I absolutely loved reading these short classic stories with my family and I loved the fact that they were all in one book!! These stories are so timeless and I want to carry on the tradition of sharing them with my family like my grandparents did with me.

The first story was written by Louisa may Alcott and it is about a girl going to her aunts for her Christmas college break and inviting her two good friends and a magical Christmas that results the second one is written by the same person that wrote the Wizard of Oz Frank L Bomb and it’s about a little girl who doesn’t want presents but wants to make a very special Christmas for others and although this one is a bit dated it is still endearing and so much fun to read. The third is by Charles Dickens and like all of his books if you read between the line you see political commentary strewnn throughout the humor of the story. There’s also a spooky Christmas tale by Algernon Blackwood one of my favorite riders but most of the riders in this anthology could be put under my favorite authors they have one by Harriet Beecher stole Lewis Henry the list goes on and on there was only one I had never heard of and enjoyed their story of Christmas independence as well there’s not enough room to put every story in this review just know if you love the Classics or want to get familiar with new classics you should definitely get the Dover anthology of Christmas stories no matter how old your child is no one ever grows out of the spirit and magic of Christmas. I want to thank Dover publications in NetGalley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
This collection of Christmas Stories is just perfect for the holiday season.
Easy to pick up, read one story, and then another (like a bag of potato chips!) Or, read one, set it aside, then read another. They cover the gamut of writers, eras, and topics.
If you seek a book from which to read stories to someone else, this is the one.
Dare I say my favorites are Louisa May Alcott and Willa Cather?
Enjoy.
