A fascinating collection of short vignettes about many of those who have found – and sometimes lost – love in Paris. Figures from history, from the arts, from politics. Passion and betrayal, marriages and illicit affairs, romance and lust. Some surprising couplings, some notorious ones, some secret ones, some more ordinary; familiar names to the not so familiar. A really eclectic choice of lovers and their relationships, spanning many decades. Much to learn, much to wonder at, much to sympathise with. All told with empathy and insight, but always without sensationalism or prurience. I really enjoyed this, reading one a day for some weeks. Great fun.
A good short read and one that was so easy to read I had it finished before I realised it. This is a book about love and about Paris. So if you like those two subjects this is the book for you. It is quirky, it has travel, it has life in Paris and it has love.
A good quick read and I quite enjoyed it. 3 1/2 stars for this one.

Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
This book provides great small snapshots of Paris. It is an easy book to read in small doses. It will be a great read for those who love travel and those who love love.
I received a free copy of, Of Love and Paris, by John Baxter, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is about love and Paris, people who found love erotic or otherwise, and their experiences in Paris. From famous people, to people Ive never heard of and their escapades in Paris. This book was quirky to me, im still on the fence about it though, I like clean romances, and many of these stories are not.
