Thank you to netgalley for advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I received this as an audiobook to listen to. The storyline was very cute and I was excited to see what was going to happen. However, the narrator is terrible. The entire book just sounds like one big run on sentence. She doesn’t pause or stop ANYWHERE when telling the story and there is sbsplutely zero inflection or change in her voice when reading the different characters dialogue. There was also no differentiation between the characters voices and narrating the story.
I unfortunately could not subject myself to 9 more hours of this to finish the book.
I’m giving 1 star for a did not finish, due to terrible narrator.
Will and Cat’s story is a love story that takes place over decades. They may be from two different world’s but the one thing they always have in common is that they can’t find anyone else who they love the way they love each other. A lot of romances feel like unrealistic. They happen quickly or happen under very unlikely circumstances. This isn’t one of them. Will and Cat seem like humans. They make mistakes and look for easier paths. I think some readers will love the feeling that this could be a real story while others will miss the escapism of a story not full of the details that make everyday life hard. I struggled a bit with how often Will and Cat were unhappy. I tend to prefer a little more escapism in a read. However regardless this is a heartwarming story of young love turning into forever love that I think lots of people will adore!
I listened to the audiobook version of this title and the narrator did a great job! Highly recommend
This story extends from the summer of 1983 to to summer of 1999 and follows Cat and Will. Cat's family lives at the marina that Will's family starts going to every summer starting in 1983. They navigate their connection through the years and they find out where they belong.
I really loved listening to this story! The narrator is great; Will and Cat's story has so many ups and downs but it is so worth it in the end!
