I love listening to Max Monroe books. They’re always so much fun. This one was no different. Kept me very entertained and laughing throughout.
At first Katy’s character was a bit irritating but it was nice to see her growth through out the book. I loved Mack from the beginning. He gave me golden retriever vibe. I like how it wasn't insta love, they had a history together. The HEA and epilogue were so sweet, it was perfect.
I listened to this audio and it was good. The voice
of the FMC was amazing, but of course, it was CJ Bloom. For the MMC I had to get use to it. He isn’t my favorite but he grew on me.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the authors for providing me the audio to this book for my honest review.
I received this audiobook as an arc reader and I will say I highly appreciate the author I have read several of there previous books before but I had to DNF this book within 10% of it.
When it came to the narrators themselves the voices didnt match very well with the character as you would envision them in your head. MMC sounded very bro like and not appealing whatsoever even if he is suppose to be the sunshine of the book. The FMC right of the back really didnt give me a good first impression how B*tch* she seemed talking to her friend for bailing on her just not a great start to the book for my taste unfortunately.
4⭐️ we love a forced proximity enemy to lovers book. this book was sick a light and fluffy read. the amount of times i smiled and giggled should be illegal. the narrators were everything i needed and more. they brought the book to life for me. i loved it
This was my first book by this author and unfortunately it just wasn't really for me. I might have felt differently about the book if I had read it instead of listening to the audiobook.
I was not a fan of the male narrator. He was pretty loud and harsh sounding in his narration and his female voice was very distracting, which made me not want to listen to the book anymore.
This was so cute! I thoroughly enjoyed BEST FRENEMIES. The storyline was contemporary, brimming with up-to-date references that added a delightful touch. The witty dialogue, especially the sarcastic banter between Mack & Katie, had me laughing 😂 out loud. It was irresistibly cute, I found myself continuously eager to pick it up! The spice level was high, with a memorable bathtub 🛁 scene that added a steamy 🥵 twist.
Such a charming & funny read that perfectly balanced humor & romance.
I also caught the nod to ACCIDENTAL ATTACHMENT which I can’t wait to read soon!! This was my first read by Max Monroe & definitely won’t be my last!

Loved this one. It was a great listen. I am loving this author so much. This story had me laughing so hard I was crying. It was a pleasure to listen to.
Enjoyed the set-up of work rivals stuck together in a beach house on vacation. Struggled with the narrators' voices for the opposite characters.
Best Frenemies is a deliciously hilarious and spicy read! I could not stop laughing. I throughly enjoyed this book.
The characters, the flow of the story, the comedy , the spice and surprising ending made this book a 5 star read for me.
My only critic would be that sometimes the male narrator’s voice and his emphasis on certain words took me out of the story. He sounded more childish than how Mac was described.
This was an ok rom com. I felt like the vacation storyline resolved too quickly and I didn't enjoy the rest of the story as much due to some of the tropes.
I listened to this on audiobook and thought the female narrator did a great job. I didn't love the male narrator's portrayal of the femal FMC because it felt shrill or that he was making fun of her almost.
Overall, if you want a quick read this is fine and has a few good spicy scenes.
I will say - the mouth on the male main character kept this from being 2 stars. Mac Houston can give me dirty talk any time!

Just when I think, I can’t love Max Monroe anymore, they give me a book with that has Thatcher Kelly’s cousin Mack. I thoroughly laughed my ass off during this entire book. the antics the banter, the spice checked all my boxes.
The narration was on point, the story was hilarious, and I absolutely love the characters, Mac and Katie. Katie is super type A (a girl after my own heart) while Max is as laidback as they come with serious golden retriever energy and a side of dirty talk. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes then add in forced proximity with your sexy work nemesis who might accidentally see you naked and I cackled my way through this book.
This book had everything I love about Max Monroe and is one of my top 5 favorite of their books.

Thank you NetGalley and MaxMonroe for the audio arc. All opinions are my own.
I love love love CJ Bloom and this was not less different. she really brought Katy to life. and This was my first book by Alexander and he really killed it as Mack. this was a super funny rom-com and I really enjoyed it. I cant wait to read and listen to the rest of the series!
Thankyou for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I didn’t have any expectations for this book, having never read from this author before, but as soon as listening to the authors note I knew I was in for a good time.
Best Frenemies was a checklist of tropes;
Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, only one bed, he falls first, and then a couple of spoiler tropes. Was it cliche? Maybe, but I still was absolutely stupid grinning through it.
It was a witty, entertaining, easy read. The MMC, Mack, was honestly such a likeable good guy that I have no idea why the MFC, Katy hated him so thoroughly. Yes he was chaos to her organised but that’s really no reason to write off an entire person so completely.
As much as I enjoyed Katy, it was mostly just a story about her pulling her head out of her ass for a guy that’s been an utter gentleman to who, with some good natured ribbing thrown in for fun. It was definitely a one sided ‘enemy’ situation.
I loved the author style and humour, and the narrators were really easy to listen to. The only voice I didn’t like was the male narrators take on Katy’s dad, but other than that great job!
Best Frenemies was a “never quit” comedy, with line after line of funny banter. It was also a lighthearted story that fulfilled all the angst over the MCs attraction toward one another, while also giving the reader a safe, relaxing story to easily fall into. It was exactly what I needed, when I needed it, lighthearted and funny.
If you like a romcom that is jam packed with funny lines, this story is for you! Also, the characters are very relatable and lovable.
I listened to the audiobook, which had a male and female narrator that did an excellent job. I listened at 1.75x speed, which is my normal audiobook speed for adult book.
Thank you NetGalley and Max Monroe for this advanced audiobook copy.
This one was so fun! It was a first from Max Monroe and I'll definitely be reading more. I think the narrators did a great job. Between the fun story and the narrators, its definitely bingeable!
I love enemies to lovers trope and I was excited to get this Audiobook via Netgalley and I wasn't disappointed. I liked the chemistry, and sexual tension between the main characters and their banter. If you're in the mood for wicked fun then you must check this out.

this little book follows two school teachers who double book the same AirBnB for spring break. MMC Mack’s narrator unfortunately did him 0 justice so the audiobook was hard to relate to, I probably would recommend the physical book for this one.. Katy carried the story but her falling for Mack felt off in the beginning. Overall, it was an easy romcom and there were parts that were truly funny. Thank you to Netgalley & the author for the audio in exchange of review!
This was my first Man Monroe book and it won't be my last. I enjoyed the characters and the story! I'll definitely will continue with these.
I was very lucky enough to receive this book as an ebook and audiobook ARC!
Going tit for tat with the man you hate is all fun and games until things get literal…and the jerk sees you naked. My beach getaway was only supposed to include three relaxation, wine, and fun in the sun. Mack Houston, on the other hand, should have never— ever— been involved. In no uncertain terms, he’s the bane of my existence.
The thorn in my side. The sexy Mr. Good-Time Guy who drives me up the wall and my work archnemesis for the past five years. He’s the last person I want to get stuck anywhere with—it’s bad enough that I have to see him every day at work—and yet, because of a booking error (or curse of the universe, as I like to call it), I’m stuck in the same vacation rental with him for an entire week. I’m going to end up in jail. Or worse, I might just give in to the insane urge to find out if his lips are really as kissable as they look. One way or the other, disaster feels imminent.
The enemies-to-lovers trope is a beloved one in romance, and Max Monroe executes it exceptionally well. As the story progresses, the animosity between Cleo and Mack begins to shift, revealing underlying attraction and a growing connection. Their journey from frenemies to something more is a satisfying and entertaining ride.
"Best Frenemies" strikes a balance between humour, romance, and steamy chemistry. It's a lighthearted and engaging read that will have readers rooting for Cleo and Mack to figure things out and find their way to each other's hearts.
"Best Frenemies" is a fun and entertaining contemporary romance with memorable characters, witty banter, and a delightful enemies-to-lovers plot. Fans of romantic comedies and enemies-to-lovers stories will find this book to be a delightful addition to their reading list.
I definitely recommend this book!!
Rating: 4 / 5⭐️’s
This book was a fun light hearted frolic for those that enjoy rom coms, on page sex, and well known tropes. This was my first Max Monroe but won’t be my last for palate cleanser reads. I didn’t love the narrators but that wouldn’t stop me trying audio again.
Mac and Katy are teachers at an elementary school who do nothing but butt heads. Mac is loud, obnoxious, fun-loving and does not seem to take his job seriously. Katy is a rule follower who always has her act together. They could not be any more different Mac and Katy's relationship is tested when they unexpectedly find themselves on a week long trip together.
I did not have the best first impression of Mac. He seemed like a man child and I almost lost interest in the book. My opinion changed pretty quickly. He was sweet, fun, and caring. I enjoyed his character a lot.
Katy's character is pretty typical. Overworked, over-concerned, and has a really hard time letting go. I do enjoy her character development and the way she grows with Mac. They are a really sweet couple.
Overall, this book was very cute and funny. I laughed out loud several times throughout the story. I would definitely recommend this light, easy read.
Thank you NetGalley and Max Monroe for the ARC.
