There were a lot of things to like about this book. One of them being the twists which I thought were well done and clever. I think the author did a good job making the twists in the book both somewhat shocking but also believeable. The premise of the book while nothing new, still felt orginal because of how the author handled it. There was legitimate reasoning behind getting revenge in the form of murder and one that the reader can empathize with.
Amanda is a strong, grieving widow determined to avenge her daughter's murder and her husband's suicide. Stalking the man whom she believes and the police know is her daughter's kiler, Amanda finds herself in trouble with the law. This leads her to meet Wendy who becomes someone Amanda can not only confide in but who knows exactly what she is going through. Wendy and Amanda strike a friendship and this is where kill for me, kill for you comes into play. It is also where things take a turn and Amanda realizes that maybe Wendy is not someone she can trust.
We also get to meet a woman named Ruth who has been attacked in her home. She narrowly survives but her scars are not only physical but mental as well. She and her husband Scott get into a predicament but how is this connected to Amanda and Wendy?
All the while Dectective Farrow and his partner are working the cases and Amanda and Ruth's lives connect in a way that I think was done really well. Amanda meets a man named Billy and together they work to find out what is actually happening.
I liked this book well enough and I think the author is talented. Trying to figure out how the characters' lives intersected made this a fun and fast-paced read. I did have some issues with it though. The writing at times did feel a little repetitive. The character's could have been fleshed out more. I felt that they were one dimensional at times. In my opinion I never fully felt connected to Amanda or any of the other characters like I should have. I liked the ending but I think there could have been a little more. Some of it felf too neat while other parts of it I wanted to know more about. But this was a good read that took a familar Strangers on a Train plot and made it its own.

Steve Cavanagh offers the finest of page turners and red herrings. He invites readers to explore the human brain dealing with the power of grief and survival.

OH MY GOSH. Kill for Me, Kill for You absolutely blew me away. It was descriptive, but not overly so to the point of being boring. The mixture of perspectives helped carry the story along. And the approximately 8 twists at the end?! (I didn't really count, but there was definitely more than one twist.)
I've already recommended everyone read this book and am anxiously awaiting the physical book in hand when it comes out in the spring!

Wow! This book is quite a ride. It is what I have come to expect from a Steve Cavanagh book! He knocks it out of the park every time. This is like Strangers On a Train, and references that in the story, so the characters and author are not hiding this from the reader. But wow, there are some incredible twists, one that made me gasp out loud.
If you are looking for a thrilling, dark and messed up tale for the autumn….look no further. This is it!
This is already out in the UK but unfortunately is a spring release in the USA. A must for thriller lovers pre-order list!
An absolute 5 stars from me!

Kill for Me, Kill for You is a psychological thriller in the vein of Strangers on A Train with some original twists and turns.
Go in blind--you won’t regret it.
The narrative alternates between two women and a detective. The three relate in more ways than one.
The plot is gripping, the characters are compelling and fascinating, and the two mysteries are intriguing.
There are a few other major twists, one of which was brilliant! The pace is fast-- fueled by tension, suspense, surprises, and drama.
Clever and intricately plotted, this book is a must-read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and Atria Books.

This. Book. I struggled hard with what I wanted to say about this book. The premise is so fascinating and really had me hooked. There was a good amount of twists that kept me reading and guessing what was coming next. But then the end for me was a flop. It felt so rushed and left me with more questions than answers. It was on track to be a 5 star review from me, but the ending killed it for me.

Holy freaking moly, this book is amazing! What a wild ride! I was hooked from the start and read the entire book within a few hours. This starts with two different storylines told through multiple character points of view, which come together perfectly in an explosive, mind-blowing ending.
The story includes the death of children, child predators, suicide, and mental illness which could be triggering for some.
This was my first Steve Cavanagh book and certainly will not be my last.
Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC in return for my voluntary and honest review.

Let me say that I am a huge fan of Steve Cavanagh and have read most of his books. His way of telling a story is very masterful and heart pounding. While reading this particular book, it felt as though the author grabbed my soul and tugged at every piece of my imagination. The book engulfed me and I had no idea what was coming next. There are two stories that the reader is told. One is about Ruth whose home is broken into by an intruder and she notices one particular thing about the man who attacked her, his eyes. They were blue and she wonders if he is still out there possibly hurtling others. Will Ruth ever feel safe in her home again?
The nest story is where the book gets its name from. Two women who have both lost daughters are at a grief counseling session and decide to go for drinks. It is there that Amanda and Wendy realize how their stories are too similar to each others. Someone killed their girls and got away with murder. The police felt there was just not enough to convict the suspects. But, the women devise a plan. They will each kill the other one’s suspect. Can they pull this off without getting caught? And will it bring them the satisfaction of knowing they pulled off the best vigilante justice ever?
The two stories come together with an explosion that I never saw coming, The writing was executed well and the buildup was perfect. The author created very well developed characters and they each have their flaws but the information given by the author brought everything together perfectly. This is one grizzly horror story that will entertain you from the first pge to the last. Only in your worst nightmares will you ever see something like this that grabs ahold of you and does not let go until you wake up.
I promise you will enjoy this book if you love thrillers/horror stories so run and get your copy on release day.

Thank you to NetGalley as well as the author and publisher for giving me a copy of this book in order to give my unbiased and honest review.

Many thanks to @atria, @simonandschuster, and @netgalley for my #gifted copies. Pub date 3/19/24.
Holy crap, this book was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! This one had me on the edge of my seat almost the whole time! The twists had my jaw on the floor on many occasions, and I couldn't guess one thing that was going to happen! I just finished this book an hour ago, and I'm still in shock, and my heart is still racing!
There are two different storylines going on throughout the book. Ruth, home alone, was brutally attacked in her house. She survived but can not shake the feeling that the "blue eye man" is still out there. Amanda's young daughter, Jess, was murdered, and she lost her husband shortly after. There was not enough evidence to charge the man who they knew killed Jess. Amanda meets Naomi at a support group, who also tragically lost her daughter, and the two of them come up with a plan to get revenge.
This book does not come out for a while, but definitely add it to your TBR list and get your pre-orderes in! I can already predict this will be a smash hit!

Let me start by saying that I have become a fan of Mr. Cavanagh recently, specifically with the Eddie Fynn series. I did not realize at the time that I received this ARC that it was a stand alone novel. That is neither here nor there, but it definitely is a stand alone.
The storyline has us following along with several different POV's that as a reader, we are not told how they are connected. I can not say too much about the specific details of the story arc without going into spoilers because this is one of those books where the reader is only learns what is REALLY going on as they move forward in the story. By this I mean that what you THINK you are reading may be one thing, but WHERE or WHEN it is occurring may be something different. This is Mr. Cavanagh's offering of a psychological thriller versus the legal thrillers that I have come to expect from him.
The story itself is interesting, but it isn't original. It is a take on the "Strangers on a Train" concept of two people who meet and then agree to murder the other person's victim - with a twist, well...several twists. While I figured out most of them in advance, there were a couple of twists that I did not expect. Near the end of the book things begin to stray past the point of believability, but for the most part, there is sufficient action and drama occurring that this was easy to overlook.
One thing I do want to compliment. Every so often in books like this, there is that moment when something "clicks" and you think, "OH". Things then slide into place, and you realize exactly HOW the POV's were connected. If done well, that moment is a really good moment in a book - this book had that moment for me.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone.

Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh was a great story. I have read everything Steve Cavanagh has written. This book seems to stray from his typical legal thrillers. I really enjoyed the story, but wish he would stick with legal thrillers. It seems the idea for this book has been done several times. There were definitely some twists and turns I didn't see coming, but the premise has been overdone.
I love Steve Cavanagh as an author and hope he continues with his next book being somehow centered around a courthouse. I received an advance copy of the book for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley.

Great twist and absorbing plot. Really well crafted. Surprises were believable and made sense within the story. Would read more from this author!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
*Thriller / Crime
Intricate and heart racing, from an author who is the “real deal” I am new to discover him but I will be reading his backlist. Phenomenal.
All the characters come together in the most unique way. You will race through this book to learn the connections and discover what is really happening.
The best part: it’s a stand alone novel.

I loved this book the twists were great. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. I felt for all of the main characters. Could not put it down.

Wow! What a read! This was a twisty ride of a story, and while I kind of figured out some of the twists, there were definitely some surprises. It kept me interested from the very beginning. I feel so lucky to have received an advanced copy of this book and encourage anyone to pick it up when it publishes next year!

Congratulations to Kill for Me, Kill for You, for coming in and securing my favorite read of the year so far, knocking out the book that’s been there since January!
I am shook. I’ve been shook since I started this book. I will embarrassingly admit that this is my first Cavanagh book(don’t beat me up please)! This book made me feel things I’ve never felt while reading before.
I see so many people who find their happiness in simply written, easy to read books that cruise shallowly to their end. If you’re one of those people, steer clear of this book. Because in this book you will find so many beautiful synchronicities, in depths so deep you need a headlight and scuba suit. There is immense plot development, while not lacking in character progression. This book has reminded me why I fell in psychological thrillers to begin with.
How far would you go to avenge your child’s murder? Would you go as far as to take a strangers life? This book will push your limits in many ways, and challenge your thinking on what you think you’d do in a life changing situation. Great writing, great pacing, great originality, with twists I could have never seen coming. Do yourself a favor and grab this when it comes out!
FIVE HUGE STARS!!!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Two women meet, both suffering from terrible losses and both wanting revenge. One suggests that they do a Strangers on a Train deal: each will kill the other's enemy, thus hopefully getting away with the perfect murder…
This bonkers page turner is a fast-paced wild ride. I was very intrigued by the Strangers on a Train homage and Steve Cavanagh succeeded in making the story his own.
The chapters are told from different characters’ POV and this keeps the plot moving along. The writing was fine for genre fiction. Some events require a big suspension of disbelief but honestly, do you read thrillers for reality? No. A bit of eye-rolling can be worth the shocking twists. That I did NOT predict!
It is very dark and grisly with plenty of human misery and suffering so beware.

A delightfully twisty take on Strangers On the Train .. Absolutely loved it !
I would like to thank Atria Books & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Excellent! hard to put down. all the characters had interesting points of view, which made it a easy read. Kinda hated to see it end. Possibly sequel ???
thanks NetGalley for advance copy.

Two women meet in a grief support group after their children's murderers have each gone free. They are obsessed with the murderers walking the streets free as can be, and are willing to go to any lengths to avenge the deaths of their daughters. They commit to a murder swap, so they each have a concrete alibi when it happens.
We're introduced to a third woman, who narrowly survived being brutally stabbed in her own home. Her attacker has yet to be found. She's now unable to leave her room in a hotel, terrified the man with blue eyes will find her and kill her.
There's an intersection that I picked up earlier on, but that final twist was off the charts! Steve Cavanagh totally nailed that finish!
Many thanks to Atria Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
