Nadir. That is all. THAT MAN!!!! Book two's plot picks up right where book one left off (I think there was a short time skip?) but ultimately, this was a stunning sequel that I ate up!

I am so proud of Nisha J. Tuli for all her great success with this series! I can't wait to binge read this series again and have the time of my life. The premise of this Artefacts of Ouranos series is so chaotic and intense! I'm excited to see how each book improves on the last. The chemistry and the romance is unparalleled! Fake dating? Enemies? Royalty? The height of romantasy truly! I love seeing an author of colour succeed and create a fantastical world that so extremely fun! Cannot wait to read book 3 and 4!

This book continues the fun of the first while broadening the scope and the mythology of the universe. The will they won't they between Lor and Nadir is excellent -- this book is simultaneously spicy and highkey slow burn vibes which shouldn't be possible and yet somehow is! The introduction of the historical timeline into Lor's ancestors is super interesting (albeit it's very hard to root for literally anyone in that timeline). These books are definitely more vibes than airtight plot but I'm having a good time!

Thank you netgalley for letting me read this book. Just like the first book in the series I did enjoy it, but it is a very similar story to The Throne of Glass series and a Court of thorns and roses. But while reading it I still couldn't put it down until I read what happened next. I can't wait to read the third and fourth books to know what happens.

oh Nadir! You are so dang likeable. And Gabriel... I know there's so much more to you. I hope to see a book just about Gabe. I'm happy I started this series and that Netgalley offered the first 2 books so I can now dive into the 3rd book to be released soon. Lor is everything I thought she'd be. If you like Romantasy, you'll like this series.

A very fun third installment in the tale of the heart Queen! I was thrilled to finally learn more about Lor's ancestor, as well as more about her and her magic. I am very excited to read the final installment, and to see what will happen between Lor and Nadir. IT is a fun, enjoyable read for those that really like romantasy.

Woah, what a sequel!
Rule of the Aurora King by Nisha J. Tuli is a captivating addition to the Artefacts of Ouranos series, filled with heart-pounding encounters, captivating fae magic, and a sizzling enemies-to-lovers romance that has you HOOKED from beginning to end.

One of the highlights of the book is the undeniable chemistry between the two main characters, Lor and Nadir. Her grit and spunk perfectly compliment Nadir's brooding personality and the banter between them is wonderfully written. It had me kicking me feet!

However, while I enjoyed most of the scenes between Lor and Nadir, the frequent repetition of hot and cold with Lor being all for him one second and suddenly not having any of it was *slightly* overdone, but regardless, I still eagerly turned each page in anticipation of what was going to happen next with them! Despite this minor criticism, I genuinely enjoyed this book, would still highly recommend it, and will be revered as one of my favourites of the year! I am eagerly anticipating the rest of the series!

Fake dating to go on a quest at a castle during a royal holiday? Yes. Enemies to teammates to take down a rotten king? Oh yeah. A little predictable? Sure. Did I still love it? Sure did.

I'm absolutely enthralled by this series. I can't wait to see what happens next. I enjoyed seeing this kingdom from a different perspective and all the pieces falling into place from the last book. I enjoyed the flashbacks even though the POV was so unlikeable.

I struggled with Nadir still calling her Inmate up until the very end of the book once they were past hating each other. He switched to Lor and Heart Queen and still called her that. It felt unnecessary. His red flags bumped it to a 4.5. If you love a jealous alphahole, you found the right book!

3.5 stars. I think I liked the first book in this series better, but I did enjoy this sequel. I read a lot of fantasy and I must say the enemies to lovers slow burn was really well done. This one took me longer to get through than the first book, because some parts I found a little slow. But overall it was pretty good and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever Publishing for the ARC!

This was a 4.75 star.

I couldn’t wait to dive into this one after how book 1 ends!

And boy oh boy, I was totally here for every moment of Nadir and Lor. It hit all the angsty enemies to lovers vibes that I live for.

It was interesting to see Lor continue to grow after leaving the prison and the Sun Palace. I loved getting to know Nadir more. We get all these little glimpses in the first book but he is really just a mystery, now we get to know more about what makes him tick.

The story progresses with us learning more history/world building and Lor and Nadir teaming up against his dad, The Aurora King.

This story keeps you turning the page and while not a lot HAPPENS it really sets up book 3 nicely.

Troupes: hidden identity, fake dating, enemies to lovers, slow burn, one horse, panty snatcher, he falls first
Spice. 4/5 (oh this slowburn be BURNING!)
Plot 5/5
Pace 5/5
Character Personality 4.5/5
Character Growth 4.5/5
Writing Style 5/5
World Building 5/5

While I ate this up and I LOVE Lor and Nadir I couldn’t help but wonder how freaking DUMB are they?! It was like they WANTED to get caught. The number of times they say her name or other telling things around people who could place her as the contestant that Atlas is looking for was ridiculous. They make terrible spies. Also by the end of this, I was starting to get annoyed with Lor. Just her actions/attitude

Rule of the Aurora King is the second book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series, and it’s an absolute thrill ride from start to finish! This installment is brimming with pulse-pounding action, steamy romance, and mesmerizing fae magic.

In this book, Lor finds herself under the watchful eye of Nadir, the Aurora Prince, after breaking free from the Sun King’s clutches. The chemistry between them is electric, and while their romance is a slowwwwwww burn, it had me absolutely hooked. I particularly loved the first-person POV from Nadir that we got this book—it added so much depth to his character and made me fall for him even more.

As Lor and Nadir team up on a quest that’s crucial to both their futures, it’s amazing to see Lor begin to open up and trust. The stakes are high, and the journey is filled with twists and turns that kept me hooked. The story’s depth and the evolving relationships made me dive straight into the third book—I just couldn’t get enough!

If you’re into intense fantasy with a sizzling romance and a captivating plot, this series is a must-read. I’m completely hooked and can’t wait to see where it goes next!

Overall, I found this series predictable but a fun spicy time. I recommend it. It was a fun popcorn read. I didn't like the way Lor was first person and Nadir was second person, and that Nadir's chapters were referred to in past tense. That was a little hard to read.

Thank you netgalley for the wonderful opportunity to read this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Why is this series so good! I’m hooked and I can’t get enough. Watching Lor come into her own and also circle madly around Nadir is a TREAT.

I jumped right into Rule of the Aurora King after finishing Trial of the Sun Queen. Lor rejected Atlas, the Sun King, and was thrown in the dungeon. But Nadir came to rescue her and held her prisoner himself until he could figure out what his father wanted with her. That's where we pick up. Lor refused to talk until Nadir brought her Tristan and Willow. And that's where things start.

I was almost immediately annoyed that Nadir and Gabriel's behavior toward Lor was similar. Gabriel used to call her Tribute as a means of putting her in her place, and Nadir called her Inmate. Maybe this is meant to be funny or attractive in the bad-boy sense. But I think it's the author trying to make Lor stand up for herself.

Lor and Nadir are at a standoff. He finally gives a little by bringing Tristan and Willow to her and so she decides to trust him with some of her secrets. She is the long-lost descendant of the ruined Heart Queendom. The three siblings have been hiding their Fae bodies by appearing human. Willow only has enough magic to do that, but Tristan has a little more. Lor has a lot of magic, but it's locked deep inside her. She can no longer access it. She can still feel it, and it responds to Nadir in a way that no one else has ever triggered in her. That leads me to believe the two might be mates, but none of that is revealed in this book.

Regardless, Nadir and Lor share a common enemy: Rion, the Aurora King, Nadir's father. Nadir hates him for being a terrible ruler and most of all for the trauma and abuse he's put Nadir's mother through leaving her a shell of herself. Lor hates him because he killed her parents and had her and her siblings thrown into prison as children and everything they have suffered since has been his fault. He also abused Lor to get her to reveal her magic to him...which she did not.

But that reminds me, Lor blames Nadir and Amaya, and basically anyone and everyone else, for the trauma that she experienced being in prison for no reason. She claims that Nadir doing nothing to stop the imprisonment of people who have done nothing wrong is unforgivable. She specifically states she can never forgive him for his part. This was starting to bug the snot out of me. You don't know what you don't know. And you can't be held accountable for something you don't know. You can't even ask the right questions when you don't know there are questions to be asked. How could he have known? Perhaps if he'd chanced upon the right question? But even still. We should all do the best we can with whatever information we have and when we know better then we can do better. But no one can be held accountable for what they don't know. This was a character flaw that I was beginning to think should be attributed to the author more than to the character.

Almost all of my highlights were frustrations or incongruencies I noticed. How can someone who has been locked in prison for twelve years and has fought over a bar of soap know how to do their own makeup? The random LGBTQ comments that weren't as common in this book, but still existed with zero plot enhancement. And what? Does the main character believe in socialism? Or should I say, does the author believe in socialism? That seems to be a common theme. How can anyone possibly be rich when they are poor people suffering? How can someone sleep in a soft bed when others don't have a bed at all? How can someone have jewels and go to parties when others are being tortured for no reason? It isn't the purpose of my book review to actually answer all of these questions, but I noted this as an annoyance. Also, she comments about Nadir needing to work through his issues by himself without offering him comfort when he needs it. Of course, we all are responsible for working out our own issues, but none of us exists in a vacuum. We can be plenty influenced (and helped...aka encouraged) by the comfort and a kind word from others whether they can empathize or not.

One of my biggest complaints about Trial of the Sun Queen is that Lor abruptly turned on Atlas after the last challenge. She did such a 180 from where she was that it felt jarring. She went from pursuing a relationship to "I never want to see you again." And she did the same thing with Nadir in Rule of the Aurora King. So maybe this is supposed to represent a character flaw...impulsiveness? But it feels more like a writing flaw--like a quick and easy way to create conflict or even conflict resolution. More polished writing could make the necessary transitions without feeling so jerky. It's like being a passenger in a car where the driver has never driven a manual transmission before. The shifts are jerky and rough, but an experienced driver can make the transitions between gears seamlessly so the passenger might not even notice what is happening.

I also have to note the trigger warnings. There's sexual assault and trauma--not specifically written on the page, but implied and discussed in the past tense. There's also physical abuse and trauma. Sexual content is present in the book, as well as quite a lot of language. And I already mentioned the random LGBTQ scenes that were brief but unnecessary.

There's an additional narrator, Serce, who is Lor's grandmother. Her parts were interesting, although I can't say that I looked forward to reading any of her chapters.

All of that being said, I plan to continue the series to find out what's going to happen next. I want to find out if Nadir and Lor are mates as I'm predicting. I have enjoyed these two books and read them both quickly. But I don't think the writing is as smooth or polished as I would like. I had some glimpses of similarity to A Court of Thorns and Roses, but nowhere near the quality of writing as Sarah J Maas. Rule of the Aurora King gets 3.5 Stars. Have you read Rule of the Aurora King? What did you think? Let me know!

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book! I read the first book in the series and immediately after, I knew I needed to read the second. This book had intrigue, romance, and revenge (trifecta in my head). It was somewhat of a slow start so it took me a little longer to really dive back in but when it did it was enjoyable. The main areas that I have critique for are the development of the characters and the overall pace of the book. I felt like this book was more romance and then plot, which is totally fine if that is your style of books. For me personally, I want a really fantastic plot and if romance is in there I will be thrilled! The main character showed some growth but It didn't seem to be enough after all that she's been through. I also felt like the main character always saying "I hate you" was super annoying, like just stop. Now on to the positives! I really enjoyed the introduction to a new setting, it felt so different than the previous setting in the last book. The world and the magical elements were really well thought out. I also love the inner turmoil of main character as she tries to harness her powers. The book ended on such a cliff hanger and I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

I don't know who I was before Lor and Nadir. I've become obsessed. I keep talking about them and sharing these books with my friends. As soon as I finished this one, I started the third book. I'm halfway through, and I'm not quite sure what I will do with myself when I finish that one because I know there are more coming, and now I have to wait. Please read these so I can talk about them with people!! It's the perfect romantasy!

I love the series but it’s not a good fit for my shop. That said, the world building, magic systems, and characters are all unique and enjoyable.
