Thanks Netgalley, author & Atria Books for the ARC.
Two women Amanda & Wendy strangers to each other end up meeting by chance at grievance discussion group with shared / similar tragic personal history of loss of loved ones. They end up bonding quickly over drinks and their past that still haunts them comes tumbling out. Unable to move past their brutal experiences and with perceived lack of justice both women make a pact - kill for each other , so that the men responsible will ultimately meet their deserved fates.
Meanwhile another woman Ruth, alone in her own home gets brutally attacked by a man with piercing blue eyes, her husband Scott is devastated but is trying his best to help his wife recover from this attack. Will they ever be able to catch who's responsible?
Wow what a spin to the Strangers in a Train Story ! Mind-blowing. The story takes off really well right from the beginning and the reader is swept into the whirlwind of story telling. Narrated from key characters in the book , the chapters are short , filled with suspense , intrigue & end with cliffhangers that makes you want turn pages faster.
I like to put my detective cap on while I read such suspense thrillers and managed to guess a couple of the big twists , but just when I would go -Aha! I knew it ! The author managed to pull the rug from underneath me , he was always 10 steps ahead and brought in more twists which had me gasp in surprise!
Where there some far fetched moments ? Yes . But the way it's narrated & fast paced , it's very entertaining and enjoyable that I did not care much for the little things.
Drop all the books in your TBR & read this already !
The style of story telling reminded me of Closer by David Ellis, if you liked that you'll like this one.
Do I even need to say ? It's a 5 🌟 read !
This is the first book from this author from me and I am definitely going to read the backlists & looking forward to more new releases from him.

This book…I don’t even know where to start. KILL FOR ME, KILL FOR YOU was a tense, fast-paced, psychological, and filled with twists and turns. I could not put it down. Cavanagh’s brilliant storytelling is only made so much better by the characters he has created within these pages.
From the opening chapters, you are in it with these characters. Ruth and Amanda have been through traumatic events, and they are struggling to survive in every way they can. Their lives seem to be running parallel with each other and never overlap. Early on, as the reader, I was hoping they would collide so they could support each other. What I got was one wild ride filled with deception, murder, and a shocking ending I still am processing.
This story shows the best and the worst of humanity. It expertly explores the pain and damage of dealing with a loss can have on a person. It pushes the limits of what someone might do and how a mental break colors one’s outlook. All the while, maintaining the heart of the characters while letting them go through the emotions they need to.
KILL FOR ME, KILL FOR YOU is an amazing thriller. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Audiobook Note: This audiobook was perfection. Narrator, Stephanie Cannon, did an exemplary job of bringing to life not only the characters but the story as well. Her inflection was spot on and the pace was just right. Having the opportunity to listen to as well as read this book was a gift.

What a ride! PSA: this is a smart, twisted, tense psychological thriller, so for the best experience, go in as blindly as possible.
Amanda's family was destroyed by her daughter's murder. Seeking revenge, she encounters the equally traumatized Wendy in a support group, and much like in the referenced book/movie "Strangers on a train", the two women form a plan - "if you kill for me, I will kill for you". Elsewhere in New York City, Ruth is home alone when she is brutally attacked by an intruder, barely surviving. Broken and traumatized, she struggles to regain some sense of normalcy, but with her attacker on the loose, can she ever feel safe again?
I already knew this much about the book's content from the synopsis, so I wasn't surprised by those developments. Thankfully, they are not dragged out in the book, but happen rather quickly, and once the stage is set accordingly, the story takes off from there on a wild, thrilling ride.
The chapters in the book alternate between the two storylines and are written in such a way that it is hard to put the book down - every chapter seemingly ending on a cliffhanger that leaves you breathless. Not surprisingly, I flew through the book. While I had no idea where it was all going at first, the first twist about halfway through the book was obvious, and I was beginning to have my suspicions about the next big reveal around the same time. I could not, however, have guessed the final, heart-stopping climax. What I liked most was that the book was very well-written, so it not only kept you on your toes, but the characters were believable, and there was depth to it that I did not expect from a thriller. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.
I’ve loved this author since his first book The Defense. This book, kill for me kill for you, did not disappoint. I absolutely loved it and devoured it in a day and a half (stinking life chores getting in the way of reading a good book). The story is fairly fast paced, the characters are interesting, and the storyline and plot, chefs kiss. Definitely going to recommend this one to every one I see.

Two women who have suffered incomprehensible pain form a friendship and agree to help each other with the revenge they each have been seeking in order to move on. The title will tell you what they have in mind!
This gripping book had one twist after another. Even though I had my suspicions about some things, it ended up being so much more! This one will take you through the streets of New York, with multiple POV with an ending that I didn’t expect and really liked! I actually binged this book as it moved along quickly and companion read with the audio so I could keep going all day!

Thank you, Atria Books and NetGalley, for my eARC. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
I really enjoyed Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh. This is my first Cavanagh book and I wasn't sure what to expect going into it, but I was hooked from the beginning and devoured it.
It is written in multiple POVs, and though we don't know it at first, there are a few unreliable narrators -- both of these things are a few of my favorite literary devices.
The plot was so fun to go along with -- trying to figure out who this Wendy woman was, trying to figure out why she was setting up Amanda and why she wanted this random man dead. The plot twist at the end was even better!
I can't wait to read more from Steve Cavanagh and I highly recommend Kill for Me, Kill for You. If you like thrillers, mysteries, and unreliable narrators, this one is definitely for you!

Five stars for a thriller in the year of our lord 2024, who is she??
If you, like me, love a thriller that is truly gripping from page one and never really lets up, I think you should pick this one up! I loved the "Strangers on a Train" premise of two people who do not know each other agreeing to kill someone in the other person's life to avoid getting caught - with a twist, of course (I've seen a lot of comparisons to THE KIND WORTH KILLING, but it reminded me more of THE FAVOR).
While I did see the twists/reveals coming, it did not take away my enjoyment of the book at all - if anything, it was so satisfying to see everything play out the way I was envisioning it. Overall, I just had a great time with this one, and think it's a perfect, bingeable read.
Thank you to NetGalley + Atria books for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!

2.5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well dammit. Here I am - a definite outlier on this one!
I really wanted to like Cavanagh’s new book: Kill For Me Kill For You. The title alone had me clicking the request button immediately. There are so many positive reviews for this book and I couldn’t wait to jump in! The premise sounded too good miss.
Two women, total strangers, meet by chance over drinks. They quickly realize they have a lot in common and devise a plan to get revenge against the two men who destroyed their families. Sounds exciting to me! I love a good revenge story. Unfortunately, this was not it.
Totally unrealistic plot with unlikable characters (who didn’t seem very smart) made this one a real drag for me to read. You have to suspend A LOT of disbelief. Very dark and graphic as well - which is fine if it’s entertaining.
I can’t say much more without spoilers, but the end was not good. It was a huge miss for me!
Bumped up 1/2 star for some cool twists and short chapters!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for my advanced copy to read and review.

I was hooked on this from the first page. To the point I looked up the author’s other work and found he was the writer for the Eddie Flynn series. Looking back at the review I left for Th1rt3en, I said I was not a fan of this author. Well, as it turns out, I actually am!
I couldn’t put this down. Finished it in a day and a half because it was so compelling that I just wanted to keep reading. I saw one of the twists coming and didn’t really like the last twist but I still loved the ride. 4.5 stars.

My Thoughts:
Starting out by saying this is my favorite thriller so far this year
We start by meeting two different women who by chance one night meet and start talking suddenly they find out they’ve both have had horrific events that changed them and their families forever. But as they talked the more they come up with a plan to get revenge on the men who change their lives forever.
This story had me turning pages and up all night. I kept thinking I figured it out only to find I didn’t. If you like thrillers this is a great one. See if you can figure it out faster than I did. This is my third book by Steve Cavanagh he is now a auto author for me
Thank you netgalley and Steve Cavanagh and Atria Books for letting me read this

For me, it was Kill for Me, Kill for You. Whoa. It is a dual story of a woman brutally attacked in her home and determined to find the assailant and another woman whose daughter was killed and she too is determined to find the assailant. Guys, this book was bonkers, bordering on absurd. It just kept taking turns that were absolutely bananas. Did I stop reading? No. No, I did not. I had to see where it was all going and how it tied together. I do appreciate a few hints dropped along the way that actually made me wonder if they were typos or editing mistakes. They weren’t. They were clues that made sense at the end. This was a wild ride and I am a little queasy from it.

Ooh this was a good one! I think it took me about halfway through the book to fully appreciate it--until that point, it reads more as a domestic suspense, when I was anticipating a pacey thriller--but soon as that point happened, the rest flew by at a breakneck pace. Love love loved the ode to Strangers on a Train, and was pleasantly surprised by the twists Cavanagh threw into the mix.
Recommend for lovers of domestic suspense and golden-age Hitchcock mysteries.
Very grateful to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

This was fun and unbelievable but that’s okay because I simply could not stop turning pages. The perfect palette cleanser of a book or something to throw in your beach bag this summer. I would continue to read everything Cavanagh puts out!

One of my most anticipated reads for March! I read Thirteen by Cavanagh about two years ago and loved the twists and turns in the author’s storytelling. When I saw that Cavanagh had published a new standalone mystery/thriller, I knew it wouldn’t disappoint. Thank you Atria Books for the ARC!
The plot behind Kill For Me, Kill For You is inspired by the movie Strangers on a Train and the novel of the same title it was adapted from. Amanda is still reeling from profound loss when she meets Wendy, whose rage has been simmering for years. Both women want vengeance, and they hatch a perfect plan to kill each other’s targets. Across the city, Ruth is attacked in a home invasion and though she survives, her sense of security does not.
As the stories of these three women spun wildly to a fever pitch, I was white-knuckled along for the ride. I started and finished this book in about a day and could not get enough! Some of the twists were expected once I got a hang for the story, but other ones took my breath away. Parts of the story may be a little far fetched, but this is fiction y’all! I do caution readers about the content of the book, including some violent (but not too graphic) scenes and one scene involving a suicide.
Overall I really had fun reading and listening to this book and am delighted that it met my high expectations. I definitely recommend this one!

✨RATING: 4⭐️
✨REVIEW: Thank you NetGalley for an eARC of this just in time for me to realize I had ordered from BOTM AND audible 🤗 can’t have too many copies of a good book, right? And that’s just what this was! I was immediately riveted with the storyline of these women. Two meet over drinks and decide to kill for each other so they wouldn’t be linked to the man, while on the other side of town a woman is attacked in her own home. Parts of this was predictable, but only when the author wanted to reveal that twist. The ending still made me wish there was more!! I felt as though I had to “digest” the ending before being able to post this review. And after all, it still captivated me and was one of my fastest reads this year!! I had to dock a star because personally I wanted more 🤭
✨PROS: multi-POV, short chapters (ALWAYS a win in my book!) and twisty!

This was my first experience with Steve Cavanagh’s work, although he’s definitely been on my TBR. In this fresh take on Strangers on a Train, Cavanagh explores the lengths people will go to to get closure after loss and trauma. I read this in a single day because I could not put it down. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This was the perfect thriller to binge read! The premise was so interesting, and while I'm not too familiar with Hitchcock's movies, except for Psycho, I knew this was going to be a good one, Amanda and Wendy meet for drinks at a bar after meeting at a grief support group. After many drinks, they agree to exact revenge for each other and take down the men who had ruined each other's lives. Elsewhere, Ruth's apartment is broken into and she is attacked while her husband is not at home. Anything more about the plot would give it away. This book starts off fast paced and stays that way throughout. I love thrillers that are engaging, and this book had me turning the pages and grabbing the audiobook from my library so I wouldn't have to stop reading.
The twists and turns throughout the book are done really well! I read a lot of thrillers and I find that I am usually able to guess at least some of the twists, but there were definitely some surprises with this book! I liked how the reveals were done and I thought the shock value was there without overdoing it. There is a good amount of suspense that builds throughout the book and sets the stage for the ending. I liked all the different POVs (I think there are four in total) and I liked that each provided a different perspective to the story. If you're looking for a fast paced thriller that will keep you entertained throughout, definitely add this one to your TBR! I would definitely recommend it and will be reading more from Cavanagh in the future!

This is, by far, one of my favorite books I’ve read all year. The twist is incredible, and the author ties all threads together with ease and skill.

WOW!! Kill for Me, Kill for You sure was a wildly fun Strangers-on-a-Train trope ride. I can easily see this being one of my favourite thrillers of the year. Lots of twists I didn't see coming! Thank you for the opportunity to read this e-galley.

This was a fun, fast read that I wanted to keep picking it up. At times the dialogue felt inauthentic and the characters didn’t always feel consistent. Specifically, I felt like the main character Ruth was two different characters based on how she responded and acted in the different scenarios. I also didn’t love how it all came together in the end and I felt absolutely no connection to the police officers. All that to say, the story was engaging and I didn’t find it predictable so I enjoyed it. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.
