WOW! This book was so good and I binged it in one afternoon! Once I started, I could not stop. Kill For Me, Kill For You gives Strangers On A Train vibes and I loved it! There were so many good twists and turns and I loved how there were multiple POVs, which I feel made this story so dynamic.

When Amanda and Wendy meet by chance, they discover they have a lot in common. After talking over drinks, they come up with a plan to get revenge on the men who destroyed their lives. At the same time, Ruth is attacked by a man with blue eyes who disappears after the encounter. With the blue-eyed stranger still out there, will she ever feel safe again?

MUST READ

If you are looking for your next binge in one sitting book, this is for you.  If you are looking for a book that accidentally keeps you up until 3am because you just can't stop, this is for you.  If you want a book where you FINALLY do not guess the ending of, THIS IS FOR YOU!

Not going to lie, the story line has me questioning the author’s inner thoughts/sanity, but I think that just makes it all the better.  It is such a unique story that had me on my toes begging for more the entire time.  An absolute must read.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Atria Books for allowing me to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this thriller! I loved the twist on the “Strangers on a Train” concept, the multiple POVs and the way the stories were told. However, I did feel like it was a bit slower than I’d like with longer chapters, and it took me a bit to get into. I was able to guess one of the twists but I didn’t see the final twist coming! Overall, I definitely recommend and I’m excited to read more by Steve Cavanagh!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Summary; One dark evening on New York City’s Upper West Side, two strangers meet by chance. Over drinks, Amanda and Wendy realize they have much in common, especially loneliness and an intense desire for revenge against the men who destroyed their families. As they talk into the night, they come up with the perfect plan: if you kill for me, I’ll kill for you.

In another part of the city, Ruth is home alone when the beautiful brownstone she shares with her husband, Scott, is invaded. She’s attacked by a man with piercing blue eyes, who disappears into the night. Will she ever be able to feel safe again while the blue-eyed stranger is out there?

My thoughts: happy pub day to this fantastic book! It was SO action packed and I just devoured it in a weekend. Totally unique and an absolutely wild ride. Truly can’t recommend this one enough, thank you so much @atriabooks and @atriathrillers ! This one is worthy of all the hype!

Amanda and Wendy meet in a grief support group and then that night over drinks. As the night goes on the two go into the details of the murdered loved ones both have dealt with and the heavy weight of the murderer going free. By the end of the night the two agree to swap murders- what could go wrong?!

I really liked this book! It took inspiration for Strangers on a Train, but had so many twists of its own it did not feel a copy. It is tough to go into detail without giving too much away, but overall I thought the twists were great and I loved the pacing of the story. I love alternating POVs and it was great to try to guess how the stories were going to intertwine. Some of the twists felt a little predictable, but I loved how they played out so I did not mind at all. There was one twist I thought felt too forced, but otherwise I enjoyed the story!

Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was an awesome thriller! It had me hooked from the first chapter. Loved the writing style, and the multiple point of views. I honestly didn't know how all the storylines were connected, and didn't see any of the twists coming, which makes for a great time reading! Will def be recommending this to others.

Wow, what did I just read?! From start ton finish I thought I was smart enough to figure out what was going on and could piece the stories together.

I could not.

The last, dunno, twenty minutes of the book, I kept gasping. Until the very last page. This was so well done. So strangers on a train with a delightful twist.

I had to sit and explain the whole plot to my husband after I finished and my flabbergasted is STILL gasted.

Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train and book it’s based on (written by marvelous Patricia Highsmith) are both my absolute favorites and I’m automatically intrigued by books that use that storytelling tool! Steve Cavanagh took that idea and turned it into something different and intriguing. Considering the amount of thrillers I consume, it is extremely rare that I have no idea which direction the story is heading and on top of that get a few surprises handed to me!

This story was very different to most thrillers I read. I anticipate remembering this plot for quite a while. Some heavy topics, anxiety inducing action scenes, and lots of entertaining twists and turns. I highly recommend this one if you like suspenseful, twisty, dark thrillers!

📚 Multiple POV
📚 Part police procedural
📚 Grief and loss
📚 Suspenseful
📚 Twisty
📚 At times really dark
📚 If you have any potential TW, I recommend checking them!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for gifting me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

If you’ve never seen/read Strangers on a Train, I encourage you to check it out too!

Kill For Me, Kill For You
By: Steve Cavanagh

A very twisty psychological thriller that will have you on edge right to the last page! Just when you think you have people figured out, you get a curve ball.

The plot for this book is the epic “Strangers on a Train”. Wendy and Amanda are strangers. When they meet, they each agree to kill men who have shattered their lives. The characters are believable. You feel sympathy for them and the trauma that has wrecked their lives. Just when you think you know what is going on, the author flips the narrative. This is a well written story, with well developed characters. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This story gripped me from the very first chapter! A five star thriller that was twisty but believable and felt fresh and unique to this genre! I recommend this to everyone who calls themselves a thriller lover or wants a book that will keep you staying up late turning the pages!

Steve Cavanagh's novel "Kill For You Kill For Me" is a brilliant modern take on the classic Hitchcockian plot from "Strangers on a Train". The story follows two parallel plotlines that eventually merge surprisingly and satisfyingly. The first plotline revolves around a dark pact between two individuals who share a thirst for revenge. The second plotline introduces us to Ruth, a woman whose life is turned upside down when a mysterious stranger with piercing blue eyes invades her home.
Cavanagh's narrative is a thrilling rollercoaster of twists and turns, each more unexpected than the last. The clever homage to the original film, as well as the dual plotlines, keeps the reader guessing until the end. Fans of fantasy and the multiverse will especially enjoy this modern twist on a classic story.

Wow! What a wild ride from Steve Cavanaugh in his latest psychological thriller, Kill For Me, Kill For You. This edge-of-your-seat, page turner is told from multiple POVS. It is through these voices that we learn about the trauma and grief of the characters, and how they get through their days of fear and isolation.

This book had my anxiety turned up to 100% from cover to cover. The pacing was perfect and the twists had me gasping out loud. I had the struggle of not being able to put the book down, but also not being able to read it before bed because I didn’t want my heart racing while trying to drift off to sleep. All in all, I read it in 2 days because I had to know how it ended.

There were times that the dialogue of the female characters was not believable and noticeably written by a male author. That being said, it didn’t take too much away from the story. Kill For Me, Kill For You is one I will not be able to get out of my head for a very long time.

Read Kill For Me, Kill For You if you love a good, page-turning, twisty psychological thriller with morally grey characters, revenge stories, and multiple POVS.

I don’t recommend this book for highly sensitive readers, as trigger warnings are plentiful.

4.25 Stars

This a new author for me. The premise of two women who decide they will kill the people who have hurt them for each other is entertaining. Especially since things don't go as planned. This was a slow start for me, but it then picked up. The twists at the end were good. I enjoyed this thriller!

Love Steve Cavanagh's writing! I felt such strong emotions with the characters. Fantastic plot and characters. As always, Steve knows how to add some twists!

Amanda and Wendy meet at a group counseling session in NYC and bond over their tragic losses. Each have lost family members and feel broken and alone. In another part of the city, Ruth is brutally attacked in her home one night while her husband is out, and she worries she will never feel safe again until her blue-eyed attacker is caught or dead. The women all have one thing in common: their deep desire for revenge. Both plan to take matters into their own hands but in a Strangers On a Train twist, each woman agrees to kill the other's target. Only one of the women is not quite all that she seems….

Steve Cavanagh never disappoints. This was utterly gripping from start to finish.I would absolutely read again despite knowing what happens. 5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

I thought this was a fun thriller with some great twists. Would make a good movie/series.

The story mainly focuses on three women. Amanda and Wendy have experienced unimaginable losses and desperately want those responsible to pay for what they have done. They decide to make a "Strangers on a Train"-esque pact: Wendy will kill the person responsible for Amanda's pain, and Amanda will do the same for Wendy. In another story, Ruth is attacked in her home and left for dead. How can she get revenge if she can identify the man responsible?

As these three stories unfold, there were many times that I thought I knew where the tale was headed and I was wrong over and over--happily so. I love it when I am expecting one thing in a thriller and it turns out to be completely different. There are two twists that left me completely reeling.

I found the ending to be a bit over the top, but I can forgive that based on the fact that this is exactly the type of thriller I like to read: one that moves at a fast pace and has things occur that I was not anticipating. If you think this is just a rehash of the same old story, think again! I applaud the author's creativity for taking a trope and turning it on its head.

Like I mentioned above, the tale is very cinematic and I'd love to see it on the screen. If you like suspenseful thrillers, this book is thoroughly entertaining.

This homage to Strangers on a Train was incredibly propulsive, entertaining and oh so page turning! I am a sucker for a book with multiple POVs - the author did a great job of differentiating each voice and really making me as the reader wonder who I could trust and what certain character's true motives were.

I was constantly entertained and surprised throughout the novel - although I guessed a big twist a bit before it happened - I was still invested in how everything was going to unravel and what would happen in the end. This is a must read for any thriller lover! So. Much. Fun!
