A good romantic thriller. I would say that it can use a little more work to keep me from loosing interest at parts but overall an interesting read.
I truly enjoyed this book - a little drama, a little suspense and lots of love. The building of characters and their relationships with one another was done very well, making this provocative and deep. Reading someone's love story come to face was so sweet and endearing, making you fall in love with the Dr's. character. Very well written and exciting.
Thank you Netgalley for the read!
This was a thrilling read. I really enjoyed the story. I loved the way the author demonstrated that God can use even the worst parts of our lives for something wonderful and good. I'm looking forward to reading what books follow this one.
No Romancing the Passengers by Lee Wimmer was a very enjoyable book; the first in a series. The beginning of this beautiful romance takes place in Madrid, Spain at the School of Archaeology. There is a Christian element as well, to remind us that God speaks to all of us but we must be listening. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
.Thank you to NetGalley and Hightower Publications for this E-ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
I'm so sorry to give this review late. I won't go into the details as to why as we all know so much goes on when 'life' happens. With that said, I would like to give this review in a positive light in understanding of the tragic start DR experiences early in life, he then marries and keeps moving on in this life he doesn't quite get yet. He is against God, but things keep working out and he is wondering about a great many things. You'll find adventure and boating, and much more as you delve deeper into the book. I received this e-book for free from NetGalley and the opinions I express are honest and my own.
NO ROMANCING THE PASSENGERS is book one on the Obsessed Intentions series by LEE WIMMER. It is an exciting read with a strong Christian message and interesting characters.
Dr DR Ray, a graduate from Duke’s School of Archeology in Madrid, where he met his beloved wife Gail, decides to get away from it all, not only the sorrow of losing her but also from what he sees as the hypocrisy of the church and his disappointment in Christianity, buys a passenger yacht and takes a group of 12 people plus two crew through the Suez canal visiting places where he and Gail worked on an archeological dig that made them rich and famous. It is meant to be a pleasure cruise…..
I like the cameraderie amongst the group of people on the boat and the way that they are very real, with pasts that need to be dealt with and temptations to overcome. I like Joshua, the Jewish believer in Christ with his commitment to lead people to the Lord and his help with DR and Debbie’s strange dreams and the concept of the Lord not only speaking through dreams but also raising up believers to pray for those who are in trouble…….
The dangers the travellers are facing in their travels are horrendous and we are taken right into the terrorism that is being fueled by US statesmen who are against the president. There is sex trafficking and kidnapping and a terrible undercurrent of fear underlying everything…..
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you. I found No Romancing the Passengers a gripping and worthwhile read.I am looking forward to the next novel in the series.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Hightower Publications. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
I had a difficult time getting into the storyline of No Romancing the Passengers by Lee Wimmer. I felt like it jumped between first person and third person too much. Maybe a different time I might enjoy this book.
A copy was provided for my review, but all opinions are my own.
No Romancing the Passengers
by Lee Wimmer
Dr Steven Ray(DR) is a man running from his past. He prepares a yacht for a luxury cruise across the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. He sets out on a journey with twelve passengers that will change him and his passengers forever.
An elusive enemy is hunting the yacht Disillusioned Illusion but the DI manages to escape until the inevitable confrontation happens.
It is when past, present and future meld into one and DR needs to make life-changing decisions.
An excellent read. Enjoy!
Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher Hightower Publications for providing me with an ARC.

Back of the Book: “A man running from his past. A woman facing a new future. A voyage neither will forget.
In a world of secrets and betrayal, a world famous archaeologist embarks on a voyage with twelve passengers that will forever alter their destiny. On the surface, Dr. Steven (DR) Ray isn’t a man running from his past, he’s the ultra-confident owner/captain of his own boutique cruise, but beneath the façade is an unending nightmare that will test the courage that helped him turn from faith.
As DR and a woman passenger with a past of her own battle their demons, an unknown enemy hunts them across the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean seeking to sink the yacht and kill the passengers.
Will DR be able to let go of his past and embrace his destiny—including breaking his own rule for romance—or will they all go down with the ship?”
Impressions: I did not finish this book as a disclaimer. I felt the text did not flow in an easy manner and the story was difficult to get into because of this. From what I read it appeared to have a religious undercurrent but I’m not sure what became of this idea. I did not care for the main character from the start which also does not help.
I received an ARC of this book via the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review shared here.
I don't think I was the right reader for this book, but it was a well-written romance story with a unique and interesting plot. The characters were well-developed and likable.
A famous archaeologist named Dr. Steven Ray embarks on a voyage with twelve passengers that will forever change their destiny. The journey takes place in a world filled with secrets and betrayal. Although on the surface, DR Ray appears to be an ultra-confident man, the truth is that he is running from his past and has turned away from the faith due to an unending nightmare. Along with him on this voyage is a woman who is facing a new future. The voyage is unforgettable and will leave a lasting impact on all those involved.
Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher Hightower Publications for providing me with an eARC.
Excellent blend of action, romance, and adventure as avowed atheist DR takes a shakedowns cruise of his super yacht with a special group of guests. Prophetic dreams, special interactions with passengers and crew, and attacks by pirates all are expertly woven together to test DR’s beliefs
I enjoyed the mystery and suspense in this book. I also enjoyed the idea behind the cruise and how the passengers all enjoyed each other. The stuff about dream walking was different for me and gave me something to think about. There is another book after this one so everything is not tied up neatly at the end. I enjoyed the characters Miguel, Mike and Willie.
Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
An emotional rollercoaster of a story that has left me waiting for the sequel to hear what happens to all the characters. Its depth was amazing, with such a reminder that God speaks clearly, even to unbelievers, showing them His desire to love them.

Hightower Publications and Netgalley sent me a copy of No Romancing the Passengers for review:
A man who is running away from his past. A woman facing a new chapter in her life. There will be no forgetting this voyage.
An archaeologist embarks on a voyage with twelve passengers that changes their destiny forever in a world of secrets and betrayal. Dr. Steven Ray is a confident owner/captain of his own boutique cruise line, but underneath the façade lies an unending nightmare that will test the courage that helped him turn away from religion.
An unknown enemy hunts DR and a passenger with a past of her own across the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean seeking to sink the yacht and kill its passengers.
Does DR have what it takes to let go of the past and embrace his destiny-including breaking his own rule about romance-or will they all go down with the ship?
I give No Romancing the Passengers five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
