In Purpose, Gina Bianchini explored how to take your purpose and use it for the community benefit and have an everlasting impact on the people around you. She shared how Martinus Evans was called fat by his doctor and he instead changed his life around and is not a marathon runner. Nick Jonas, Sarah Lucas, Juliet be Baubigny has used their struggled with type 1 diabetes and they have built a community helping others. She included key examples on how others found their purpose. In the book, she shared how she helped launch social media network, Ning. This means peace in Chinese. This allowed users to create their own entire social media network not just a profile. She is also the founder of Mighty, and her company helps others to discover their purpose and to how we can touch our community.

One of my favorite chapters discussed digital communities and how important focus and clarity is when designing a community. She explained the three key features to create a digital community. You must first have an idea to bring people together in a sense of community and purpose. The next step is inviting people to join the community. The next challenge is introducing them to one another and having an atmosphere where they can all interaction.

I would recommend this helpful book to anyone who is wanting to discover their purpose and in turn also to use their purpose for the greater of their community. I thought this book was a little different in the way it approached the topic of purpose. She chose to help reader understand how to create and design a community and use your greater purpose to help and connect with others. I also enjoyed the chapter on quests and having activities to connect members together and explore different activities.

I really liked the layout of this book, and the way that things seemed broken down and applicable - HOWEVER, as it progressed, it was clear that this is really just a marketing pitch, and without the software that she's selling, it's not super applicable.

I will say that I've recently purchased a course that uses her software, and it's exceptionally well done and functions very well, but for $100/month (that needs to be paid as a lump sum on $1200 for the year to get that price), it's not really feasible. All in, this book is a great manual for the folks that plan to use her software and her plan, but it's not really the scrappy self-help style entrepreneurial book I was hoping for.

Free ebook, review is my own.

Though this book had some great starting information it quickly became a sales pitch for the authors online services. Though not a bad intro into those services, not what I was hoping to gather from reading the book.

For anyone looking to identify, define and grow their purpose through building a community- this book has tips on what to consider, questions to ask yourself like: "Who is going to want or need your community the most right now?" or "what stands out for you right now in your community design journey?"
I found this to be a practical and long term book in this endeavor.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.

Purpose is a useful resource for anyone trying to gather a community around a mission and help it gain momentum. With step-by-step tips on identifying your unique purpose, building an online community around it, and keeping people engaged, this book provides a practical roadmap for living a more purposeful life alongside like-minded folks. I'd recommend it for anyone seeking direction and a supportive community in order to make their purpose matter, especially entrepreneurs looking to expand their impact/revenue stream.

I've been in Gina Bianchini's Mighty Networks business community and their passion for THIS mission is evident. That platform makes implementing your Big Purpose very easy. I've also been a member of many communities built on MN, which is how I learned of them. It's a simple, user-friendly framework for building a community if you're passionate and diligent with your direction and engagement.

I am a fan of self help books so I was excited to read this one. I do like the questions and prompts that are set up in the book to make me think and reflect on what it is that I feel about myself and what I am most proud of. Gives the thoughts that I am doing something right even when I feel I am not, those are nice especially if this is the readers first time reading a self help book. I did get a bit bored in the beginning of the book with the first few chapters, I understand this was the set up for the main purpose but it just seemed drawn out and unneeded. Overall I would agree this is the type of self help book for a first time reader of the genre, if you are someone who reads self help a lot you might be just as disappointed as I was.

This is a tough book to review given that it would take months or even years to implement and get the full value out of. I do think it contains helpful information and actionable steps for someone really looking to find their purpose and change their life over time. The beginning contained a lot about the author’s purpose, which I understand gives context and credibility, but it lost my interest a little bit and motivation to apply to my own life. Also I do not understand why books in 2023 are still referencing Harry Potter - especially nonfiction. There are so many other non-problematic examples to pull from! Overall I think this book serves its purpose (pun intended) and will greatly impact some readers.
