The plot of this book is a great idea, however I do believe it could have been developed in a more mysterious and thrilling way. I would consider this book more mystery than thriller as I was intrigued to see what the outcome was, but never on edge. There was a lot of info given up front about the connections between the characters that I feel should have been left until the end to give more of that surprising twist. Overall, this is still a great read for people who like whodunnit type books! I still was unable to put this down and it was definitely a fast-paced and easy read.

Have you ever watched the series Unreal? Or Big Brother? Or Squid Games? Take those concepts and put it in book for and VIOLA you have @heathergudenkauf’s newest thriller!
This was a fast paced thriller that kept me hooked. I loved the reality tv/influencer concept in this one! As well as the different POVs, and how everyone was connected. I did however, guess the twist pretty early on, which is no big deal, I still absolutely binged it and couldn’t wait to see how it all ended!

What the heck did I just read! Gudenkauf takes the premise of the hit reality TV show Big Brother and twists it into a dark, dangerous game filled with lies, secrets, and sabotage. What I thought was going to be a straightforward mystery turned out to be a dual timeline thrilling masterpiece where every character has a secret worth killing for and when $10 million dollars is on the line, you’ll do just about anything to keep the world from uncovering your secrets.
This was a fun, highly bingeable thriller that took the idea of a reality TV and game show and turned it into a murderous trap filled with revenge and backstabbing. Gudenkauf does not supply the reader with a single reliable narrator and I think that’s what keeps the reader hooked until the very end. We can’t trust anyone so it has you questioning everything you read.
5 contestants, $10 million dollars, and secrets that would sink them all, who will be the One Lucky Winner? It truly is brilliantly put together I loved all of the characters because of how messy they were. I think this will be a hit especially for fans of Big Brother and Freida McFadden

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.
What. In the world. Did I just read?
This book is wild! I have never read anything like it. I was intrigued, invested, and excited. Heather Grahams writing is suspenseful and really pulled me in from the first page.
This book is if the hunger games and survivor had a baby.
It’s about a game show where the winner wins $10 million dollars. This isn’t like any other game show though. What are the rules? There aren’t any. Are the contestants safe? Mmm, who knows. Buckle up kids, it’s a wild ride.
I loved the past/ present thing that was happening. I loved the details into each character and how they all kind of had their own little side stories.
I loved how it all came together in the end. So much thought must have gone into writing this book to be able to have it all fit so nicely into this finished box in the end. It shows. Holy moly was I invested in what happened. I read this book in a day and a half.
The only question remains…. Would you watch?

This novel put me in the mind of a non gore Saw movie. The storyline is well put together and again, has the vibes of Saw. It has secrets, competition, and a modern social media touch. It may leave you questioning what would you do if you found yourself in one of the character's shoes. If you like a thriller without the gruesome details, I'd recommend this one.
Thank you to the publisher for an ARC copy received through NetGalley. I enjoyed the story and I'm glad to leave a review. No compensation was received for this review.

This was such a unique story. I loved the premise and the idea of all the contestants being televised to win 10 million dollars.
Here's where I had some hang-up's: I think the plot should have been fledged out better in terms of the game. I was at a loss for the rules and such. 2 weeks but 2 people would have been eliminated within the first 4 days? Challenges EVERY day? How would they have survived 14 days of competition? Especially since the whole book ends around day 5 and it would have been down to three people. Maybe I'm thinking too much of it. But it was a rather confusing reality show game.
The plot itself was fun though. Did I see the ending coming from the very beginning? Absolutely. But I think others will enjoy this and it would make a really good movie!

I was totally sold with "Big Brother meets Clue", and I really thought I would enjoy it more because I love some reality tv. Overall this book was decent, I thought the writing was good but was a little slow for my taste. I enjoyed the plot and the competition surrounding the cash prize, but I think it overall just was slighlty predictable. I think most people would probably really enjoy this book though. I needed to have more depth with the characters and more suspense. 3/5 stars !

This was a middle of the road book for me. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. The plot was interesting, five people chosen to compete on a reality show with a winning prize of $10 million dollars. With a prize like that, of course the games with. be crazy and the contestants cutthroat. The writing itself was good, it kept me engaged and wanting to know how things would progress. I never really felt hooked, or like I didn't want to put the book down. It felt like the book was missing something that I can't put my finger on. Maybe it needed more depth to the characters? Or a bigger climactic moment? I'm not sure. The ending and reveal was relatively predictable that you can see coming from a mile away. It was an easy read to get through, I just wouldn't put it at the top of. your TBR.

I felt like this was a thriller that definitely kept me on my own like no other , what if you got an email saying you were nominated to be on a game show to win 10 million dollars! This story follows 5 contests point of views along with the host Fern. Everything needs normal at first but things aren’t as they seem and people are starting to get hurt is being dead worth 10 million dollars! Over all this kept me engaged I read it within 2 days and kept me interested the whole time highly recommend you won’t see the plot twist coming!

Unlike anything I’ve ever read before! Very entertaining but also quite predictable. I’m a huge fan of reality TV so this was right up my alley. Overall a binge worthy book from a great author. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

I'm a sucker for reality TV, so I was hooked as soon as I read the synopsis for this one. It had a Read World/Big Brother feel with plenty of suspenseful moments to keep the pace going - I read this in only a few, quick sittings! I liked the alternating POVs, but the time changes were a bit confusing. Some of the plot events felt a little over the top, but it just worked and fit in with typical reality TV drama fashion! I'd recommend this for those who are getting into thrillers/suspense and like a good twist at the end. Thanks so much for the ARC!

I am an avid Big Brother fan. The start of this gave me such Big Brother vibes and had me hooked.
5 Random people chosen to compete to win 10 million dollars. Their every move filmed. Who will win? Which cast member is your favorite!? AHHHHH
This is a fast paced read with twists and turns! Some I saw coming, some I did not!
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Different from her more grounded, though also tense, earlier novels, this one has big characters-- I mean, really big. It made it a little hard to feel them on a personal level, but I loved the pacing and plot of this novel. Set in the world of a dark reality show (or is it a revenge plot), everyone's life is on the line. A fun, different side of Gudenkauf!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this great read!
I really enjoyed this book, my first from this author and she did not disappoint! This was a fast paced thriller that contained many twists!
The story follows 5 people who are chosen to compete on a new reality show. It goes through all their POVs and switches from the past and present.
It is definitely a must read!

This is a pretty good book. Not particularly unique, but still a solidly enjoyable read. I definitely enjoyed it while I was reading it, but there wasn’t anything especially memorable. It will be a good recommendation for a plane flight, or a beach read. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Perfect popcorn thriller! You can totally read this one and see the movie playing in your head. Believable? Not really. Fun? YES! So fun! The characters all have a past that’s threatening to catch up with them. All why asking, how far will they go for 10 million dollars?

An interesting premise but hard to get into for me. A fun read but not something I'll continue to think about. 3 Stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book!
Admittedly I am a huge Heather Gudenkauf fan and this book did not disappoint. 5 seemingly random people show up at a California vineyard to compete in a Survivor type realty show where the winner gets TEN MILLION DOLLARS. What could go wrong? I didn’t find myself rooting for any of these characters as they were all fairly unlikable, based on their pasts. However the twists didn’t stop coming and even I found myself gasping at one point.
I enjoyed this book, not as much as some other HG books, but it was still very good. I’m not a huge reality show fan, which is why I think I liked her other books more.

I've been a huge fan of Heather's for years, WAY before Bookstagram was a thing. I was excited for this departure from her other books. But, after finishing it, I am not sure how to feel. I did like the plot twists, though. But I think I liked her books that left a heavy, emotional hangover. But maybe also this reminds me of Squid Games, and I wasn't a fan of that show. Normally I love unreliable narrortors, but for some reason I couldn't connect to any of them.

If you receive an email that sounds like it’s too good to be true, it very well may be. Especially if there is the potential promise of $10 million dollars. Dun dun dun. Unfortunately, for five unlucky souls, they chose to fly to a secluded location, where they put their lives at risk for the chance of winning the big bucks. I enjoyed this story. Sure, it was predictable, but I didn’t mind that. Even though the contestants had some redeeming qualities, they were terrible people and I didn’t mind seeing them squirm. The story is unique, fast paced and the next time I get an email that sounds too good to be true (since I get them all the time…), this book will be a reminder to think twice before replying.
