This paranormal mystery follows a group of investigators on vacation who are tasked with solving a puzzle to help a ghost escape. The story is fast-paced and enjoyable, with familiar characters and a focus on money. The characters feel familiar from previous books by the author. However, some portions feel like flukes, and the dogging struggles could be more intense. The story is suitable for those who enjoy cozy spooky mysteries and dog lovers, but could benefit from more evolvement and more intense dogging.
Thank you so much to Netgalley for this free audiobook version for an honest review.
This book was really great once it started to move along. Took longer than past books but maybe now since I know who the primary characters are that is where I get hung up. Kept wanting to surge ahead but I knew the good stuff would come. It did! And after that I didn't want to put it down. The end was fantastic, and I was surprised, I usually guess the who not this time....
Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
I didn't realize this was part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I'm sure some people would love this but it was definitely not for me.
Summer House Mystery
Ellen, Sue and Tanya venture out to explore a haunted house in Biloxi. There, they are attacked by a vengeful spirit. As they move along the house, they discover more and more about this ghost and try to untangle the mystery behind his existence.
This is a fast-paced, twisted, sometimes terrifying story. It is haunting. Eva Pohler has created wonderful characters. Each character is intricately described, both physically and emotionally. This results in making it very easy to envision each woman as she travels through this house.
We are aware of each personality and understand what they are feeling.
Also, Ms. Pohler has given the reader a perfect description of their surroundings. They are very detailed, placing the reader into the story.
I definitely recommend this book. It’s worth the scary ride!
Another good paranormal mystery that starts with a vacation and breaks from paranormal investigations and results in exactly the situation they were entirely avoiding...
'It's always about the money' they say... and more often than not, most of the crimes are! This group of paranormal investigators were vacationing in a new house when strange occurrences began and when the ghost revealed the truth to them in fragments, they had to solve the puzzle and help him pass on to the other side.
The story was totally fast-paced and I actually enjoy my mysteries to be so else I just lose interest. The characters felt familiar to me as I have read other books by the author too. To me, it felt good for a one-time read but I would love to see more evolvement in dogging the struggles and making them a little more intense, some portions just felt like a fluke(you can't get away that easily in reality). This one is for the people who love cozy spooky mysteries, and if you are a dog lover, there is an extra treat for you.

Thank you @netgalley @evapohler @dreamscape_media for the digital ARC
Definitely a cozy mystery vibe with 3 friends giving the Golden Girl vibes (Ellen, Sue, and Tanya) exploring a mysterious haunted house. I have to say the characters were lovely and easy to like. The story was not bad, but there was just so much that felt unbelievable and too easy about it. From how they stumbled upon it to how they figured it all out and just the whole ending. Great for a quick read where you don't really have to pay attention or think to much. I think I was expecting a little more. Also, Eva was an ok narrator until she had to do different voices. Then I just couldn't.
Thank you NetGalley for the arc.
Definitely not for me. This is a very southern, Christian, middle-aged woman in a bad way type book. This shows in both the writing and the characters are so ignorant and disrespectful.
The trio are at it again. While on vacation the ladies find themselves smack dab in the middle of another paranormal mystery investigation in Biloxi, Mississippi. This one was a bit different and I really loved how a certain book played a role in the story. This is a cozy read for anyone who enjoys women's paranormal mystery.
The ladies are at it again, getting into trouble, solving mysteries, and sending ghosts on to their afterlife. This is a cute series and I love their antics and relationship! I will always be down for reading a book in this series!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Super cute cozy mystery with some paranormal thrown in.
I enjoyed this book, the characters and the narrator.
Summer House Mystery is a fun mystery with a group of your best girlfriends or “favorite aunts”. It’s hard to figure out what kind of a situation they’re going to find themselves in next.
It was great fun listening to this while I was working.
I did receive a free audiobook copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
This book was definitely not for me. It was completely coherent (even if there were some potential inconsistencies with the spirit communication), just not to my taste. It was definitely a cozy mystery-possibly too cozy- at least for me. I’ve also never encountered a Christian take on paranormal investigation- I wouldn’t have even thought they could be combined. But if you’re looking for a wasp-y folksy southern Christian paranormal cozy mystery that’s more cutesy than spooky, this could be the story for you.
Author Eva Pohler did a fine job narrating the audiobook.
Thank you Eva Pohler, Dreamscape Select, and NetGalley for providing this ALC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.
The narration is lovely and the story is interesting. I guess I should have checked and saw that this lovely book is in a series because I was missing context. I still like it though.
Preface: I am not the intended audience for this book, but here is my take on it.
Rich, southern, Christian, paranormal investigators in the coziest of mysteries, with a lot of girlfriend getaway vibes except for the pesky possessed personal planner. Every time the haunted planner was mentioned, I wanted to chuckle. It's a great spoof premise, but this was not a spoof.
The cheese is strong in this book, with the exception of the nuns who are beat up and one killed. The ghosts communicate using blood on paper, an ouija board, and then, despite the labor-intensive spelling games, also sometimes just appear and talk to people. Convoluted. Money buried in only Ziplocs remains pristine for a really long time underground, yet when I freeze anything in my Ziplocs they spring leaks. One of these women carries a gun and whips it out constantly, which, even for this Chicago native, seemed ridiculous. Although gun culture in America does in general for me.
If you are looking for fluff, nice ghosts, not much violence, and some Christianity delivered by some good ol' gals, this is for you!
I was really looking forward to the premise of this book: a cozy mystery with supernatural and paranormal elements. The setting of New Orleans held such promise to make it even more spooky. Unfortunately, this book ended up not being for me. The jokes were not in line with my sense of humor. Overall, the writing and plot did not live up to my expectations for the premise. I'm sure there will be an audience for this book and people who enjoy it; I just do not fall into this category.
