Shades of Gray except even worse.
I love the After series and I really wanted to enjoy the graphic novel adaptation. Unfortunately, I thought there was too much text for a graphic novel and I really didn't like the illustrations. Not recommended.
I loved the After series when it first came out, so seeing it illustrated really puts a light to all of the descriptions discussed throughout the novels. I don't necessarily love how the author had to cut some of the minor details out, but the overall book is good.
this was a fun graphic novel of the bestselling series AFTER! it kept to the point and was really easy to follow along with even if you haven’t read the series before the graphic novels. i enjoyed the art style too!
I love the After books, but this book was impossible to read. I downloaded it multiple times to see if it was my computer or something but every time the format was all over the place. There was no text in the text boxes and instead it was all over the place leaving the graphics extremely hard to follow as compared to the words.
I can't really wrap my mind about what I would think if the formatting was better because that is how messed up and confusing it was, so 3 stars?
Thanks to Netgalley for an early copy to give an honest review of.
While I love the After books, I was not able to read this book. I had a hard time with the artwork and the inconsistencies.
After is one of my favorite series ever. I think I've reread it 10 times by now and it feels so special to relive this story in the format of a graphic novel. The illustrations are gorgeous and the characters are exactly how I pictured them. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to read the next volume.
unfortunately the file was corrupt on my iPad and not something I was able to view to be able to rate and review
I’m sure anyone reading this has seen the movie or read the book, so I won’t talk too much about the story, but the art is pretty cool. The color scheme is consistent. The characters are recognizable. The scenes are shown from multiple angles to give the full story. Pretty impressive!
I love this series and I kinda hate myself for it. The drama is so over the top and it gets me every time. The graphics novels are cool though. Definitely worth a read for fans of the original books or the movies.
I have been a hige fan of the After series since its upload days on Wattpad, I feel like i've grown up with these characters so I love re-living all of their stories in a new way. To no suprise I loved Volume 2 just as much as 1 and I cannot wait to read the next one!
I found that it was best to read this in Adobe Digital Editions as the formatting did not correlate correctly on the Kindle. Volume 2 picks up right where Volume 1 left off, so if you are unfamiliar with the original story or the movies, you will need to read Volume 1 first. This graphic novel does a great job of keeping true to the original plotline. It is nice to see the story play out in a new format and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait for Volume 3.
While I love the After books, I was not able to read this book on the Kindle. I think it was just a formatting issue due to the nature of it being a graphic novel. I think this has a lot of potential in a paperback format.
The images did not align with the text and there was no context to some of the images that appeared. The art style is really cool and I would have loved to be able to see it in color. I will have to see if there is a PDF or check it out when it comes out in paperback.
I have been a fan of the After Series since I found it on Wattpad with the original One Direction Characters and watched it blossom into novels, movies and now graphic novels. Anna Todd has always been able to capture me with the work she writes.
Received a digital ARC of this book via NetGalley.
I have never read the stories when on Watpad, I haven’t read the physical books, nor have I seen the films. I figured the graphic novel would be good step to see if I would want to devote the time to this series. I did have to locate volume one to read prior to this one. It picks up the very next line so I would recommend reading volume one right before volume two.
While the original Watpad storyline is still evident in the graphic novel, I felt the graphic novel did pretty well in telling the narrative. The sex scenes aren’t as explicit in the graphic novel as I would have thought, so the demographic this is written for doesn’t change in graphic novel form.
I loved the After series and movies, so I knew I would love this graphic novel. I can't wait to have this book in the library for other people to enjoy. I know the series was very popular.
DNF as the formatting was not correct on my version of kindle, phone or tablet.
I love this series so I was very excited to read it in the graphic novel version. Though because of the formatting of the ARC on my Kindle, it was very hard to read and coordinate the words with the art. I uploaded the arc on my phone and tablet but the formatting is still hard and won’t let me properly read the story. I will be reading this graphic novel physically when the finished copy comes out as I enjoy this series.
