This was an enjoyable grumpy-sunshine read and, while predicatable, had the signature Max Monroe humor we all know and love.

Mack and Katy are an opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine duo who are forced together not only by neighboring classrooms but also by a vacation home mix-up. Katy reads in her mid-twenties, though I believe she is supposed to be older, and her emotional maturity lacks depth. She believes Mack to be a player and I never quite understood why she gets that impression and it's never fully explored.

There are two particular veins of Max Monroe's writing that I struggle with and while it is an objective preference, I feel like it's worth noting.
1. These are adult, mid-30s characters avoiding swearing by saying "what the fluff" and "h-e double hockey sticks".
2. They have an odd, fourth-wall breaking style of self-promtion. While inter-connected references are key to world building (mentioning Brooke Baker's books, who is the fmc in Accidental Attachment), Max Monroe themselves is mentioned as having written a book about Thatcher. These mentions take me out of the book experience and I struggle getting back into it.

All this to say, it was a spicy, light-drama/heavy-humored book with an adorable mmc and I think fans of Max Monroe will love this book!

Best Frenemies by Max Monroe is a charming, funny enemies-to-lovers teacher romance. Katy and Mack's enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance is full of wit and chemistry. Mack's charisma and Katy's dedication as teachers enrich their personas, while their blossoming romance is funny and hot. Rom-com readers looking for romance and humor will love the book's breezy writing. Funny classroom sequences, hot interactions, and a gratifying happily-ever-after are highlights. The charming characters and feel-good romance of Max Monroe's romantic comedy novel make it a lovely retreat.

I received this audiobook as an arc reader and I will say I highly appreciate the author I have read several of there previous books before but I had to DNF this book within 10% of it.
When it came to the narrators themselves the voices didnt match very well with the character as you would envision them in your head. MMC sounded very bro like and not appealing whatsoever even if he is suppose to be the sunshine of the book. The FMC right of the back really didnt give me a good first impression how B*tch* she seemed talking to her friend for bailing on her just not a great start to the book for my taste unfortunately.

An enjoyable novel - Mack is a cool music teacher, Katie is an uptight Maths teacher at an elementary school. Throw teacher together in a sun soaked beautiful destination and the sparks fly. I thought the author brought out the best of both characters with them; at times, I was willing for Katie to loosen up & Mack to not be as annoying, but the chemistry worked and really sizzled through the novel. Tha ks to Net Galley for the advanced copy

This was a great Rom-Com book. I loved the main characters Katy and Mack and their chemistry. The forced proximity, enemies to lovers storyline had both funny and steamy moments. I also enjoyed the dual point of view writing style. It was a quick read I definitely recommend this book!

Get you a man who, buys you a new released book by your favorite author you've been meaning to get, has dimples, takes you out repeatedly for lunch/dinner/breakfast after eating your snacks bec he felt bad, has dimples, tends to your wounds and stays w u in the hospital taking care of you, mingles in w ur parents, is flirtatious but in his limits, does well w kids, oh and...DID I MENTION HE HAS DIMPLES???

I logit forgot the feel of reading smthg so light and easy. I've been reading fantasy for the longest time now w no break and that's caused my brain to always keep on thinking ab what's gna come next but while reading romances and rom-coms u always know whats gna come next and yk its gna be good.

I finished this in practically less than a day, he writing style and plot was so easy to read and get through and gen js very enjoyable.

As for the characters, Mack (the mmc) was js perfect, everything about him js scream dadd- *ahem* husband vibes (and he was so hawwwwttt wornwjdhdjm) but I feel like Katy (the fmc) was js such a kid throughout and was acting like a tough brat but the ig eventually she got better?

Overall I feel like this was js a perfect read and esp the ending was so cute and perfect and i loved every second of itt!! Totally recommend! ✨

This book is hilarious, sweet, and steamy. The enemies to lovers is so satisfying, I’ll forgive this one for having one of my least favorite tropes. It’s a HEA with a meant-to-be style couple and a perfect weekend read!

Loved this enemies to lovers story - well, Mack was really just sweet and misunderstood, never considering Katy an enemy, and Katy was cranky, thought it didn't take long for her to come around. Great story - steamy, emotional, hilarious at times and it was great to meet Thatch et al. again. I always love a Max Monroe book and can't wait for whatever they have planned next.

This was my first Monroe book and Best Frenemies by Max Monroe was a laugh-out-loud, enemies-to-lovers romance that I absolutely loved.
What I really loved about this book was the uniqueness of the storyline.  It was just so good!
Every character was great in their own way. Unique, sweet and cute.
But Mack and Katy were the absolute best.
I will be checking her previous titles out after devouring this book.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Max Monroe for the opportunity to read this ahead of its publication date in return for my honest review.

“…clearly that 2nd of morphine has her flying high into the sedative sky now…”

The author’s note…ummm, I don’t want to even get into that. Kinda gross, not really necessary but also did make me laugh. You’ll have to check that out for yourself. Unique if nothing else

Mack Houston was such an endearing character, loved him from the start. Katy on the other hand, she just confused me. I liked her but never understood why she disliked Mack sooooo much. I get why she’d be annoyed by him and his carefree vibes at times since she was such a stickler for planning etc. but just couldn’t really understand her deal.

One other thing that drove me bonkers was when the male narrator doing a girlie laugh. Cringe to the max. Otherwise loved both narrators.

On to the good stuff because I really did enjoy this book.

👍🏻The chemistry and banter between the 2 MCs is so much fun.

👍🏻Wow. That Vicodin while in bathtub scene 🛀🫧🛁🤙🏻✌🏻

👍🏻The intimate moments of Mack and Katy were really well written and the chemistry between Mack & Katy was well conveyed.

👍🏻 I would absolutely read another book by this duo. Lucky me they have a ton of books I can choose from.

First off, I’m sad I put this off for so long. Because it was SO GOOD. I fricken love Mack & Katy so much. I am a huge HUGE fan of slow burn, forced proximity, enemies to lovers and grumpy vs. sunshine. Like so much. So the fact that this had it all, was heaven. As a teacher, I loved that they are too. Mack is so sweet and spicy, and Katy loosens up over time. It’s just great.

You can always count on Max Monroe delivering a fun romantic. This one is about 2 teachers Mack & Katie, who teach at the same school and one of them can't stand the other. They somehow end up renting the same condo in Florida for spring break and learn more about each other there. Lots of fun ensues.

I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had high hopes for this book. It's a favorite trope and I love alternating perspectives. But I just could not get into this story. No particular complaints, it just didn't work for me.

Best Frenemies is a cute, grumpy/ sunshine, enemies to lovers romcom with two teachers forced into the same condo over spring break. The forced proximity, coupled with a minor accident creates some hilarious dialogue. It was fun to experience the opposites grow together and build their relationship. There were some surprises along the way, of course, which created a buzz of anticipation to get to their happily ever after. This is a sweet, easy read and a lot of fun.

Mack Houston and Katy Dayton dr0v€ me nut$ at one point. Mack is laid back and Katy was a straight sh00t€r.

This is an enemies to lovers, workplace romance. They're both educators and their classrooms are neighbors... they were forced to work together.

I love the storyline! It was fun and swoon-worthy. It started slow but picked up the middle. I recommend this fora weekend read! Gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling.

If you enjoy enemies to lovers, this is a must-read. It is a story that is lighthearted, funny, and full of witty banter that is sure to keep you entertained. The character development is phenomenal with strong personalities and intense chemistry. The tension between the main characters is palpable, and the progression from animosity to attraction is entertaining and engaging. The banter between the two leads is witty and amusing, and it's easy to get caught up in their verbal sparring.

The novel sets the scene well, truly capturing the essence of a beach vacation and all the things that can happen under the sun. There's a sense of anticipation and fun as you wonder if the characters will give in to their desires or if disaster will strike.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

3,5⭐️ ~ arc review

i'm not a 100% sure how to feel about this book!

finishing a book def means i enjoyed it to a certain point, but i do feel like there was something missing here.

i don't feel like i could really connect with the main characters.

the mmc was a little childish and irked me at times: some of the time i didn't really find him funny or charming

i also clashed with the fmc: i honestly can't exactly pin point what it was ab her that didn't always resonate with me

these feelings were not constant while reading and mostly occurred afterwards, so with that being said here's what i did like!!

i'm a sucker for scenes where the mmc takes care of the fmc and that part def didn't disappoint!!!

Katy gives Mack the best nicknames and i really enjoyed this part in the book!!!

them being stuck together, forced proximity at its finest >>>>>>

i feel like the scenes i enjoyed the most were when they're stuck together: in these moments you learn more ab them imo and i really enjoy that in a book

all in all i enjoyed reading it!! it was fast paced, kept you entertained and honestly a quick read! if this is what you like, i'd recommend checking this book out!
