Book: Knoght of the Wicked Heart
Author: Margaux Thorne
Publisher: Dragonblade
Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars

A beautifully writer book about of the Eglinton Knight series. This is where Lady Louise has a confidence where she plans to go away and become a travel writer.

As one of the Queen’s ladies-in-waiting she has to fake for part of the year like she is fascinated with these boring nobles. And their ridiculous activities from long ancient activities. However the most boring is Lord Charles, the Lord of Somwrset even if he is extremely handsome: Even though he feels most women should be seen and not heard. That is unless she is in need of some type of life threatening aid. He is definitely like an old fossil himself and needs to wake-up and face reality.!

Except when they are forced in a situation where they are together and realize they may have formed the wrong opinions of each other.. can this opinionated Knight be a man she might love? Read and find out!

I received a complimentary copy from Dragonblade through Netgalley. All words, thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Margaux Thorne

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

This is the third book of The Eglinton Knights series. Lady Louise's greatest desire is to explore the world as a travel writer, and at the end of the summer she plans to do just that. She was obligated, however, to stay till the Eglinton tournament was over. Then she would elope with her friend and start her adventure. Then one kiss on a drunken night with Lord Charles changed everything and they both can't stop thinking about each other.
The story was intriguing, filled with adventure, drama, and passion. I was interested from the very beginning till the end. The characters were interesting and well-developed and the chemistry between them sizzled. Although part of a series, the book can certainly be read as a standalone. I have enjoyed this series so far and this latest installment also did not disappoint. Great addition to the series!
I received a complimentary copy from Dragonblade Publishing and Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

A spirited Lady and the Man Determined to Win Her

Louise was going to the Sandwich Islands, and nothing was going to stop her, not even her childhood friend, and the love of her life. Could Charles change her mind? Louise was going to marry a man she did not love—a man, much too obsessed with guineapigs. This was a disaster in the making. A tournament, an abduction, and much mischief and mayhem will keep you entertained. I recommend this book to those who enjoy historical romance with humor, adventure, and a unique plot.

Lady Louise wants to be a writer. She's determined to travel to the Sandwich Islands and write a book. While in Scotland for the Eglinton Tournament, she plans to elope with Viscount Merton to be her chaperone. Lord Charles, the Earl of Somerset, is known as the Knight of the Sun and winning the Eglinton Tournament. One kiss from Louise gives Charles the incentive to pursue the woman he can't stop thinking about. She may love Charles, but she can't give up her dream. He must convince Louise he will never leave her. A wild adventure with knights, kidnapping, thieves and passion. You never know what will happen next.
Very erotic!
I voluntarily read and reviewed advanced copy of this book.

Knight of the Wicked Heart by Margaux Thorne is another story wherein the male protagonist is a rake with no intention of marrying. The interesting twist in this story is the Medieval joust that has captured the imaginations of the public and peerage both. The men involved in the joust have been training and the ladies-in-waiting are all dressed in their Medieval best. Lady Louise had been forced into it by her husband-hunting mother and she found it all too loud. She had other plans. She and her friend, Lord Royce Merton, were to sneak off to Gretna Green and be married. From there they would hurry to London and board a ship that would take them to the Sandwich Islands, some six months in the future. She was marrying only to be respectable and she thought she could control Royce. She had run into Lord Charles when she left the office of J.M. Harvey, her editor-to-be who would publish her Sandwich Islands’ adventure after she had written an acceptable piece about the joust. They had celebrated as men do, by drinking whiskey. She was not used to it and it was too much. That was how Lord Charles found her, sitting on a wall, worse for drink, whereupon she told him, her childhood friend, she had always loved him and kissed him. It was a kiss he could not forget.

Both of these characters, along with Royce, were surprising and interesting. Louise wanted adventure and was willing to do what it took to have it. Charles, as it turned out, wanted Louise and was also willing to do what it took to have her. Royce, bless his heart, was not quite all there and was obsessed by guinea pigs, to an extreme, except for the one moment when he decided to take control in his relationship with Louse. They were well-written and characters we saw in depth. The plot was a little different but worthwhile as all the characters fought to get their heart’s desire. It was a terrific read. Well worth the time.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Knight of the Wicked Heart by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Dragonblade #MargauxThorne #KnightOfTheWickedHeart

This is a Victorian, historical romance. This was a time of great changes in society. Our heroine in this one is a very independent woman who has seen how men can let a woman down. She is insistent in that she will never allow that . There is no need for a husband when you're going to be a travel writer.

Our hero is used to being just that. Everyone knows he is special, and the tournament in Scotland will be his opportunity to prove how much he embodies the Knight of the Sun. Pride comes before a fall.

This is part of a series set around the same tournament, but each book can be read on it's own. This one is absolutely chock full of fun. Our heroine is one wild redhead with all the typical characteristics. Our poor hero has a very steep learning curve.

I loved it.

My first Margaux Thorne book and it was an absolute joy to lose myself within the pages of her marvelous historical regency romance. I was lost in the life of Lady Louise from the start wondering why she had found herself dressed as a knight in a jousting tournament but as the chapters unfolded and more of her story was revealed I became enamored with her bravery, humor and most of all her determination. It is in Chapter Two when the author introduces Lord Charles, the Earl of Somerset and the Knight of the Sun and from that moment on, I was not able to put the book down, totally engrossed in the interactions between Lady Louise and Lord Charles. This books has so many of my favorite things, such as childhood friends becoming more, a strong protective male who falls first deeply and quickly, wonderful banter and chemistry off the charts. It doesn’t stop there but also offers adventures with trials and triumph, kidnappings and rescues, attempted forced marriage and a predetermined-it’s-going-to-happen marriage. The author offers beautiful descriptions of several lovely settings taking place around lakes, waterfalls and Scotland’s untamed landscape. Lady Louise is determined for her plans to succeed and Lord Charles is determined to make Lady Louise his no matter what. This is one of those books you just don’t want to end but wanting to follow the characters to the ends of their lives.
I received a free Advanced Readers’ Copy of this book but was given no monetary compensation. I read for the enjoyment and voluntarily review so that others may know what to expect and authors may be helped by critique and encouragement.

Every Lady needs a knight sometimes, even if it’s only for his socks…

The mind-numbing months of preparation as a lady in waiting for the Eglinton Tournament were finally over. The event was upon them, and then Louise, sister to the Marquess of Marlborough, could set off on her own destiny. She would be a travel writer and the Sandwich Islands her first destination.
Celebrating her personal victory had left her a bit tipsy, and that was of course the exact moment Charles, Earl of Somerset and childhood crush, found her. That arrogant man! Dull and entitled like all the others! He would not thwart her plans. Not even when she had just kissed him and confessed she ... She had, hadn’t she?

When had his best friend’s little sister become so utterly kissable? Dumbstruck by her kiss, it took Charles a moment to realise her confession had stirred something deep inside. Oh, he would conquer her! He was a knight after all.
Now if only that sharp-tongued, headstrong, fearless little vixen would stop getting into trouble and let him rescue her once and for all.

📚 This is a delightful romp with a unique fairytale quality! The stubborn warrior princess and her gentleman viking in shining armour - these two are evenly matched, and not holding back!
Sharp wit, delicious steam and the perfect amount of (un)fortunate events. Knights, jousting, kidnapping, guinea pigs, robbers, waterfalls, peaceful lakes and feelings - so many feelings - this is one adventurous race against time to catch that ship!
Enthralling and just plain fun! Read this one as soon as you can, you won’t be disappointed!
📚 Childhood friends to lovers, road trip, forced proximity, steamy, open door

Addicting!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It draws you into the story instantly. It was an easy read, while still containing a complex story, and the descriptive writing is almost POETIC. I couldn't put it down.

I admire the heroine who fights fearlessly to forge her own independent way. He is a knight in word and deed and spirit and accepts her for who she is. Together they find their home and future in each other. Excellent, steamy and romantic read.

I received an ARC from Netgalley and leaving my review voluntarily.
