I really enjoyed this book. I liked the back and forth banter. It was a tad predictable, but a fast paced book.
This was a DNF for me. I really didn’t enjoy the narrators voices. I couldn’t get past it. I might try again later as an ebook.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
Best Frenemies is a romantic comedy novel by Max Monroe, a pseudonym of two best-selling authors of contemporary romance. The novel is about Katy and Mack, two elementary school teachers who have been rivals and enemies for five years. They are forced to share the same vacation rental for a week due to a booking mistake, and they have to deal with their mutual attraction and hatred. The novel is full of hilarious situations, witty dialogues, and steamy scenes, as the enemies-to-lovers trope is executed with humor and charm
This was my first Mac Monroe title and it had me cackling!! It was so funny! The narrators did an excellent job bringing the characters to life.
This was spicy and so well written! I will be reading more from Max Monroe!!
This is my first Novel by Max Monroe.
I really don’t understand why the FMC hates the mmc in this book, through the whole book he is the same person which is great because she such a sweetheart.
I rated this a 3.25 because I just don’t think there’s enough reason for the hate he gets & I also feel like there’s parts that are so cringy I laughed because yikes.
But for the most part this was a fun, quick, easy read (there is also major vibes that there’s a book before this even though it says stand alone)
I read my first Max Monroe book earlier this year, Accidental Attachment and absolutely loved it. So I was excited to have the opportunity to read Best Frenemies and see how these worlds collided.
I love a good enemies to lovers books. Give me all the banter! While this wasn’t a one bed situation, they did end up sharing a rental for a week of vacation. It was sweet to see how Mack took care of Katie. I enjoyed watching their connection grow.
I loved this book until close to the end. While I don’t always mind what happens at the end of this one, it didn’t work for me here. With that being said, I’ll definitely be picking up more Max Monroe books as this was hilarious and swoony and spicy all at the same time.
I did receive an early copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Two Rival teachers end up stuck at the same vacation rental for spring break! You know the tension will be great!
When Katy (Katy-cat) is on the cusp of the vacation of a lifetime with her friend, the unfortunate thing happens. Her friend gets COVID. So when it gets to the place she's staying at, she is greeted by her enemy, Mack (BigMack). He happens to be the music teacher at the school she works at and is a total player.
Their banter and sweet moments are amazing! I loved their tension and loved the way Mack cares for Katy. HE'S SO IN LOVE!!!!!
And don't get me started on the spicy scenes!!
I listened to the audiobook, which was amazing. CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese did a great job reading this book. You could feel everything the characters went through.
Thank you, NetGalley for an ARC audiobook!
I really enjoyed listening to this book. the narrators were great and made the characters come to life. I enjoyed the back and forth banter between the main characters. You could feel the tension between them. I really like this enemies to lovers troupe and hope you do as well.
Thank you NetGalley and authors Max Monroe for the chance to read this spicy, forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers book.
Katy and Mack have been working at the same elementary school for the last 5 years. Katy is the Type A, list-making, planner math teacher while right next door Mack is the fun-loving music teacher just loving life. Katy has seen Mack as her archnemesis and can't stand to be around him. Well isn't it a very big surprise when on a Spring Break trip to Florida, Mack is now her roommate. Due to a booking error, they have the same rental for the week-long trip. Katy is less than thrilled to be spending her hard-earned vacation with the one person she can't stand. What happens when forced proximity gives way to more?
I immediately related to the characters in this book as I taught elementary school for 12 years. It was fun hearing all of the moments in the school building and the life of a teacher. Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and road trip stories are some of my absolute favorites to read and this story did not disappoint. I loved seeing the change in Mack from just wanting to get under Katy's skin to seeing her for the wonderful woman she is and helping her to see herself that way also. The banter between these two was so fun since they have such very different personalities. There was a surprise trope close to the end that is not a favorite of mine, but it really enhanced the ending of this book and I really enjoyed it.
The audiobook was a fantastic way to experience this story. CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese brought the characters to life for this story. They had a great cadence that enhanced the plot. I highly suggest listening to this book.
This book follows Mack and Katy, They are both coworkers at the same NYC elementary school. They teach next door to each other and Katy is a rule follower and Mack is more go with the flow. Katy is constantly annoyed with Mack and Mack lives to get a rise out of Katy. When they both escape to Florida for spring break they are surprised to find out they booked the same condo for the week.
This book was really funny, I loved the humor and really found myself laughing out loud. I loved that the authors gave us some back story about Katy that explained why she needed things to be "perfect". I really loved Mack's character, he was really sweet and really cared about Katy, long before they crossed the line. I like how Mack took care of her when she got injured on their trip, how he drove her back to NY when her flight was cancelled and his wasn't. I loved how when they returned to school, he continued to pursue her until she gave into a sort of relationship.
I liked that the audio has 2 narrators especially with it being dual POV. Overall it was a fun, quick, enjoyable listen. This is my first book by these authors and I would like to read more!
Thoroughly enjoyed the story of Mack and Katy, rival teachers at the same school. Mack is beloved by students and teachers alike. He’s the fun-loving music teacher, thoughtful and charming. At least, that’s how everyone else sees him. Katy, the no-nonsense math teacher is also beloved by her students and the teachers she calls friends. Her only nemesis: Mack, whose music classes take place next door to her classroom.
Their rivalry is a bit more one-sided as Katy is more resentful of Mack, but Mack revels in the way he gets under Katy’s skin. Everything changes during their spring break, when an online scheduling mishap has them sharing the same beachfront rental house for a week. A series of both comedic and spicy events breaks through the sexual tension that surrounds the two.
The story was cute. The characters were great. I also had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook. The narrators were phenomenal. I adore CJ Bloom. Overall, Best Frenemies is a fun and entertaining read.

I loved this audiobook CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese made this audio that much more enjoyable.
I loved the extra bits put into this audio like the well-placed giggles and sighs that are sometimes just explained in narration but not performed.
Katy and Mack Are Work Rivals who find themselves double booked in a Vacation Rental for Spring Break,
Katy is set on getting through this vacation with very little to do with Mack, but Mack has other plans, he plans to get on Katy's good side whatever it takes.
Katy quickly realizes that Mack may not be "so" bad, and things take a sexy turn into a temporary fling that, dosen't feel so temporary.
Max Monroe Always write books make me laugh so hard I have to check my surrounds and make sure I'm being "that" reader, the one that is obnoxiously laughing at her book and not realising she's in public, this book definably had me giggling my way through it.
They can defiantly write some pretty creative and hilarious high (on medication) or drunk scenes, I've read a few of these in their books and there always the best parts.
I also always love when people we have read about before are included in the story it feels like even though we have finished reading their story we are still getting little bits of those HEA's, and who doesn't love little extra Thatcher Kelly in their lives.

Let me just say I absolutely loved this book!! I literally LOL multiple times while reading it, I also had a continuous smile plastered to my face. It was such a fun, and cute storyline. It was a contemporary Rom-Com filled with references of tropes (literal tropes, and it was hilarious) all the references are up to date and the sarcastic banter had me rolling. The chemistry between Mack and Katy was undeniable. The way they went from enemies to frenemies to so much more was such a delight. Their story is one you will not want to miss!
The narrators were sheer perfection. The way they captured the personalities of Mack and Katy was spot on. The dual POV, the narrator’s really did a great job bringing them to life. I even enjoyed when Alexander read as a female character as well when CJ read as a male, they both absolutely nailed it.
This was my first book by Max Monroe and the first time I have ever listened to Alexander Cendese and CJ Bloom, I can say it 100% will not be my last. I’ve already added some titles to my TBR.
Special thanks to Netgalley and Max Monroe for the gifted audiobook.
Audiobook Review
Max Monroe is one of my go to authors when I just want a little bit of funny with my schmut and this one just did not disappoint.
CJ Bloom as the uptight Katy is amazing; Alexander Cendese is perfect as man child Mack with his cartoony voice.
Three cheers for ‘Mack Attack’! I loved him. Forced proximity is one of my favourite tropes. I don’t think I would necessarily group this as enemies-to-lovers though because it was one-sided and her reasoning behind the ‘enemies’ designation was a bit weak to me, if you don’t like a noisy room – tell the staffing and have them move your classroom etc etc. I know she made some attempts to rectify the situation, but not really.
As with all Max Monroe books, there are some laugh-out-loud moments, and they are fun, spicy and entertaining. I do see why some may think the emotional depth and character development was lacking, but this is a fun vacation-fling-but-flows-into-real-life book, and I was here for it.
It was a tad cliché and predictable but was still entertaining.
Katy and Mack, her irritating co-worker, had both made the same mistake of booking the same house for their spring break vacation. The two of them were forced to share the same space, which initially led to a lot of anger and annoyance towards each other. However, as time passed, their feelings towards each other began to change, and their initial animosity turned into a passionate attraction.
Although the story may lack originality, it still manages to capture some cute and funny moments. However, certain parts of the story did feel forced and over the top, detracting from the overall enjoyment. All in all, an okay read.
If you're a fan of forced proximity, grumpy sunshine, and/or enemies-to-lovers, this might be for you.
***Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***
I love listening to Max Monroe books. They’re always so much fun. This one was no different. Kept me very entertained and laughing throughout.
At first Katy’s character was a bit irritating but it was nice to see her growth through out the book. I loved Mack from the beginning. He gave me golden retriever vibe. I like how it wasn't insta love, they had a history together. The HEA and epilogue were so sweet, it was perfect.
I listened to this audio and it was good. The voice
of the FMC was amazing, but of course, it was CJ Bloom. For the MMC I had to get use to it. He isn’t my favorite but he grew on me.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the authors for providing me the audio to this book for my honest review.
