This is a good read - a clean, sweet and swoony, Latinx cowboy romance that takes an Olympic hopeful equestrian rider from Mexico to an out-of-the-way tiny ranch in California where a grumpy stable manager gets under her skin (and vice versa with her demanding ways), while she trains for the next qualifier… after a terrible incident at the last one.
Tomas runs his family stables and this entitled little Veronica who has shown up to train with all her list of demands on the place is rubbing him the wrong way - until his ex fiancée comes to town and Veronica offers to pretend to be his fake girlfriend to prove he moved on… and the pair starts to see a different side of each other and learn more of each other’s stories.
It’s a good and quick read and I need to go back to book one for the brother’s story now! I certainly recommend this one to all - very enjoyable!
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and this is my honest feedback.
This was my first book by Sol and I really enjoyed it. Her book was heavy on the importance of family in Latino culture and I loved it. I also loved the various Latino meals and all the Spanish mixed in.
I also loved the horse culture in this book. I really liked how he was a horse whisperer and helped her learn what her horse needed and how he even helped her learn about her own anxiety. The representation in this book was well done even though it wasn't the main topic of the book.
Fake dating is a hard trope to do well and she really did a great job with the transition from fake to real. I love how their love grew in the pages if this book.
If you're looking for a good closed door but still incredibly romantic book this is for you. I look forward to reading more of her books.
I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Could Veronica and Tomás trust their hearts?
Veronica del Valle knows that it will take a lot of hard work training to qualify for the Olympics after being out of competition for three years after breaking her ankle when her horse refused a jump. But could she train at Rancho Lindo with Tomás Ortega ‘the horse whisperer”?
Tomás knows that training Veronica could help save the family ranch but he has a hard time with her because he doesn’t know anything about show jumping but he knows horses. But that changes when his ex-girlfriend comes back to town and she offers to pretend to date him if he will help her after the normal training times.
I loved the interaction between Tomás and the horses with Veronica. I would love an epilogue about the Olympics for Veronica and Takuache.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ok, this was adorably cute. I love a type-a main character who is encouraged to breathe a little, and it actually turns out that we got two here! Veronica and Tómas seem to be at odds but actually are tremendously similar humans who could do each other a little good. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free advance copy.
This wonderful story is about the importance of second chances, whether in life or love. For Veronica, that means accepting limitations after her horrific fall and injury, literally getting back up on the horse. Tomas, A "horse whisperer" has to learn to accept that each relationship is different and accept love freely given.
After a rocky start, they realize each other's strengths will help reach their goals and a future together if only they can believe in a future.
Although I received a free ARC ebook from Net Galley and the publisher, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book. Veronica and Tomas butt heads when they first meet. But as they get to know each other and help each other out they realize that they have feelings for each other. Clean HEA.
You know I was thinking Cowboy romances weren't for me, but when they are written by Latine authors I love them.
Tomas is trying hard to save the Family Ranch, Rancho Lindo. He hates the idea of the famous Olympic Equestrian coming to train at Rancho Lindo, but they can't really deny any business. At first, Veronica and Tomas get off on the wrong foot but slowly they get to know each other and see that they pretty much care about the same things. When Tomas ex-girlfriend comes into town, he makes up a girlfriend. So Veronica needs to take advantage of this and forces Tomas to pick her so he can train her. Of course they fall in love.
I loved this story so much. I loved the family, I loved the connection between Veronica and Tomas. They both loved the same things. I wanted to punch Tomas when his fears took over, but he had to build the bridge, get over it and find the love of his life.
I can't wait to read more by Sabrina Sol.
Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc version of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A wonderful romance. An interesting family. Many sweet moments. Delightful series. I look forward to reading about another brother's finding his significant other. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
The Cowboy Whisperer is an opposites attract, fake dating cowboy romance. Sabrina Sol creates likable, earnest characters who are so focused on their families and goals, they almost miss their own mutual attraction.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tomás loves horses, his family and their ranch, Rancho Lindo. While helping his brothers get the ranch back on firm financial footing, he agrees to let Olympic equestrian hopeful Veronica train at Rancho Lindo. They appear to have different perspectives and initially butt heads about almost everything. But when Tomás’ ex returns with a new fiancé in tow, they strike a bargain. Veronica will be his fake girlfriend while Tomás will help her with her training. But, shockingly, their feelings start to seem all too real.
I really enjoyed this romance featuring a Mexican American family. They are genuinely tight knit, and their reactions to the book’s events feel realistic. It makes sense that Tomás would do anything he could to make his family happy. I also like the way the story clearly shows how similar Veronica and Tomás really are, between their relationship baggage, their love of horses, and outlooks on family.
There is plenty of chemistry between this pair that’s clear in all their interactions. This book is a closed door romance, though. While I was disappointed there wasn’t more steam, the story still worked well for me.
The Cowboy Whisperer was my first book by Sabrina Sol, and I can’t wait to read more. Her characters are endearing, and it’s a treat to watch them overcome obstacles to find their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received a complimentary copy of The Cowboy Whisperer in exchange for an honest review. This was a rated G romance between Tomas and Veronica. The author did a good job introducing family members into the story without it distracting from the romance. The story was predictable, but still a feel good romance.
Thank you netgalley and forever pub for a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first novel by Sabrina Sol and when I tell you that it was the heartwarming love story I needed this fall, well, with Chai in hand I can easily say that I need to read more from this lovely family. Their dynamics, history and food & you add cowboys and horses and I am a gunner!
This second chance-enemies to lovers was sweet and funny from beginning to end, Tomas is my fave and I honestly didn't want the story to end. I needed more from Tomas and Veronica...
I have so many questions as to what's gonna happen to Tomas dad? Who's story is up next? Are we going to see more from Tomas and Vero? UGH I need to know!
It was a nice story, loved the setting and the Hispanic representation. Sadly I’m not a big fan on third person writing, I wish I had known this in advance.
Thank you to Forever for this E-ARC ! This book was my first time reading from the author and I enjoyed it ! O cant wait to read more ! It was so sweet !
A sweet story of second chances. Veronica and Tomas are at odds at first. She's come to the ranch to work on her riding and he's a horse whisperer but while they might disagree on some things, they share a goal (always important). But then the woman who broke his heart turns up and everything changes because Veronica agrees to pose as his date. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. There aren't really any surprises here but sometimes you don't need surprises- just a good story and that's what this is.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Tomas not only ends up being a Horse Whisperer but he also has pretty good instincts on how to tame Veronica’s spirit. Tomas has a heart of gold but he doesn’t often let others see it. After getting burned years ago he finally meets his match in Veronica.
Veronica comes to the ranch with demands but her and Tomas soon find out how to work together with her horse training. Veronica also volunteers to be his pretend girlfriend and that really starts their hearts pumping but will Veronica’s dad and her future dreams get in the way of their new found feelings?
Great read!
We finally got Tomas' book and it was everything we could have hoped for! We found out what makes this brooding man tick. The Ortega comes back as a secondary character in this book which is always ideal to catch up with all of our favorite characters, I can't wait to see who we get to focus on next. I love getting microscopic view into each of their individual lives. We also got introduced to Olympic hope Veronic who got Tomas out of his shell.
There's a bit of enemies to lovers trope, fake dating, and workplace romance. But it all turns into so much more. This book isn't as steamy as Sol's other novels but it doesn't take away from the novel as entirety. It's all about second chances and getting back on the saddle and truly listening to your heart.
Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an EArc in exchange for an honest review as always, all words are my own.

Review: Just because Summer is over, it does not mean cowboy season is over! We all need a good cowboy romance in our lives and The Cowboy Whisperer does not disappoint! Count how many times I say “cowboy” in this review... 🤠
Anyways, I love Tómas’ big family in this book. All the small town vibes were there, with some enemies to lovers action. I also really appreciate the cultural aspects that are an important part of the story. I love learning about other cultures and can we take a second to talk about the food? Sabrina, I need recipes asap!
The Cowboy Whisperer focuses on change and second chances. I have to say, the book never fully went where I thought it would go but the unexpected can be good! I felt like the ending was very sweet and it wraps up the story nicely.
Get excited to read The Cowboy Whisperer by Sabrina Sol, the second book in the Cowboys of Rancho Lindo series, coming to all major retailers November 28, 2023! 🎉

U really ke this family a lot! They are super cute and I love how the author keeps a smaller story going for book 1 to book 2. I’m sure it will carry on through the majority of the series. While I did enjoy the book for the most part, I felt as if a chunk was missing, it needed a little more context to me. As someone who is an avid romance reader I can say I was surprised by the conflict at the end. The entire book I thought it would be one thing and it took an unexpected turn at the end. All in all I would still recommend giving this a read.
Sabrina Sol’s second book in her Cowboys of Rancho Lindo series is sure to rope readers into a sweet romance. When famed equestrian Veronica finds herself planning a comeback, she seeks the quiet and calm of Rancho Lindo, where she feels confronted by the Ortega family’s horse-whisperer son Tómas while training.
Tómas and Veronica each deal with the pains of overcoming loss and issues with trust, wondering if they can be happy following the trajectory of their own lives.
When Tómas’s ex Mia comes home with shocking news at a family event, Veronica hopes to help him save face with pretending to be his fake girlfriend—a one-night only gig.
In the bustle of working on their own problems and careers, Tómas and Veronica learn what it means to try again, even though it is painful and vulnerable.
This book is my second Sabrina Sol read and I enjoyed the tenderness of the characters amid their rough facades. Family is at the heart of this series and I’m glad to have a follow up of the characters I grew to love in the series’ first book “Second Chance at Rancho Lindo.”
There’s nothing I love more than characters who feel real, and Tómas certainly seems the kind of man that would be patient, gentle, and attentive as any great horse keeper would be. If you’re an animal lover, you will love this book. Animal lovers know what compassion feels like, and both main characters embody that in every page.
I throughly enjoyed this book, and can’t wait to see what Sol puts out in her next book of the Cowboys of Rancho Lindo series .
I loved this story. It was so sweet and so heartfelt. I look forward to reading more stories from this series. I definitely recommend this book and this author.
