Off the Charts Chemistry was a cute story! I liked that the story featured characters in their late 30s /early 40s. The romance wasn’t as exciting or spicy as I thought it might be. I was hoping for more of a hidden relationship troupe between a teacher and coach, but that’s not how it was. Maybe I misinterpreted the story summary. Overall it’s a good story, great for football season.

This was a cute, fluffy book that could have used a little more comfort in the main pairing. I'm a sucker for "she's smart, he's an athlete" so I loved the idea of the chemistry teacher with the football coach. There was no real tension in the couple though. I love trying to figure out how they'll get through the rough patch to their happily ever after, and this one didn't have that. I would read more in this series, the side characters were interesting and I would love to get their stories, it just might not be on release day.

Thank you Sealed With a Swoon Books LLC and NetGalley for the opportunity to receive this ARC.

It was a joy to read this book. It felt like a warm hug.

I love romance books that have the love interests come together to face a problem instead of the characters fighting.

I also loved that the main characters were older than your usual romance book, being in their early 30’s and 40’s.

Can’t wait for the next instalment – Passion Under the Microscope.

Stella is an unlucky-in-love chemistry teacher, and Reece is the new high school football coach of a beloved program. He's not making many friends, as the teams on a 3-game losing streak, his assistant coach is out for his job, and three of his players are failing chemistry. When he accidentally walks in on Stella changing in her classroom, it's the start of a new beginning for Reece, as he begins to imaging a future in Brigid's Vista after all.

As a former teacher, I have a soft spot for school romances, and this one hit all the marks! Stella and Reece had great chemistry and actually acted their age, and I felt like I knew things about them, as well as their friends and family. I've not read anything by Christine Miles before, but she captured life in a small-town perfectly, with all the gossip and feuds that go along with it. If I had to pick one complaint about the book, it would be that Stella and Reece did have a bit of insta-love, but that was greatly outweighed by their mature decisions and communication later on that could have easily been used to force a third-act break-up. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in this series, which I'm hoping is about either Luke, Reece's brother, or one of Stella's friends.

I loved this book. It was a fun and easy read, yet I was captivated.

The chemistry teacher and the handsome new football coach meet for the first time in an awkward situation. They fall fast for each other and their chemistry is off-the-charts! He has a lot to overcome, as his predecessor was treated as the greatest football coach to ever grace their small town. She does everything in her power to help him win over the locals.

I loved the plot. It was very Friday Night Lights. Will the football coach win the homecoming game? Will he still be the coach after the game? Will he ex-wife sabotage his relationship with the chemistry teacher? So many questions, but they all get answered at the end.

I read this book in a few hours I could not put this book down. It's funny it's sweet and it's pure sexy. Everything I want in a good romance book reminded me of the love hypothesis but I loved how it was the whole book about their relationship not them only realising it at the end.

Just what I needed! A sweet H with unusual features, interesting plot line and steamy scenes. Chemistry between the H and h are palpable and very satisfying to see them have their HEA. Recommend this highly!

This was such a lovely sweet book. I LOVE READING ABOUT TEACHERS and this book gave me the exact amount of educator goodness I could have asked for. I am so excited for the future books coming! Especially Gia, I am going to love her book.

The romance was so well done, their pasts handled gracefully, and the plot flowed smoothly.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publishers for providing this ARC.

I absolutely loved this story!!! Reading this left me feeling cozy & happy & very excited for the next book in this series! I was into the “Friday Night Light” growing up, and totally appreciate the overall obsession small towns have with it lol. Reece is such a kind, loving, good-hearted man who is trying his hardest, against ridiculous pushback, to be a good coach. And Stacey is so sweet! I loved how she was such a good friend to Reece first, because he really needed one, before they became more. I didn’t love the stereotypical portrait of Stacey as the “plain one, ponytail, little makeup but she’s actually gorgeous when she tries” but that wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be in the beginning.
Overall, I absolutely loved this story! The drama, the love, the fun, the STEM, the football— I loved it all sooo much!!!
Thank you for the ARC!!!

Off-the-Charts Chemistry by Christine Miles
Rating: 4.5 ⭐️

Summary:
Stacey Kinsella, a chemistry teacher, collides with Reece Caldwell, the new football coach, in an awkward shirtless encounter. As their attraction defies Stacey's self imposed spinster label, they forge a unique bond. Their unexpected connection leads to revelations beyond the football fields they fight against vindictive coaches and. the aftermath Reece's predecessor.

What stood out to me in this book:
The endearing friendships, the chemistry, the adorable of the romance and the characters - especially Stacey who I relate to as a fellow chemistry lover with self confidence issues.

Thoughts:
A cat loving chemistry teacher sign me up! Those were my first thought when I read the blurb of this book, but it surpassed all my expectations. Devoured it none sitting and loved Stacey and Reece's story. Instead of the usual third act breakup or the jealous ex this book gave us jealous coaches and corruption in high school football. The only reasons this book is not 5 stars is because I felt like some moments seemed a bit rushed or skimmed (and we didn't get to meet the cats). All in all I really enjoyed and recommend this book anyone who wants a short, cute, fluffy romance between teachers.

Trying something new with this later in life romance, “Off the Charts Chemistry” by this “new to me author”.

🏈Chemistry teacher heroine
🏈 Football coach hero
🏈 Nerdy girl gets the guy
🏈 Later in life/ workplace romance
🏈 Hallmark movie vibes

Blurb: A single chemistry teacher with two cats equals a spinster in the making…or does it?

Stacey Kinsella is the definition of unlucky in love and long-ago accepted she has more brains than beauty. What’s a chemistry teacher to do? Focus on her job, friends, family, and perfumery hobby. She never expects the sexiest man to ever walk the halls of Brigid’s Vista High School to stroll into her classroom and catch her with her shirt off…or the unmistakable chemistry she shares with him who just happens to coach her least favorite sport.

A single football coach given a career second chance doesn’t need distractions…or does he?

Overall, this romance novel read like a Hallmark movie. It was really cute, and what initially attracted me to this was the “opposites attract, nerdy girl gets the guys”. However, as a word of warning, this romance reads very mature. That means the characters are later in life characters, with one of them who has a previous marriage under his belt. In addition, the conflict/angst level is very low.. so this book read more like a slice of life piece.

Overall, something different that broke me out of my comfort zone. It was cute, but I felt very “meh” about it. The romance was ALOT of sports, which was another thing to note. However, I was glad to read it, because I’m always down to support an indie author.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥

4/5 stars! i absolutely adored this book, the entire premise and characters, and devoured in about a day. it was refreshing to see a STEM novel that wasn't written by ali hazelwood. even though i personally have no connection or vested interest in the STEM world, it's nice to see other authors stepping into the romance genre with these ideas and opening up a new world of characters, STEM and ideas.

i thought the plot was paced super well, there wasn't too much or too little. it moved quickly through the arc of the story with little to no issue. i liked the chemistry that built up between stacey and reece, it wasn't just instant love or anything - just a mutual attraction where they spent time together and learned about one and other.

overall 4 stars because a lot of the language, expressions and phrases were a little to repetitive for my tastes - i will say though that this was edited really well. very minimal grammar errors or random typos. just a thumbs down for repetitiveness in the dialogue, descriptions, etc.

She's a chemistry teacher who sees herself as boring and plain. He's a football coach who desperately needs a win. They shouldn't be together but they do...

Love the slow burn romance. Enjoy the banter, quips and fun dialogue. The character's growth and the school drama are fun to watch.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

“Off the Charts Chemistry” is a romance book by Christine Miles. I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, it’s a romance - so one knows how it’s going to end. There is often comfort in familiarity. For some, the bit of “sexy time” will be enjoyable. I liked that this was about two teachers and it was pretty obvious that they were adults. I had some minor quibbles - such as the fact that while our heroine is a chemistry teacher, the “chemistry” referred to in the title is more about her chemistry (and chemical reaction!) to the new football coach. I’m really not a fan of insta-lust. Additionally, and this must be one of the most minor nits on the planet, I don’t know how - after watching one football game - even with a knowledgable and fantastic teacher - that one would automatically absorb all the football knowledge they imparted - and recall it to impart to others. The last bit about the football player, I thought, seemed a bit odd; it bugged me how neatly tied up that storyline was presented. Overall, this was probably a 3.5 star read - it did provide diversion from my life, it was a quick read, and it did hold my attention for the overall storyline.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fast and it was fun.
Stacey is a chemistry teacher who really loves teaching chemistry.
Reece is the school's new football coach who's trying to save their team.
But not everybody's happy with him being the school's new coach.
This book shows that school drama doesn't stop when people are adults. But it also portrays how two people can meet and fall in love with each other. And they are being supportive and they genuinely care for each other.

Such a cute book! I really loved how it felt so normal, two people meet, date, and fall in love. It wasn't trying to hard to be something it wasn't and was done well. The characters were so sweet, easy to imagine and follow through their stories. I loved how swoony Reece was, my heart ached for him as we learned about his injury and failed relationships. Stacey was a great counterpart to him, a little shy but super sweet and easy to fall for herself. I liked how she found her confidence throughout the story and loved her friendship group as well. I really enjoyed this book and the author's writing. There were parts that were extra cheesy and could feel a bit cringey for me, but overall very enjoyable and easy to read.

It seems high school drama isn't only for the students when the hot new head coach arrives at the school, much to the disappointment of many.

This book was so cute! Funny, heart-warming and hot! The spice was tame but fit well into the story.

The drama of the school took priority and removed the typical 80% break-up which I greatly appreciated. I loved seeing how their relationship blossomed over their few dates but it was clear their chemistry was Off-The-Charts from their first (unfortunate) meeting.

The ending of the book tied everything together perfectly! I look forward to reading the next in the series!
