I thought this was really well written and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I think it will find readers at our library, so we will definitely be purchasing for the collection.
I can’t review this book since I wrote it, so I’ll include the verified five-star Amazon review written by Joe Urschel, a former columnist for USA Today:
“Peter Prichard has written a mystery that is both a vivid time travel journey back to the late ‘60s and an indictment of the folly that was the war in Vietnam. For those who lived through those years, it is a stark reminder of those fractious times. For those who did not, it is an instructive description of a time, not unlike our own, when the nation seems to be coming apart at the seams, Prichard manages to deliver all this through the eyes of two unforgettable characters,, war-weary and world-weary military police officers who try to solve a murder in spite of the resistance of their commanding officers. Once they go to work you’ll be flipping pages at hyper-speed. Once they finish, you’ll be yearning for a sequel.”
Killing Grace is set during the 1960s and a man is experiencing the Vietnam War. Although I did not particularly find the story interesting, the Vietnam War still tugs at the heartstrings of many. Peter S. Prichard is a good author and the writing style flowed very well. Anyone that likes historical fiction during this era should try to read this book.
A complex story set in the late 1960's in both America and Viet Nam. If you remember those days, you're sure to enjoy reading this. I got bogged down a few times, but when I finished reading it, I thought it was well worth sticking to it. I see there is a glossary at the end of the book and that will be helpful to some readers. After you finish reading it, you can take a moment to reflect on the past and what we have or have not learned.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. It speaks to me.
