A title that promises off-the-charts chemistry can be hard to live up to but this one succeeded. From the very first moment they meet these characters have nothing but chemistry. Lots of innuendo, flirty banter, and laughter keep this story moving forward making it a fun, quick and easy read. While Stacey and Reese have both been burned by love, their instant attraction and rapidly developing affection was enjoyable to experience while avoiding falling into unbelievably quick insta-love. This is a great low-stakes read with no third-act breakup and lots of sweet moments.
Got the ARC from Netgalley. Was a very cute read with a realistic-like story. You can imagine small town schools just like this, and I love how Stacey and Reece meet because students are failing chemistry. Reece had his shares of horrible past jobs... but with BVHS, be better?
Perfect for a quick read.
I loved this book!
This book read like a movie. It was so good I finished it in one day.
Christine Miles is an author I will be keeping my eyes on.
As a woman in STEM I loved how the science was incorporated into this small town romance. Stacey was a great FMC and I loved how she related day to day things with chemistry in this.
Right from their quirky first meeting, I loved the chemistry and relationship between Stacey and Reece. How a man can be more perfect I don't know, especially with two dogs.
This was a lovely cute small town romance with the usual great small town dramas. I don't know a lot about American football but I enjoyed the parts about the game and play just as much as the rest.
A great read!
ARC received through Netgalley
I love a good teacher romance, and just in time for the new school year to start too! I thought that this story seemed more realistic than a lot of other over the top romance story which was really refreshing! The characters had unique friendships that most times aren't told any more. I loved how just because the Hero wasn't married to his wife anymore he was still close to his in-laws.
It has to be mentioned how much I love heroines in STEM books! She was very likeable, sweet and at the same time not a push over. Within the first few moments of this book you see that she's not intimidated at all by her anxiety ridden students or her fellow sports orientated teachers at all. She does what she feels is right and important to her and what best for students.
Both characters were charming in their own ways but extreme delightful together. It was sweet to watch them come together over time all the while dealing with their professional complications. At one point I was getting Friday night light vibes and at another point, it felt like I was a reading a new Ali Hazelwood book. Which is a a great combination! I'm looking forward to reading more from this Author!
If you're looking for a fast lighthearted very sweet romance story I'd differently give this one a try!
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
4.75⭐️
I absolutely loved this book. It was such a good combination between Stacey being a woman in STEM and Reece being the head coach for american football. It was such a cute and easy read, I didn’t struggle to get through it at all and found the writing style very easy to follow. There was also no miscommunication or third act break up which I thought was great and Reece and Stacey were so perfect for each other. I also loved most of the other characters as well, the book was not just solely focused on the main characters and loved the storyline of the two other coaches being corrupt as well. Overall, it made for a very entertaining read I would definitely recommend.
I really liked this book, I thought it was the perfect amount of romance, funny and drama. This book felt cozy like a comfort read.
I enjoyed the characters I thought the two main characters were well written and I liked how they progressed through the book and how their relationship grew!
I really liked how there was no third act break up or anything that made them question their feelings for each other!
Overall I really enjoyed this book!

I thought this was a cute and fun novel. I'm always a sucker for novels with women in STEM as the main character and this one was no different. For anyone who enjoys Ali Hazelwood's romance novels, this is a definite must read.
Off the Charts Chemistry is a small town romance with sports and STEM sprinkled throughout. I liked the writing style and overall structure of this story. I will say, I was a huge fan of the way that there was no third act breakup/misunderstanding like there always is in a rom-com.
Thanks to Netgalley, Sealed With a Swoon, and the author for an e-ARC of this novel. Review will be posted on Instagram by or before publication date
I loved this sweet and spicy small town romance. When a chemistry teacher and high school football coach get together, it is explosive. Both characters are genuinely nice people and have the support of the community. Football can be political in small towns that live by the sport and keeping the fans on your side can be challenging. Fortunately, skill and friends keep things moving positively. I recommend this feel good read whole heartedly. I read this ARC on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Smart is definitely sexy., and Christine Miles has nailed it. A fun read that embodies all the drama of high school and high school football.
This is a small town colleagues-to-lovers romance where chemistry teacher Stacey falls for the school's new football coach, Reece. It's a plausible story because it happens all the time - two people meet at work and couple up. It was a nice read, but I would have liked more excitement in the overall plot.
This was such a fun read! A great blend of cozy, spicy, and science-ey. Just my speed! I really enjoyed the humor in this book as well, a great book to fall in to over the weekend!
Many thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read this before it comes out!
Off-The-Charts Chemistry follows chemistry teacher Stacey and new football coach Reece and how Reece navigates being the new football coach in a small town. This was a sweet read, but I felt there was a serious case of instalove going on and the repetition in this novel made it very difficult to get through this short novel. “Devilish grin” really got old after the second time reading it. It seemed like these characters really did not have off-the-charts chemistry, but rather a case of lust at first sight.
Stacey is a chemistry teacher and Reece is the new football coach when he approaches her to ask for some extra credit work for some of his players to bump up their GPA and allow them to play in the homecoming game. The two have an unexpected connection that they begin to explore.
This was cute but I didn’t think there was much to it? I didn’t really think there was too much to the plot and the relationship developed really quickly. I did enjoy that there was no third act break up though! Overall I thought if there was a bit more to it it would have been so much better!
Sweet book with a little spice that has interesting characters I enjoyed a lot! A nice beach read with a small amount of angst. Writing was smooth and I'll look out for the next book.
Deliciously simple and predictable, “Off-The-Charts Chemistry” offers nothing new to the romcom table but it is like slipping into a comfortable and warm pair of slippers. Filled with some satisfying spice and cute, lovable, and cliche characters makes this book a sweet little read that can easily be devoured in a day.
A sweet and easy read with likeable characters. Perfect for a quick holiday read. A few phrases got a bit repetitive but not enough to put me off. I look forward to reading more from this series.
Based on the cover and description, I was expecting something similar to Ali Hazelwood, but it was definitely not it. And I am so glad!
This is a heartwarming, very cute, small-town romance, which provides a very nice frame for a main character, who is a smart teacher and enthusiast of chemistry.
It’s giving „I am a nerd and he’s on a football team”, but they both work at school, they are proper adults and he’s also a PERFECT man.
It’s a nice, feel-good read!
Thanks to Sealed With a Swoon Books LLC and NetGalley for the ARC of this.
Firstly I'll start with that I did enjoy this and it was refreshing to see an adult romance of two 'unlucky in love' MC's without past traumatic break-ups. They had not have great past relationships but they were fairly standard breakups and then the MC's subsequent self-confidence issues. The fact that there was zero miscommunication throughout the entire story also - incredible.
The coffee scene got me good and came at the right time when I was slightly struggling to be immersed in the writing.
Insta love is something I know I shouldn't like but shamelessly adore. It's very cute and wholesome how bad Stacey and Reece had it for each other immediately.
I don't think I've read something that felt so 'normal' in such a long time. I understood all the characters choices and the stakes were kept well into check.
Now just some very minor critics;
There were moments were I felt I was playing catch up on the story. We would be in the middle of something and then we were past it and it was then discussed what had occurred - slightly jarring. It's fine just not my favourite sort of storytelling.
Also so minor but why weren't the offence and defence coaches named? Why? I kept waiting but we just never found out their names. Also they continued being just a pair and there was not one difference noted between them. Look in retrospect it probably kept me going just to find out who they were. I would have loved if they were named in the end when the story is wrapping up.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The way they met was cute and how they began to be a part of each others lives in such a fast way. I love Reece and Stacey’s relationship. I loved the way that their lives are complicated but everything ends up okay in the end. Although minor spelling errors that can be fixed, I did really enjoy this it was really cute.
Thank you to NetGalley for this early e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
