I've been reading so many Max Monroe books recently, my latest one being Accidental Attachment. I was so happy to see Brooke Baker- the MC from that book- bought into this one. Both can still be read as standalones, no problem.

Set at a primary school, Katy is the math teacher and Mack is the music teacher. Their classrooms are right next to each other. And then it does make sense for Katy to hate Mack's loud classes. The story starts in their workplace, then them accidentally double booking their stay for the week.

While this book was a fun and easy read, I'm not the biggest fan of the characters, neither of whom came off as put together to me. Of course, they take responsibilities but the way their personalities changed all the time was just annoying. Their backgrounds of Katy being born to teen parents and Mack being a surprise baby with older parents were interesting. I wish they had been explored more coz that bit had so much potential.

I hated the voice of the male narrator. Just too high pitched and didn't give me grown up vibes. He sounded like a spoilt teen and wasn't able to translate the words properly in the audiobook. I don't recommend listening to the audio version of this book.

This was my first book by the author and I will seek out other books by them. I didn’t want to stop listening. I was engaged the whole time and enjoyed the story. Well told and entertaining.

Oh, Mack and Katy are the best! The best frienemies!
As always, Max Monroe gave me a laugh-out-loud rom-com.

I love a close proximity romance. There was no way these two weren't going to get together. Mack isn't what Katy ever expected. He was a swoon-worthy hero. He was such a good guy. Like - he could do no wrong in my book....well, Katy's book, more importantly.

Everything between these two while away, sharing an Air-b-B, needed to happen to find their way to each other. Katy didn't want to like Mack, but there was just no way she couldn't.

Max Monroe is my go-to author(s) for rom-coms. The audible was even better than the book when I read it!

I just love the incredible duo that makes up Max Monroe! I love the hilarity and mischief that always ensues in their books! Teachers aren't my usual go to when it comes to book characters I like to read about but Katy and Mack might have just opened my eyes to a whole new world! Best Frenemies is a hilarious tale of teachers getting down and I just loved it! Add in the cameos from past faves and I just can't get over how much I enjoyed this book!

"Best Frenemies" by Max Monroe had me hooked from the beginning, and I was fortunate to receive an ARC from NetGalley. This romantic comedy offers a delightful mix of enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and the classic 'only one bed' scenario that fans of the genre will love.

Katy and Mack, two teachers in Manhattan, have a complicated relationship—they've despised each other for years, but their underlying attraction is undeniable. When they find themselves as accidental holiday apartment buddies in Florida, the stage is set for a hilarious and romantic adventure.

The story is a rollercoaster of fun, starting with the beachy holiday vibes in the first half, and then transitioning back to their lives in New York. The enemies-to-lovers theme is executed with humor and charm, making it cute and funny, just as you'd expect. The sparks between Katy and Mack are electric, and the sizzling tension is palpable.

What sets this book apart is the chemistry between the characters. Mack's praise-worthy dirty talk and Katy's composed yet adorable demeanor create a fantastic dynamic. The development of their relationship is both fun and engaging, and the third-act conflict feels realistic and not overly dramatic.

The audiobook narration was on point, and I had no issues with the narrators. However, it's worth noting that I received an ARC, and the final version may have improvements.

In conclusion, "Best Frenemies" delivers a hilarious and enjoyable enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy with all the right ingredients. It may not be groundbreaking, but it's a lighthearted and fun read that will keep you entertained. So, if you're a fan of this genre, this book is a must-read, and I can't wait for the next installment from Max Monroe.

I absolutely devoured and loved this book SO much. A few parts made me laugh. Just a general feel good book that I will love forever! I will be getting a physical copy and will be reading more by the author! I would HIGHLY recommend this book!

Thank you to Netgalley and the Author for allowing me to read this masterpiece! I was not paid for this arc read and it is my honest review!

This was an entertaining rom-com with a dash of spice and sailor talk just the way I like it. Two school teachers who do not get along are forced to work together on a school project and instead of the relaxing spring break vaca they had planned separately, they end up double booked into the same vacation rental property. Forced proximity, miniscule beach attire and a sea mishap has Katie looking at Mack a little differently and sexual tension brewing between the two. They truly are opposites and the question is if they could or would last beyond a little vaca fun.
I thoroughly enjoyed the differing voices of the two narrators and their vocal range that really brought the characters to life. Having not read any other books by this author I could tell that there were cameos from her other books and I am now going to go find those other books and dive into those characters' lives. I highly recommend this audiobook read!

Ok this was my kind of rom com… Ms. Katie Dayton (math teacher )and Mr. Mac Houston (music teacher) are total opposites. Katie is a super organized, all about business teacher and Mac is an energetic, go with the flow, Katie absolutely loathes Mac, until they are forced to stay in the same vacation house during Spring Break. Katie has no choice but to give into her true feelings for Mac. And Mac can’t believe he finally has the opportunity to see Katie in a different light. But can they make this situation-ship work and still be professional at school? This super cute rom com also has some very steamy moments and I absolutely loved how it ended.

Overall, if you are into forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and relatable comedy then this is definitely for you.

"Best Frenemies" by Max Monroe is a lighthearted and engaging romantic story with elements of humor and tension. The dynamic between the protagonist and Mack Houston, their mutual dislike and attraction, promises an entertaining and potentially steamy enemies-to-lovers romance. The unexpected situation of being stuck together in a vacation rental sets the stage for potential drama and personal growth for the characters. The tone and premise suggest an enjoyable read for those who appreciate contemporary romance novels with a mix of witty banter and romantic sparks.

I really enjoyed this. It was cute, lighthearted, and funny. The “enemies” part is a bit stretched considering why they didn’t like one another, but I feel that way with most contemporary romances. They’re not really enemies, more rivals.

So I really loved Mack. His praise dirty talk was top tier. Had me red facing it at work while listening. 🥵 It’s my weakness.

Katie was adorable. Very put together until Mack bulldozed his way into her rental vacation house and stayed. The drama was light, and I didn’t even mind the third act conflict - it was realistic.

Thanks NetGalley for the audiobook. I had zero issue with the narrators.

Max Monroe always delivers a cute story as well as the laughs. This one is about Mack and Katie who are both teachers at the same school. Mack is the music teacher and is very fun and laid back. Katie is a math teacher and is more uptight and can't stand Mack. They end up renting the same condo in Florida for spring break and get to know each other in a different light. Fun book..

I received this audio book from Netgalley. This book is about 2 teachers (one can't stand theother). They end up at the same apartment over a vacation. Decent book except a lot of f bombs-in my opinion.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much based on mostly the authors note which I really hated if I’m being honest, play the cover and my (incorrect) assumption that Max Monroe was a man. I ended up really liking it though! The characters were lovable and it had some of my favorite tropes (forced proximity, one bed, enemies to lovers, he falls first) which was fun. And the spice was spicingggggg.

I also really liked the narrators. Nothing felt too over the top and the voices they gave each other were much less insufferable than a lot of audiobooks I read.

Best Frenemies was a funny and enjoyable enemies to friends to lovers workplace romance. I loved Katie and Mac's journey from workplace rivals, to sort of friends, to lovers. When they ended up in the same condo for spring break I *knew* we (and they) were going to be in for a good time. I appreciated the trademark Max Monroe humor and cameos by characters from previous books and other series. It was nice seeing Katie grow to be able to be more relaxed and free, while Mac was able to be serious when necessary and step up to the plate and take charge. I was delighted when I realized that CJ Bloom was one of the narrators! I've loved her in other books and had previously enjoyed her narration of Accidental Attachment! I had never listened to anything narrated by Alexander Cendese before and in the beginning I didn't feel like his narration fit Mac, but as I kept listening he grew on me and I knew he was the right guy for the job. The only things I really struggled with in this audiobook were Cendese's voices for the side characters, Katie's hatred of the name "Katie Cat" but total complacency when Mac called her babe, and some of school aspects of the story. Overall I really enjoyed this one and am so pumped to listen to or read the next installment when it releases!

Thank you Netgalley for the audio arc!

This was a fun time. Katy is a math teacher and can't stand her neighbor teacher, music teacher, Mack. All she wants to do is go to Destin, Florida for spring break and drink her nice wine away from the chaos of New York. Unfortunately, a mix-up with the website where she booked the house leads to Mack also staying at the house. They end up agreeing to spend the week together and Mack is determined to get Katy to like him. After Katy cuts her foot on a seashell at the beach, Mack takes care of her, even under the influence of morphine, she realizes that the line between hate and love is a lot smaller than she thought.

Mack was such a golden retriever, but sometimes he was a little over the top. Same with the comedy of this. There were some moments that could have been more serious, but they were over the top with the comedic aspects. I still had a great time with this though!

My first book by Max Monroe and I enjoyed it!
Witty humor, fun shenanigans, moments of chuckles.
If you’re looking for a quick, funny read, this will do the trick.

I think the narrators did a great job. I like that Alexander, male narrator, had a quirky tone- almost comical. Didn’t love his feminine voice though.

Thanks NetGalley for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The narration: CJ Bloom did a great job reading as Katie. Alexander Cendese, on the other hand, read waaay too quickly, like a kid trying to rush through the paragraph they have to read in front of the class. It just wasn't enjoyable and switching between the two paces was jarring.

The story: It did a good job with the enemies-to-lover trope but I'm just never in love with the goodie-two-shoes FMC. Overall the story didn't hold my attention the whole time and I didn't like that, in order for the two main characters to start to connect, heavy medication was required. The spice was nice, though.

4.5. This has a lot of funny moments. Right from the start! Hero and heroine Started off not liking each other.
Great build up to a sweet and funny romance. Really fun side characters. I enjoy this writing duo's books. RomCom is life. I love CJ Bloom's narration & getting more and more acquainted with Alexander Cendese.

Definitely not my kind of listening escape. The audiobook was a disappointment for me . I did like the dual narration but not thrilled with the content.
