Chloe Liese is, in my opinion, one of the greatest romance writers of all time. With You Forever is a beautiful story about finding love in unlikely places and the lengths we will go to see those we love happy. It also has Liese's wonderful representation of chronic illness and autism—something that the romance genre desperately needs more of. A stunning triumph of a love story.
This is one of my absolute favorite Chloe Liese books, and I have read almost all of them at this point. So forgive me for just gushing my love of this book everywhere.
The marriage of convenience trope is one of my favorites, but often doesn't work in more contemporary romance, but this one is so well done it's my new standard. As always the writing is so well done, with layers to the plot and characters that make this a book that is so heartfelt and entertaining I am always happy to re-read it. Rooney and Axel's relationship is handled so beautifully that it makes my heart ache. The fear and longing and hope pulls at the heartstrings but still resolves into a healthy realistic beautiful relationship that lets each character navigate their own complex inner turmoil.
As someone with autism, I am always extra giddy to read a book with neurodivergent representation, but especially from Chloe Liese (a fellow late-in-life autistic). Axel is so well written and it is genuinely so wonderful to see Neurodivergent characters that are so fully realized, but also get a happy ever after and have people who love and accept them (while also letting them have problems and live messy authentic lives too).
The addition of the new epilogue felt like a welcome home/welcome back that made even re-reading such a delightful experience.
“Thank you for all the ways you take care of me and our pets I made you keep” is literally my love language. I enjoyed this one! Once again diving into a series without even realizing it and starting with book #4. These books can thankfully be read out of order.
Liese truly outdid herself with the marriage of convenience trope (in a way that totally made sense) and grumpy sunshine. This is my third book by this author and her commitment to highlighting characters with various representations is commendable and refreshing in the romance genre. The writing flowed, the romance and yearning was so sweet, and I loved the side characters. They’re definitely side characters you want to read more of and it’s awesome that all the Bergman siblings have a book! Can’t wait to circle back and read them.
I’m not a fan of the new covers, much prefer the original ones. But they’re certainly eye-catching.
This book is probably the sweetest and gentlest in the Bergman series. Rooney and Axel were the coziest couple ever. Their marriage of convenience is one of the best I’ve ever read. The bonus epilogue was so freaking sweet and endearing, I wish we got just a little bit more!
One of my favorite Bergman books! Axel and Rooney are so sweet with one another. Axel learns to open up to Rooney and Rooney learns to love the little things in life. The cabin, quiet life, and sunset hikes just made this such a sweet romance and I was so happy to read their happy ending!
Hello Book friends!
Today I’m reviewing With You Forever by Chloe Liese, the fourth book in the Bergman Brothers series. In this fourth book we follow the eldest Bergman brother an artist and recluse and Rooney Sullivan the exact opposite of Axel Bergman, she’s sunshine to his grump, when their paths meet they find a proposition they both can’t resist.
Okay, first, let’s talk about the revamped covers of the Bergman Brother series?!?!
Aren’t the gorgeous?!?! I love the new illustrated characters, the backdrops that match perfectly with the story, and the color scheme is stunning.
It’s truly chef’s kiss. 👨🍳🍳😘👌💋
Now, let’s chat about the book itself. I am a huge fan of Liese’s. After reading Two Wrongs Make a Right I wanted to get my hands on everything she’s written and when I had the opportunity to read the new editions of her Bergman series (including additional content), I raised my hand and my answer was, yes please.
What I love most about Liese’s writing is how she creates these vivid characters who leap off the page with complexities we see in ourselves and the people we love. And as someone who has two kiddos with ADHD, it’s always refreshing when an author takes the time to include characters who aren’t just neurotypical, cis gender, and who don’t face any type of medical challenges. You’ll see what I mean when you pick this one up. 😉
With You Forever checks all the boxes of marriage-of-convenience, grumpy + sunshine, opposites attract, romance readers will be hooked by these two unlikely characters who never imagined something resembling forever.
Happy Reading ~ Cece
Chloe Liese's writing will never fail to knock me off my feet and this one certainly did. The setting was stunning, as were all the animals I want to cry about. Ugh I felt at home. Axel and Rooney had such wonderful chemistry and I was just so happy when they worked things out. Always love Liese's slow burn and lowkey thought she would cave early on but that did not happen and it made their romance even better.
Did I mention this was grumpy/sunshine marriage of convenience? I didn't. Well yeah. And it's magical READ IT NOW xoxoxoxoxo
Massive thanks to NetGalley & Berkley Publishing for the gifted arc, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.
With You Forever by Chloe Liese is phenomenal & heartwarmingly emotional romance in an epic series about my favorite family of all time, the Bergmans. With You Forever is book #4 of the Bergmans but you can easily read them as standalones. However, once you read about one Bergman, you’re going to want to read about them all! I love them all & their partners so much!
Chloe Liese cleverly & sincerely writes just phenomenal romances with fantastic banter, humor, spice & always such amazing disability representation! This book has a hero with autism & a heroine with chronic IBD.
With You Forever is a grumpy meets sunshine, forced proximity marriage of convenience that I gave 5 stars!
With You Forever Is perfect for fans of…
💜Marriage of Convenience
💜Best Friend’s Brother
💜Grumpy Sunshine
💜Dual POV
💜Disability Representation (IBD & Autism)
I loved how considerate they were with food intolerances & chronic illness. The Bergman family is what dreams are made of & literal family goals.
Another neat thing the author does is have songs for each other chapter to go along with the read. It is always a treat to enhance the experience if music is something you enjoy.
This new edition has a bonus epilogue that immediately put a smile on my face. It beautifully rounded out an already gorgeous story. The best part about these bonus epilogues is how hearty they are. This epilogue is thankfully more than just a text from an old friends & more ike a 25 minute long FaceTime spent catching up with an old friend like no time has passed. This is the type of story that reminds me romance is alive & well & I cheers to that.
With You Forever & basically any & all Chloe Liese books will stick with me forever. I highly recommend checking out this series please & thank you very much.
I will post on socials & Amazon closer to release date & add links once I do!
In Chloe Liese's crafted world, Rooney and Axel's love story unfolds delicately, much like a sunflower finding its place in the sun. Rooney, grappling with a chronic illness and a haunting fear of unworthiness, embarks on a poignant journey of self-discovery. Axel, a uniquely sensitive and loyal gardener with autism, communicates in a special language, adding layers of depth to their connection.
Set against the backdrop of a marriage of convenience, Rooney and Axel navigate the intricate landscape of love and fear, each harboring a reservoir of emotions waiting to be shared. The Bergmans, in their own unique way, become instrumental in catalyzing this transformative journey.
Liese's narrative skillfully weaves a tapestry of emotions, painting a vivid picture of the tender communication between Rooney and Axel through their profound connection with animals. Chloe's prose, with its slow-burning intensity, adds a poignant touch to their evolving relationship, keeping readers captivated with the perfect blend of suspense and love.
Prepare to be emotionally stirred as Liese once again delivers a story that tugs at the heartstrings, seamlessly blending moments of laughter with those of heartfelt tears. In her capable hands, she masterfully crafts a tale of resilience, sensitivity, and the profound beauty that emerges when two souls find solace in each other.
I really loved this book. The mental health and chronic illness representation is perfection. The setting of the book made me want to go there. Such cozy surroundings. What made it even better was the group of amazing side characters.
I love love love love this book so much! Chole Liese writes some of the most diverse characters that make you feel so seen. there is so much depth to her characters and you cant help but fall in love with them and their stories. I feel so honor to have read this book. the whole series is fantastic and I am so excited about these coming to bookstores and being able to reach more people.
Chloe Liese is so cool! She begins with adorable covers and then makes you fall in love with the characters. The development of the story makes you fall even harder. So sweet and so good!
✔️ Marriage of Convenience
✔️ Best friend's brother (in law)
✔️ Grumpy/Sunshine
✔️ Forced Proximity
Every Chloe Liese book I pick up ends up being my new favorite and this was no exception. I loved this grumpy/sunshine pairing of Axel and Rooney and the forced proximity of it all. And the pining! And how much they both liked being around the other and how they took care of each other too and pined from afar but up close. 😍
The slow burn was torture in the best way too. I loved all the people getting in the way (literally) from Axel's friends to the two pets to the Bergmans who stopped by unannounced. It made the moment where they finally came together all the sweeter.

Thank you to Chloe Liese, Berkley and Netgalley for the ARC for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Axel and Rooney's love story is finally here! And they gently scootch their way toward their true feelings with a glorious forced proximity-induced marriage of convenience. Despite sometimes debilitating medical issues Rooney is such a positive and funny ray of chaotic light in Axel's secluded world that this grump can't but help open his heart to her and give their marriage a real chance. (And the A-frame gets some lovin' and upgrading!) Also, they adopt the cutest pets in the most awkward of circumstances - if the book wasn't already worth reading it would be just for this.
This book has such great #ownvoices (autism) and chronic IBD representations and handles both so respectfully that one cannot but feel with the characters as they navigate the complexities of their realities.
Stars 4/5. Spice: 3/5

I’m gonna be honest, I found this book incredibly cheesy lol. It was cute, but I feel like it was missing something
With You Forever by Chloe Liese is the fourth novel in the beloved Bergman Brothers series. The novel explores the budding relationship between Rooney Sullivan a happy law student and Axel Bergman- a grumpy artist as they embark on a marriage of convenience that slowly turns into something more. This novel is filled with such heart and wonderful representation. The slowburn romance between Rooney and Axel will keep readers turning the pages until they get their happily-ever-after. With You Forever by Chloe Liese is an authentic, emotional, and delightful novel about characters learning to love themselves and each other.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review
Listen, it's impossible to pick a favorite Bergman book, but this one comes close for me. Axel and Rooney's love story hits close to me for a lot of reasons and I'm extra biased since I got to beta read this one, but gosh this is Chloe at her most tender, swooniest writing. Two people who look like opposites but just what the other needs. Gosh the steam, the sexual tension, the that's definitely not my dog Axel Bergman of it all.
I will never get over that this stoic, tender man spent all of his energy fixing up his family's vacation hook up spot.
Chloe Liese can do no wrong for me at this point. Loved this story of Rooney and Axel!!!! I am so excited that the Bergmans are getting published mainstream and with gorgeous updated covers (by one of my favorite illustrators!!). This story gave me all the warm and fuzzy feels. Each of the MCs is well crafted and their story arc together is beautiful. I love the Bergmans series and each of the siblings stories is so unique while being intertwined into the larger family.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the opportunity to read the eARC of the upcoming version of this story!!
Move over Ren and Frankie, these two are my new favorites.
I've loved Rooney since she first came onto the page in book 1. She's sunshine and happiness and it was wonderful seeing her quiet side. Axel has been bit of an enigma and yet he's exactly what I expected. Together these two have comfort and caring and loads of open conversations.
Plot wise, it was so good. This delicious slow burn of acquaintances turning to marriage of convenience turning into love was everything I didn't know I wanted. It was so enjoyable reading these small joys, the delight in the wilderness, and the added bonus of a sweet dog and tiny kitten. OH AND HAVE I MENTIONED THIS AWESOME FAMILY?
Overall, this definitely takes the top spot for the best of the series and makes my list for books to read when I need a pick me up.
**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**
Once again I am crying after finishing book. I'm going to write an actual review for this, but I just cannot stress that this is how you do cishet books right. There's no gender norms and there's constant breaking down of toxic masculinity, there are virtually no gendered terms in regards to relationships. There is open and honest conversations about sex. There is emotional conversations about romantic versus platonic love and affirmations that you only should be in a relationship if you want to. There's no amatonormativity or heteronormativity and I just cannot get enough. Please read this freaking series.
Now to attempt an actual review. I was extremely lucky to be given an arc of this book through NetGalley and I love this book with my entire being. I really enjoyed Rooney and Axel when they were secondary characters in the past books, and so I was thrilled to see them get their own storyline. The way that chronic illness and disability and autism and anxiety are all written is so immaculate. It's going to leave you feeling connected to these wonderfully flawed characters. And they're not flawed because of their disability, they're flawed because they're written as human. They make mistakes and do the wrong thing and are constantly working to figure out the best way for them to be happy.
If I had to use just a couple words to describe this book it would be soft and gentle. It feels like a super tight warm hug and it's incredibly soothing.
Axel is up at the A-frame working on some major renovations in order to keep the Bergman family vacation home in working order. He has been struggling with painting because of his feelings for Rooney and therefore isn't able to make money off of his art at the moment. The only way that he can figure out to fund the renovations is through his inheritance, but his inheritance has a clause, a marriage clause. Except for the fact that Axel isn't into romance. He doesn't do relationships and he's not interested in them. It is not canon, but I am 100% convinced that Axel is on the aromantic spectrum and I'm running with it. I'm going to take whatever representation I can get.
Anyway he is working on convincing himself that he needs to just get married to get the money so that he can save the family home. And that's when Rooney shows up. Rooney has taken a leave of absence from law school because of her chronic illness that has been getting worse. She has IBS, ulcerative colitis, and throughout this book she works through some internalized ableism and body shaming in the ways that her body is slightly different than others. Rooney shows up because she needs vacation and her meddling best friend Willa, told her that the A-frame was empty even though she knew it was Axel's time. So as you can imagine with these two and they're weird sexual tension and mutual attraction, Rooney arrives and it is awkward. There's some conversations and some running away but they end up in a platonic marriage solely for the fact that Axel can get the money.
As you can probably imagine, this non-romantic purely platonic marriage between two people who have been pining over each other for years, does not stay platonic. It doesn't turn sexual until much later, but even as hard as Axel tries to remain distant, he is slowly becoming comfortable with Rooney and they become friends.
Axel is working through an autism diagnosis and learning about what he needs and how to make accommodations so that he can be at his happiest.
Axel Is my favorite type of character. He is really imposing in the fact that he's six and a half feet tall and with a perpetual grumpiness, but inside he is actually soft and sweet and loving and so empathetic. Everything that Axel does is for the people that he loves and cares about. Just love him so much.
Rooney is witty and energetic but finds solace in the quiet woodsy cabin life with Axel.
The main issue surrounding these two is that Rooney is leaving and Axel doesn't know if he can surrender himself to love if Rooney is just going to walk away.
There is a rescue dog named Harry styles and a kitten fluff ball who was rescued after Rooney almost shit her pants in a random field and there's lots of gluten-free vegetarian food. There is camping and hiking and sunsets and sunrises. Cue a dreamy sigh. I know I said it already but I'm so in love with this book. It's my favorite of the Bergman Brothers so far and I am just soft for this family. The Bergman family Is the type of close-knit, interconnected, best friend family I dream of. They are always there for each other and willing to do whatever it takes to make their family happy. They're just so great. I'd loved all of Viggo and Oliver's additions to this one and Viggo's love of historical romance novels gets me through life.
This review is a hot mess because I am still stupidly emotional over this book and instead of waiting to compile my feelings like an adult, I am gushing about this book instead. Enjoy.
