This is book 2 in the For the Love series.
It follows Jack and Jessica. They previously met in Cancun and had an amazing week together, but things just weren't meant to be then.
Now they are both seniors at Michigan State, but they don't know that.
This is a cute story about love and timing and how we are sometimes thrown for a loop.
This was such a beautiful story! I loved the dual timeline and the way that Chaperon connected the feelings of the younger and older Jack and Jessica. As always, I love when an author has a wonderful community for the main characters, with warm and loving relationships with family and friends, and this book was no exception! Finally, this book has a perfect blend of swoony, romance-novel magic and the main characters working on their relationship and on themselves and considering the implications of life, career, and relationships.
I’ve been on such a hockey kick lately and I’m not hating it! This was such a sweet and steamy hockey romance!
Thoughts:
-I loved the dual timelines of Jack and Jessica’s relationship and think it helped show the ease they felt with each other
-The past scenes were of Jack and Jessica meeting on vacation and I loved that the past was such a fun vacation romance, I would have read a whole book on every detail of the past. The idea of having this whirlwind vacation romance and then never speaking again always fascinated me
-I’ve been a sucker for second-chance romances lately and this one was just so sweet. You could feel the love Jack had for her
-Jack is such a cinnamon roll book boyfriend character
-I loved their chemistry and how trusting they were of each other
-Jessica’s family was so fun to read and even though we got a lot of them, I still wish we got more!!
-I loved the idea of fate intervening with Jessica and Jack multiple times throughout the book
-My two reservations were 1) I think at certain points things were a little slow, but not enough that I wanted to stop and 2) I didn’t connect with how fast Jessica and Jack became obsessed with each other. I’m not an insta-love girlie and this felt very insta-love
All in all, this was a super enjoyable read! If you love hockey romances, give this one a try!
Thank you Amanda Chaperon and Netgalley for a #gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
I loved this book! I was originally drawn to the cover and the storyline, but the characters were amazing and I loved them. The storyline was greatly paced, which caused me to devour it.
My first book by Amanda Chaperon and it was sooo good. Have can I missed all her others books before? Huge disappointment by myself.
It probably first with with "seconde-chance romance" that I loved. Maybe because it was not clearly a second chance. Just a 3 years time gap. And no cheats, or lies. I loved that in this book. Just believing in fate and open hearts.
Welcome to the gang, Jess and Jack! I wasn't quite as drawn to this one as I was "Every Rule Worth Breaking", but it was still a solid read for me! Much more time was spent in the past / when J&J first met than I was expecting, and I don't know if I preferred jumping back-and-forth in time vs. all of the past events occurring and then a time jump forward to the present? I will pick up another book in the series if she comes out with more couples. As a new SJM fangirl, I enjoyed the ACOSF reference. Not necessary to have read the earlier novels, but I think that it helps to understand the sibling and friendship dynamics.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Jack and Jessica were caught up in a whirlwind romance on a post high school graduation trip to Cancún, but it’s hard to believe you could meet the love of your life and fall so hard so fast. So after their week of vacation bliss, they decide to part ways instead of surviving college off the scraps of time they could give each other and hope that if they are truly meant to be, life would bring them back together.
This was such a great second chance romance with two people finding their way back to each other. I loved all the emotion that came through with these two missing each other in the times they were apart and the absence of jealousy even though there were others in the time in between. The dual timeline flowed well for their story and the balance of sweet and spicy moments was ✨chef’s kiss✨ - including the Cassian and Nesta inspired spicy scene!!

An insanely cute read with great spice, amazing characters, and a super sweet HEA. I really loved this and read it in one sitting. *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I really wanted to love this book. I thought I would since I enjoyed other books in the series, Unfortunately, I had trouble connecting with the main characters. The pacing also felt very slow. which made it hard to keep my attention. What I did love was the opportunity to be back on campus at Michigan State and to be reunited with other characters from the series. I loved seeing how their relationships had progressed since their book.
Look, when a book has a One Tree Hill quote in it, I'm sold.
This was such a fun book to read.
I loved seeing how Jack and Jessica find each other years after falling in love during spring break.
But they're not seniors in high school anymore. They have to start making difficult decisions about their futures and their relationship.
This book makes me want to read all the other books by Amanda Chaperon.

“That is the one who got away.”
First, what a perfect name for a female main character. It’s like the very best choice 🤌🏼👀
Second, I think I’ve said this before… second chance books are my weakness. Can’t resist them. Can’t help but give my soul to them. And Jessica & Jack’s story had such a sweetness to it — even through the heartbreak — that for a moment there I thought my heart was going to explode 🥹
“And for the first time in as long as he could remember, Jack DeLuca cried.”
And I cried right then and there too because ah, to be young and have your heart broken. It’s one of those defining pains that we all must go through. I agree with her, the right person but at the wrong time. Now, she is way more graceful than me because I would have lost it after finding out where he went for college 😮
I would have also lost it during the “closet” scene. Even if love wasn’t in question, I would have had some words with those two. I mean, I’m a passionate person 👀 It would’ve been impossible for me to handle that situation with calm and grace. Well done, book Jess. Well done.
Is it too much to wish for… to have books on both Logan and Nate? 👀 A girl can dream, right?
This book feels like remembering summer with a smile while enjoying hot cocoa outside on a crispy fall day 😌
It was such a fun and delightful read! I've been reading more and more second chances and I love that trope. This book was good. It did take me a while to get hooked tho.
Happy release day!!
Thank you for the ARC
I really loved the characters in this book and the development they have. The dual timeline really helps with this development as the reader gets to see them as less mature high school seniors and as college adults years later. I really enjoyed the dual timeline (although I loved the present day chapters more than the past chapters). Their vacation romance was cute but a little too instalove for me personally.
I absolutely adored Jess. Her friendships and relationships with her siblings were so fun. It was heartbreaking to see her dating a guy that didn't treat her with respect, and even more devastating to realize that she knew that but was still with him. Jack was a great guy, and I enjoyed seeing the various aspects of him, from the quiet observant hockey goalie to the relaxed vacationer. I'm a huge hockey fan, so I really appreciated how the hockey was woven in.
My one critique with this book would be the writing style. It just didn't always work for me. The dual POV and dual timeline could be a bit much to keep up with at times, although it helped that the book was in third person. But overall I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the books about the other characters in this one.
This was an okay read for me. I think it read a little YA to me, but then there was a bunch of spicy scenes? I liked the format with the time jumps and dual. POVs but I think a lot of it just felt a little unrealistic in a way I couldn't get around. Like what man is so perfect that he takes a job in Russia twelve hours before you leave for your job in Russia and doesn't say goodbye to his family or have any hesitations about leaving for Russia for an undisclosed period of time? It just felt like a bit of a reach to me.
Jack Jack Jack. How wonderful you are. Caring and thoughtful and loyal and kind and adventurous and how cool to find your soulmate. And Jessica, gorgeous and funny and cheeky and yes adventurous and loyal too. What a pair!
This is a tender romance about young people finding love, finding each other, growing up, testing boundaries. Beautifully crafted and plotted. I loved this - thoroughly recommended!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Amanda Chaperon for the ARC.
Amanda, Amanda, Amanda. I don't know how you do it, but you always write books that absolutely captivate me, gut me, and put me back together. This is easily one of my favorite romance series. Every single character has so much depth and relatability. I love all of the hockey boys and how they are sexy, strong, confident, and sensitive.
My absolute favorite part of this book was the past timeline POV. Oh my goodness. It was so nostalgic I could feel it. Anyone who has ever had a vacation romance, or even a summer love, will swoon. It felt like I was there. I would DIE if they didn't end up together after a whirlwind love like that. And to be honest I wasn't sure how it was going to pan out - whether it would be one of those stories where the timing is never right (*cough* Love Letter to Whiskey) or they simply would grow apart.
There was an enjoyable balance of conflict, tension, spice, and humor. I think of all of the interconnected books in this universe - this may be my favorite. Something about second chance romance and fate really does it for me.
I obviously can't wait to read more.
This was such a CUTE read! I love a good sports romance and add in hockey, yes, please. I am not really into second-chance romance books, mainly because the right person, wrong time, seems silly to me. Amanda did the trope well though!
Pros: Jack was such a lover boy and while they both fell hard and fast, he was just so sweet. From what I gathered in the beginning of the book he was searching for her in every girl he met and it never worked. I liked that neither was willing to give up their dreams for the other (I think this builds resentment for later on) but instead they both put in the effort to make the relationship work. I also liked seeing all of the side relationships (friends, siblings, etc.)
Cons: I felt like they were both immature at points which I know comes with the age and stuff but it lowkey bothered me. I saw some miscommunication as well. In all honesty, the only thing that bothered me was that I felt like if they had just talked in the first place instead of avoiding feelings they could have had all of college together. Lastly, the dual timelines/stories kind of bothered me, I would have rather seen the past discussed during the first couple of chapters and then just left it at that.
I am planning on reading more by Amanda!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!
I don't usually read sports novels or hockey romance - but look at me now, reading three hockey books in a row! 😅 I ended my August with Just Don't Fall by Emma St. Clair and started September with Flirtation and Faceoff by Leah Brunner but actually I started reading A Heart Worth Finding before either of those two. Once again I would like to thank Amanda Chaperon, and NetGalley, for the ARC - and for writing another tender and sweet novel about life and love. Both Jessica and Jack had some growing up to do, first during the years between the first and the second time they met, and then, when they finally, by some stroke of luck, got together again they were facing a future which might pull them apart, again.
This novel can be read as a standalone but for the best reading experience I recommend reading Amanda Chaperon's previous books, too. A Heart Worth Finding is a cute, fast and fun read and even though I personally didn't like one of the turns the story took in the end I would highly recommend anything Amanda Chaperon writes!

Thank you NetGalley and Amanda for the early copy!
this is such a sweet, loving, funny story! Jessica & Jack are such soulmates, I love their story from start to finish! I love how open Jack is to love & wanting to be in a relationship, and how he didn't let his original heartbreak dampen his spirits or hope in love & happiness. And Jessica is a sweetheart who seems to have trouble believing in long-lasting relationships being able to stand the test of time & space. She originally lets Jack go after Mexico because she doesn't want to do long-distance or take her vacation fling into the real world, and now when the meet and are together again four years later, doesn't want to risk losing each other when they move away after college. They both say they want to figure it out together, but it's easy to see how as college students, the prospect of long distance is terrifying & feels hopeless. Admittedly, Jessica's plans to move do create a large barrier between the two of them, but they are so in love with each other & determined to make it work, I love that they pass the optimism back & forth, keeping each other hopeful in their relationship. I didn't fully understand why it took so long for the resolution at the end to happen because I felt like I saw it coming several chapters back (kinda since the conflict was introduced) but I also appreciate that at their age, with how much hope & determination they have, not just with each other, but with their lives & dreams, it takes so much courage, love, patience, & faith to be able to move forward so dedicated to one another.
Truly a beautiful story!
Thank you for the ARC!!!
