I loved this book! If you enjoy a college romance, this is the book for you. I read it in a weekend. This is the perfect little escape!

Oh my gosh I finally ended up finishing this series and book. It was so good! It is the perfect book to add to your fall tbr. So fun, cute, and sweet!

I love this series so much. Everything Amanda writes makes me so happy. I loved the communication between the two of them. They weren’t messing around this time around and I LOVED it.

This book was almost a DNF but when I hit 23% I HAD TO finish it next day so if we have the same reading styles/moods, push through, this was such a cute one. I didn't realize this was a stand alone related to previous books and I think the bits I was lacking, probably wouldn't be if I read the previous books. I also hugely struggle reading time jumps and this flips from April 2020 (not real 2020 which is a separate gripe) to "Today" 2024, which again is a me specific issue, It's very clear in the book. If time jumps don't bother you, then you should be fine.

Let's start with a quick critique, and then we'll jump into the bits I enjoyed.

In the beginning I was a bit offput by keeping the timeline starting in 2020, but now that I know there's quite a few previous related books, I suspect the timeline couldn't change. Threw me for a loop to read someone getting black out drunk in Mexico at a club full of people in April 2020 when I was having sourdough struggles in my kitchen, but I digress. Another bit I struggled with was I could not understand the behavior on the Mexico trip. Their mothers brought their maybe 18yo daughters for April vacation to Mexico to *checks notes* run rampant with 4 other boys including going clubbing off resort (not even initially with the boys, with 2 other men strangers) and not even meeting the boys' chaperone till mid trip? I get that they're technically adults but something about the whole trip was just so strange to me. And/or I'm too old lol. And last but not major point, the beginning is so Mexico/Then heavy I struggled to get through it, I was wanting to skip to Michigan/Now. When I got a bit more current then I found balance. Totally a me issue though, the author did great with the time jumps I think.

Ok the good stuff (see spoilers)! <Spoiler> I LOVE that Jess holds to her dreams and doesn't drop everything when Jack reenters the picture. I love the awareness that she's young but that she's worked so hard to be a teacher and doesn't drop her dream. I love the lines, it's the time to be selfish, because it's so true! I also loved that Jess didn't love hockey. Not everyone does, I get it, so her character was supportive but didn't just automatically pick it up like some other hockey books do with their FMC. That detail, explains why there's not a lot of hockey in the beginning too. Also appreciated that Jack ends up playing in a different league. I know the dream is to play NHL, but the reality is most play in OHL/AHL, even lower, sometimes, that's the end of their hockey career at all. Not everyone gets to the big leagues immediately or ever, and it was nice to see a hockey player character accept something other than the NHL path. I also loved that the Silas/Sofie bits were amicable. Not every ending has to end in drama to advance our characters growth, and I loved how the author ended their relationships in such a modern adult way.</Spoiler> I appreciate the authors hockey knowledge too, as someone who actually follows hockey, the incorrect details can pull me out of a story, but this author knows what she's talking about, and I didn't have this issue at all in her story. I also love that Jack is a goalie, I feel like most hockey romances are about forwards and centers, but what about our defense man and goalies?! They need some love too haha. I also really loved the family dynamic, so I'm very excited to go back and start from the beginning of the timeline to see this dynamic form.

Again, knowing there's previous books, I will absolutely be going back to read ALL OF THEM. Did I struggle a bit? Yes. But this author is well written, and I ultimately really liked her modern takes on current life experiences, so she's definitely one I'll be following for future works too.

I absolutely loved this second chance/dual timeline book!

I’ve read a few books by this author and she does an amazing job writing well developed characters, great scenes and incredible chemistry. I loved the main characters, the love and devotion they had for each other and their own goals too. My favorite was the no third act breakup. Now I want to read more hockey romance books.

If you’re looking for a small town, college/spring break trip romance, this book is for you!! Jack and Jessica are my favorite and I’m going to miss them. Now to start a new series by Amanda Chaperon.

I feel like even though this could have been read as a standalone, it is book 4 in a series and probably could have been more satisfying had I had the context of the previous books.

Really cute right person, wrong time story.

The two main characters meet over Spring Break and have a fun, wild fling. Not wanting anything serious since they are in college and have future goals.

Then when they meet again, it’s just so perfect how their story comes together.

Some parts were a little slow for me but overall a good book.

This author really knows how to draw me in. The story is fantastic and I love all the characters. I can’t wait to read what the other comes up with next.

This Spicy second chance college romance is on fire!!! It takes place at Michigan State and it is a Hockey Romance as well. I really enjoyed Jack and Jessica's story and I will definitely be reading more in this series!

This turned out to be more of an epic love story than I was expecting! Jack and Jessica meet in Mexico on spring break when they are 18, and they are clearly meant to be together. Both have big college plans though, so agree to enjoy their holiday romance rather than drag it home into a long distance relationship. If they are right for each other, fate will bring them together again.

Which it does. Four years later. Expect it turns out they’ve been at the same college the whole time! Very bittersweet. They finally reunite and fall head over heels in love. Their story follows the journey of trying to manage their own dreams and ambitions, without having to let each other go. I loved how absolutely gone for each other these characters were - both so endearing. It was just so cute. Ben then also extremely spicy at the same time?!

I loved this book! The writing was great and the characters were wonderful! The author has great imagination and I love a good romance novel!

'A heart worth finding' was a good read! I had lots of fun. The characters had good chemistry and the chapters in the past were my favourite bits in the story.

This book is part two (or four, the author has pulled two books for a thorough rewrite..) in an interconnected series. I have not read the previous book(s) but had no trouble understanding this one. It probably would have been even more fun if I did read the others beforehand, I probably missed a few inside jokes and did not know all the backstories of the other characters. But I did not mind at all. The characters were introduced in a very natural way so readers who didn't read the other book(s) (like me) also know what is going on.

The tension between Jack and Jessica is out of this world. I loved it so much! Flashbacks/chapters in the past are an absolute hit or miss for me. It can be really annoying and distracting or it can elevate the story. And 'A heart worth finding' was absolutely the latter. This story would not be as good without it. I'm happy the reader literally gets to spend time in the past and read about it in the present tense and is not just reliving it through the eyes/imagination of Jack or Jessica. (I hope I explained that right. Time is complicated..)

The conversations about virginity were not my favourite. Virginity is a construct and I disliked how much dialogue was given to the subject of virginity. The shame that was put on being still a virgin (even if they put it on themselves). That was one of the few things I really disliked.

Lastly I want to say how much I appreciate the honesty between our MCs. They fell in love in a really short amount of time. Less than a week. And they were honest with each other. They were not playing games or toying with each others emotions. And I really appreciate that! When they reconnect years later, they still won't play games and I found that really mature and respectfull. I would like to see more of that in books. Mindgames are overrated. Honesty is the way to go in my opinion!!

Amanda Chaperon wrote a really fun book about second chances, right person/wrong time, icehockey, friendship, family and found family, set at a college/university. I loved the chemistry and honesty between Jack and Jessica. And I really want to read 'Every rule worth breaking' to learn more about Kenzie & Aiden, because I appreciate Chaperons writingstyle and these characters secretly stole my heart!

Well, when I read synopsis about this book, I didn't know that is a part of the series. So, yes you can read it as a stand alone, vut I bet it is hundnred times better to read it as a part of the series.
I have Pros and Cons for this book-
First Pros :
I am soooo down with the second chance love trope.
Sports romance ( hockey) - big plus.
Collage romance- huge plus.
Loving families, and good friends - jack pot.

Cons:
Well, I have only one con - and that is that When they finally got togheter, I did get that high that I hope I would feel. It was just like - yay we are together now.

That is why this is not a full 5 stars for me. (4.5 stars)
I loved that he followed her, and not the other way around. Yes, said that, I am sad, that Jack has not got his chance to play in NHL. I know he was happy just to play hockey, but still, I wanted that for him.

So, this was a really good one, I would toally reread it!

I absolutely instantly want more from this author. I loved her story telling and character and plot development. just such a great book to read.

This was a very cute and fun read. Not my favourite tropes but I think this book was written well so I did not think about it that much. I love sports romance very much, so this book was right up my ally. I felt that the book was a bit slow in the beginning, but devoured it once I had read about 1/3 of the book. I would love to read more by this author in the future.

So, so good. I absolutely adore these two, and I was honestly sad to reach the end of the book but at the same time really happy for them both to get their well deserved HEA.

ANOTHER HOCKEY ROMANCE?!

That's what I thought picking this up, but OHMIGOD it DELIVEREDDDD. I absolutely devoured this in one sitting and have zero regrets! Jack and Jessica's romance had me gripped from the first page, and I was on the edge of my seat rooting for them. The second-chance aspect left me wanting to bundle them both up and make them kiss and be happy forever. It's done to me what the Briar U series did to me, and I missed that feeling. Overall, I just really bloody loved this book!

The story line for this novel had a lot of potential, especially as an MSU alumni. However, I found the flashback to be boring and repetitive. I found myself dragging through it and skipping parts. It was so fun to be able to read a story about where I did my undergrad, but it read a bit young for me. All opinions are my own, and NetGalley provided the arc.

This right person/wrong time romance was done beautifully. I enjoyed the time line jumps from their whirlwind romance in Mexico to their current life with current struggles and their dramatic reunification. And the dual POV made it even better. Fate played a huge part in their story and I love that spin on it. I love when a book has interesting supporting roles and Jess and Jack definitely had amazing supporting characters. The only side character I wasn't a fan of was Silas. He gave me the ick. The book references inside of the book were ✨ chefs kiss ✨ I mean come on! A Cassian reference?!? Great romance with a side of hockey.
