Really enjoyed this one! I should have read it so much sooner! But I don’t regret it. This maybe a new obsession! I love the characters, plot, etc.

This is by far my favorite classic and honestly also one of my favorite books of all time. The writing is incredible, the characters feel so real and the story in itself is just captivating. I don't know if I will ever love another book as much as I love this one. There are so many great quotes I actually want to print them in big letters and put them on my walls. Fitzgerald was a genius!

F. Scott Fitzgerald's timeless masterpiece, "The Great Gatsby," receives a breathtaking revival in this exquisite hardcover edition. The Art Deco artworks that accompany the classic tale elevate the reading experience to new heights, capturing the essence of the Roaring Twenties with unparalleled style and grace.

This collector's edition is a visual feast, transporting readers to the vibrant world of 1920s New York City. The true-to-style illustrations, maps, and fold-out pages, meticulously crafted by artist Robert Nippoldt, add an extra layer of depth to Fitzgerald's poetic portrayal of decadence, superficiality, and the elusive American Dream. The marriage of Fitzgerald's words and Nippoldt's art creates a synergy that is nothing short of magical.

For both avid fans of "The Great Gatsby" and those discovering it for the first time, this edition is a must-have addition to any literary collection. It not only pays homage to a classic in American literature but also serves as a stunning piece of art in its own right. An absolute treasure for book lovers and art enthusiasts alike.

As someone who had not yet read this classic, this new illustrated version seemed to be the perfect opportunity.

I really enjoyed the illustrations. They did add a lot to the ambiance. To be honest, i thought the book itself was kinda dry and boring, so the illustrations relieved some of that.

The book itself was dryly written and kinda boring, to the point where i wonder why its considered to be such a great book, and a real classic. The beginning of the story was a long part of nothing happening and later chaos started, where i even barely understood what happened.

Im kind of hesitant to write this review since it must be a classic for a reason, but it is my true opinion.

So credits to the illustrator for making this classic a little less boring to me!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review!

Oh, I love this edition! The just-published illustrated edition adds so much depth to the Jazz Age America tale of wealthy Gatsby and friends. Reading the classic novel in high school, I struggled to understand its symbolism- or its significance. While re-reading (and the famous recent movie) helped me appreciate the story, I saw the combination of characters and setting really unfold by enjoying this new edition. I recommend it for gift-giving and guiltless self-indulgence!

The Great Gatsby is my favorite book of all time. This edition offers the beautiful illustrations that accompany each chapter. From the green light at the end of Daisy's dock to the eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg, the illustrations enhance the story of Nick, Gatsby, Daisy, Tom and all of the other characters. This is a beautiful edition that I will gladly add to my collection.

This book is the essence of the roaring 20s!

Re-reading this book after many years made me appreciate the time period a bit more. The lavish parties were my favorite part of this book. The writing style is descriptive enough to pull you into the culture, but not too much to keep the story from dragging.

The illustrations in this version are fantastic. They capture the timeframe and almost give it a bit of a classic motion picture feel through art.

Thank you to Andrew's McMeel and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

I love The Great Gatsby and was so excited to see this version available. I've read books published by Andrews McMeel Publishing before, so I knew this one had to be great. Robert Nippoldt did an AMAZING job on this. I've owned my copy of The Great Gatsby for a million years, but if I needed a new one or didn't already own one, this is the copy I would buy.

Oh. My. Lanta, this book is a beautiful production.

_Gatsby_ is one of the few required-reading schoolbooks I've read multiple times, in and well after high school--probably four or five times, plus an audio listen (because true confession, Jake Gyllenhall was narrating #swoon). It's one of those I get different things out of each time, forget plenty of things between each read, and am always surprised to rediscover said forgotten-things, the good and the bad.

Since I've read the book itself sufficiently over the years, I picked up this copy purely from a production standpoint--not content. And it is _beautiful_. I truly am super excited (dare I say, jazzed? #punintended) to get a physical copy; I can only imagine how it feels and looks IRL, not just on the screen--and the screen version is a thing of beauty.

Nippoldt is a new-to-me illustrator, though granted, that's not particularly hard; I'm not remotely versed in the world of illustration! I can say, though, I am very excited to check out more of his works. His bio notes he has a particular affinity for the 1920s (YAY ME TOO), and that is abundantly clear here. He does a brilliant job at bringing Fitzgerald's world to life on the page! I love the style, I love the interpretation, I just plain love it. It's so very pretty. :) And oh man ... Eckleburg's eyes, in particular. Talk about on point! Wow. Of all the things to get right, that was near/at the top of the list, and Nippoldt nailed it.

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

The story is still a classic masterpiece. I can still remember my 11th grade English teacher reading some of the iconic quotes from the book - “Gatsby, what Gatsby?”

This edition is absolutely beautiful. The illustrations within it fit the 20s time period so we’ll while the colors used give it a more modern twist. My only critique is that I wish there were more illustrations!

I will definitely be checking this book out once it is officially released so I can see the maps and fold-out pages as they were meant to be seen - in print instead of digital.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC in exchange for a review.

I received this eARC from NetGalley and the publisher in return for an honest review.

I’ve been planning to reread The Great Gatsby after reading a retelling earlier this year; when I saw this illustrated edition on NetGalley I immediately requested it. The Great Gatsby is a great book that stands on its own; my star rating reflects that. Good or bad or great illustrations aren’t going to change that. However, as I review this edition, I’ll reflect on the illustrations and this particular edition, as opposed to the story itself.

The illustrator, Robert Nippoldt is a German illustrator who has published a number of his own books, in addition to contributing his illustrations to other projects, and his work has been shown in exhibitions. An area of focus is the 1920s and 30s in the USA.

Ok, so I’m not knowledgeable about illustrations and graphic design/book design.. I thought these were fine, but someone with expertise may appreciate nuances that I miss. I thought they were interesting and set some scenes, but they didn’t add significantly to my appreciation of the story. This might be a nice edition for a collector of books or a lover of The Great Gatsby or for someone who is a fan of the illustrator. I should also note that I was reading a digital advance copy, and the illustrations may be more impactful in the printed edition, for example, the description says there are fold out pages.

If you have an interest in an illustrated edition, I recommend this book.

I've been meaning to read this book for quite a while now and I found it on NetGalley with amazing illustrations.

I knew how it was going to end, but the build-up to that point is so well-written, that the reader almost forgets about the end if they know about it.

The characters, even the secondary ones are so lively, that the reader can only pay attention to everything they say and do.

The descriptions bring the book to life. They immerse the reader into the book, the place, and the time of the book. Every detail matters to the author, making it important to the reader.

I loved the illustrations too! Bringing a better perspective into the book, the characters, and the details.

Amazing book. One of my favorite classics!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook!

The Great Gatsby is a classic for a reason. The story is captivating, maddening and thought provoking.
This illustrated edition made the reading experience even better. The drawings are beautiful and add a wonderful touch to the atmospheric writing style.

Your fave classic is back and.... beautifully illustrated.

We all know of the great Gatsby. The story is full of 20s glamour, shattering of the American dream, heartbreak and booze. A breathtaking tale that takes you back to the roaring 20s, among Gatsby and Daisy.

I was delighted to have another chance to reread the great Gatsby and doing so with these GORGEOUS illustrations added so much more to the story. You best bet I will be buying a physical copy of this and so should you.

A classic. I've read it a couple of times for various classes and always thought it was a little over-rated. That said, I understand why it has the position in history that it does. This illustrated edition was great.
