i get an insane amount of second hand embarrassment/anxiety when it comes to reading books like this. when the lies are so developed and so many people have become involved. faking a marriage is one thing… but a pregnancy?!?

‘a not so meet cute’ had a unique storyline and although it took me awhile to get fully immersed into it, i did enjoy it! the commentary between the two mc’s was hilarious especially in the chapters involving dave and ellie and the lamaze/parenting classes huxley and lottie were being dragged to!

thank you to netgalley and sourcebooks bloom books for an e-arc!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!!

I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole way through this book. It’s funny and sweet at the same time. The banter between the MMC and FMC was so fun!! I also will always obsess over a fake dating trope. I can’t wait to read the other two books in the series!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a review. This was pretty much exactly what I expected it to be in that it was a silly and predictable romance. It gives similar vibes to Lucy Score, but a little more outlandish with the storyline.

Lottie has just lost her job and literally runs into Huxley on the street after joking to her sister about going on a walk to meet a rich husband. Huxley needs a fake fiance to close a business deal and Lottie agrees to fulfill that role. It's a common romance trope but gosh it felt pretty ridiculous here. Was the book entertaining? Yes. Will I remember it? Probably not. I might pick up another book by this author if I was looking for a quick read though. Thanks for the opportunity to review it.

Meghan Quinn never disappoints, and I will never get enough of Hux and Lottie. This story is absolutely HILARIOUS> if you are a lover of banter, then you will not be disappointed. by far one of the best romantic comedies around. AND THAT SPICE! Love the new cover so much more than the old couch photo, but maybe that's just me preferring the discreet covers.

One of the funnest romances I’ve read in a while. The interactions were fun, and characters were fun. Skimmed over the love scenes…way too long. Otherwise very enjoyable.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this eARC of A Not So Meet Cute.
Lottie's kind of out of luck. She's just got fired and doesn't know how to solve her unemployment problem. Why shouldn't she just take a stroll through a rich neighbourhood? She just might find the solution to all her worries. And her solution is called Huxley. Cause he lied about being engaged to his non-existing girlfriend. And on top, he's said that they were expecting. So he now has to make sure that the fictional fiancée turns into a real one.
I really loved the fake-dating aspect of this book. Plus, t's a quick and fun read.

I do not know what Meghan puts in her books but I love them so freaking much and this was no exception!! She has such a beautiful way of putting heart, humor and spice in her books. I adored Huxley and Lottie. The fact that they met on a walk and came together in unlikely circumstances both needing each other. The family aspect of them both being close to their siblings is wonderful and then throw in Meghans typical shenanigans that you love...all adds up to a book you won't be able to put down!

I am such a fan of the fake dating trope. Lottie gets fired right before she is to get a promotion at work and needs a fake boyfriend to show her ex-boss ex-bestie that she is doing just fine. Huxley tells a big client that he is engaged and his fiancé is pregnant just like the client's fiancé. When they meet they think they have the best plan. That is until sexy time gets involved and of course chaos ensues. I loved this book. It was so fun and spicy. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

5 stars

I laughed through this whole book; it was so hilarious. When the main characters were not going back and forth with smart, quick, and funny comebacks, it was hot and so steamy. I could not get enough of Huxley and Lottie together, it was magic. The chemistry and relationship were paced so well and had great development. I did find Huxley a little bit too controlling of certain things, I just wanted him to relax a little, but Lottie was happy, and I think she brought a lot of Good out of Huxley and vice versa. This book also has one of my favorite tropes: fake relationships and I really liked how both came out benefiting in this relationship. Not only was the banter great but there were some over the top moments both extremely embarrassing but having each other's backs. Plot was ok but I was really here for the relationship in this book. I really recommend this book, something fun to uplift mood and really just make you happy.
I received an ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.

This was a fun, quick and light-hearted read. Common plot of don't like each other to liking it each. LOL. Thanks for the advanced copy NetGalley. #NetGalley #ANotSoMeetCute

this was such a fun book! Huxley is your typical billionaire CEO that works all the time and doesn’t have any interest in dating, while Lottie is your typical still-finding-herself 28-year-old that is trying to stand on her own feet and not rely on her family’s support anymore. the two of them conveniently need a partner and a fake relationship at the same time, so naturally they strike up a deal to date each other.

I really liked the dynamic and banter between the two of them when they met, up until they actually began their ruse and Huxley started acting like a controlling jerk towards Lottie (which I didn’t care for). I really grew to like the back and forth between Lottie and Huxley in the second half of the book, and some of their interactions were SO funny. that’s when the story became really entertaining and the chemistry between the main characters was outlined very well.

the side characters were also pretty well developed, and I especially liked Kelsey, Lottie’s sister, because she was a voice of reason that balanced Lottie’s impulsivity.
all in all, a really great and easy read to start off the new year!

A fab read, with a nod to Pretty Woman. Lottie and Huxley meet when they both need something from the other, but can it grow to be more.I liked how it was told from both points of view an can't wait for the next book in the series.

Cute and spicy! This one was exactly that. It was an easy read. If you're looking for spicy with an alpha male who has a hidden soft side, this one will make you smile.

Two people who want to help each other and yet have very different motivations.
Hux and Lottie are great together because they don't fool each other, as it's clear from the start that they have an agreement and that no feelings should come into play. (Yes should because how could it be otherwise)

Funny and very entertaining, honest and emotional

Have fun reading for yourself!

I received an early copy and ended up buying the audiobook. With Meghan Quinn’s trademark humor, awkward situations and plenty of romance and steam, Lottie and Huxley’s story is fun and played out perfectly in the narration. I have to admit, Huxley took some time to get me rooting for him but I got there and then enjoyed their bikinis. A nice story a get the audiobook!

One thing I love is finding a new to me author and after reading A Not So Meet Cute, Meghan Quinn has a permanent place on my must read list.

This enemies to (passionate) lovers contemporary romance gave me a serious book hangover.

The interaction between Lottie and Huxley exploded off the page from the moment they met and it never lagged. Their fierce banter that eventually leads to declarations of affection had me laughing.

During one my favorite comments in the book was from Lottie's sister, Kelsey. It's when Kelsey sees one of the dresses Huxley buys Lottie with a, "Oh my god. It has pockets!" Yeah, I've been there, sister. A fabulous dress with pockets ranks high on my list, but I digress.

Meghan has a wonderfully fun voice and I look forward to reading more of her books. Specifically, the one right after this one.
