I loved the speed of the book, not being too fast or too slow. The characters were written well, with lots of depth to them. I also enjoyed the fact that it was not excessively long.
It was so so good
Chemistry teacher & sports coach🤭💗
Totally devoured this book. The characters were amazing 🤩
Being a woman in STEM myself, I can assure you this was an immediate addition to my never ending TBR!
Stacey is a quirky (good quirky not “I’m not like other girls” quirky) highschool chemistry teacher who’s been unlucky at love. Enter Reese Caldwell the new head coach of the football team and we have immediate chemistry. This was a sweet small town romance that is super fast paced to keep you hooked and depicts a healthy adult relationship with no miscommunication causing a third act break up (thank heavens because I can’t keep pretending they’re enjoyable to read). I enjoyed this one a lot and am looking forward to the other books in the Smart is Seriously Sexy series!
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Christine Miles for providing this copy in exchange for a review.

After a terrible slew of no-good boyfriends, small-town chemistry teacher Stacey Kinsella has sworn of men for the time being. When disgraced football coach Reece Caldwell shows up at her school to take control of the school's lackluster football team, she's seriously considering giving up her ban. With forces from inside and out trying to drive a wedge between the two of them, will Stacey and Reece manage to navigate the treacherous social hierarchy of small-town teachers and make it?
I love these cute stories so much, and I absolutely ADORE no miscommunication and third act break up for once, it was very refreshing. The build-up to the romance was really well done, it straddled the line between slow- and fast burn quite nicely. Once these two teachers cross that threshold, however, things go super fast, and the book is over before I could get used to them being together. The plot, which had been going quite slowly, suddenly went into warp speed. It was a very satisfying end in terms of plot, but I felt it went quite fast
The writing was a bit awkward here and there, and the book could've done with an (other?) editor to check for punctuation and word-choice, and sometimes it was bad enough to pull me out of the story. But the character of Stacey was lovely enough to make me want to continue. Her duality in her self-consciousness and badassery was really intriguing and I could have read more of her, for sure!
All in all, I enjoyed myself, while wishing the book was better than it was. The potential was definitely there!
This book is the ideal small town romance with two main characters that have previously been unlucky in love finding it with each other.I like that the "drama" within the book had nothing to do with the main characters relationship and that there was no third act break up.
A very wholesome read overall<3
Thank you Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the E-arc of this book.
This is a relaxing, cute contemporary romance with characters you want to root for! I enjoyed the intelligence behind Stacey and the supportive nature Reece exhibits throughout the book. I appreciate that there wasn’t a third act break up and the relationship was genuinely healthy and without drama. However, nothing really makes Off the Charts Chemistry stand out among all the other light hearted romance novels out there. There are way too many times the two main characters “gazes snapped together” - to the point I was sick of reading that exact line by the end. This is adorable and wholesome, but unfortunately, not groundbreaking or unique.
Off-the-Charts Chemistry is a nice feel-good romance, satisfying enough for a light read.
I liked the characters and the small town setting: Reese is such a good man, and Stacey was very interesting, and they made a lovely couple! However, I wish there would have been a bit more of will-they-won't-they, or that we could have explored her insecurities or his initial reluctance to engage in a relationship. I feel like most of the plot was driven by external factors relating to football and his career, and I missed exploring the characters and their relationship, and maybe even Stacey having her own subplot...
I reminded me of other books about women in STEM and teachers romance, so it might be liked by readers of Olivia Dade and Ali Hazelwood. The pub date seems good for the book, too, since it does have a strong back-to-school, summer-to-fall vibe.
In all, though cute and cozy, it felt a bit flat, and that some further editing could have made it really memorable.
A lovely romantic novel, i enjoyed reading it and would recommend it a a nice quick read would highly recommend

3.5 stars! a slow start, but a cute and cosy book. Definitely what I needed after getting stuck with a few DNFs before!
I would be lying if I said this book didn't have me giggling and kicking my feet with a huge smile on my face throughout! I didn't know I needed a Reece Caldwell and Stacey Kinsella in my life until right NOW!
Not only was Reece completely down to earth, and extremely charming, he was also attentive, kind, affectionate and downright SWOON-WORTHY. 😍 Never in my life did I think the words "You have my undivided attention" would make me almost scream with giddiness!
I also absolutely loved him and Stacey together! Their relationship is a perfect mix between flirty, teasing, and loving. I think they definitely outdid Sex in the Mountains and The Perfect Margarita by a longshot 😅😊
Last but not least, I was pleased to find out that it was not just Reece and Stacey's relationship that I loved, it was the friendships and the character growth as well. If anything, the only thing this book did to not get 4 stars from me, was the fact that it in my opinion I think I would have loved to see Reece and Stacey's relationship where they had more time for each other, to go on more dates and to explore their chemistry (albeit we know they have a TON of that) more, so that everything didn't feel like a "love at first sight" kind of vibe, although who are I kidding, sometimes I love those.
All-in-all, if you're looking for a feel-good, giggly, fast-paced, small-town romance book, make sure you buy this one as soon as it comes out on September 26th! 💙
Off-the-charts Chemistry was cute, and I respect that this was an ARC, however, while I liked the characters and enjoyed the romance, it felt flat. There was minimal conflict in the main romantic leads, and the female lead lacked depth. I have to admit, this review was colored by the fact that I was constantly distracted by the poor grammar. I'm not sure if the book has gone to editing yet, but I was frustrated by tense changes, pronoun issues, and incorrect possessions. It's possible that I would have enjoyed the book more if those issues were addressed.
I have a degree in chemistry and grew up in a football-loving town, so this book was pretty much written for me. I didn’t mind that it was more football than chemistry (and by that, I’m talking about both the science aspect and the feelings between Reece and Stacey). It was a quick, sweet, feel-good read that I consider time well spent.

Sporty. Sexy. Science-y. Steamy.
High school chemistry teacher Stacey Kinsella SWEARS that she’s destined to become an old, chronically single cat lady after several failed relationships—that is until the arrival of hot new head football coach Reece Caldwell. "Maybe...just maybe...quantum physics' law of attraction had finally started to work in her favor".
After an awkward classroom meet-cute, this seemingly odd pair instantly hit it off, igniting some…dare I say….chemistry between the two?! Stacey and Reece are very quickly thrown into the drama that is high school politics, kindling a new relationship, and the ghosts of Reece’s past.
"Ten percent coffee with forty-five percent science nerd and forty-five percent sexy high school football coach had resulted in chemistry" 💕

Quite honestly the plot was more about the mechanics of football than science, but overall it was an enjoyable read! I look forward to reading the future books in this series. On a rather personal note, the story itself was extra heartwarming because it mirrors a lot of my relationship. As a working woman in STEM, with a husband who dreams of coaching football, the plot of OTCC was very close to my own reality. It very accurately represented just how cutthroat the world of sports can be and how spouses can make or break their partner's career based on their support (or lack thereof).
Thanks to NetGalley and Sealed With a Swoon Books LLC for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review!
3.5 Good read on a fall rainy day.
I am normally not a big fan of insta-love, but how it is done with Reece falling for Stacey first made it enjoy it a little more than usual. I loved Stacey's group of friends and hope that each of them get their own story throughout the series. The world building of the small town vibe is there with the quirky side characters, but their are still characters that you know in real life also. I feel this book is a cozy read for the fall with the back to school and football vibes.
This was a cute fun story which I finished in one sitting. Small town stories are always a fun read. With the book being on the shorter side I still felt like you got the full story. It consisted of a couple that had an immediate chemistry and besides a few hiccups ( a couple of small town bad eggs) the good prevailed. Very little drama but enough to keep it interesting. I can’t wait for the next in the series! I just reviewed Off-the-Charts Chemistry by Christine Miles. #OfftheChartsChemistry #NetGalley
Such a relatable FMC, the selling point of this book in my opinion.
In some parts the scenes were a little rushed, with Reece's swoon-worthy one liners I would have liked to see more of this during intimate moments, but on the whole and easy to read, heartwarming opener to this series
This was cute! A bit “insta-love” but as a teacher, it was a really fun read! Decent steam but overall very rushed scenes. No third act breakup which was refreshing!
Off the Charts Chemistry was a cute, quick read.
I really enjoyed Reece and Stacey's story. Reece is the newly hired head football coach at Brigid Vista High School where Stacey is the Chemistry teacher. He approached her classroom to talk about three of his team members only to catch her changing shirts. Stacey was embarrassed. The talk about the team member lead to them exchanging number to continue to communicate about their progress.
Reece and Stacey run into each other the next day and he asked her to be his tour guide. They start spending a lot of time together and realize they have a lot of chemistry.
I look forward to Book Two in the Smart is Seriously Sexy Series: Passion Under the Microscope..
Stacey is a chemistry teacher who genuinely loves her subject and is struggling to find her perfect man. Reece is the son of a famous athlete now at the school Stacey teaches as a football coach .he is struggling to fit in a town that loves football and worshipped the former football coach and aren't too happy with the changes .students on the football team failed chemistry and thus led to the first very awkward meeting of Stacey and Reece and sparks fly.
Unfortunately, I didn't see the sparks myself .it very much felt like they liked each other because of superficial reasons .it felt tedious to read the book .every single sentence of conversation between them was followed by completely unnecessary and super long monologues. I find it hard to believe 30-40-year-olds blush every few pages due to not-at-all-funny jokes .it felt like the author was trying hard to create likeable characters but they just didn't feel real at all. It didn't feel like they had many negative motivations to not date each other as much as they made it feel like due to mentioning it every few pages.they didn't really try not to interact with each other .
"Off the Charts Chemistry" by Christine Miles is a delightful romcom that perfectly blends humor and romance. The story revolves around a teacher romance, adding an extra layer of charm to the plot. Miles has a knack for creating endearing characters who effortlessly captivate readers with their chemistry and banter. The pacing keeps you engaged, and the ups and downs of the characters' relationship are portrayed in a way that feels genuine. If you're in the mood for a heartwarming read with plenty of laughs, this book is a wonderful choice.
