I found this to be a cute Romcom. Its something you can turn your brain off but still enjoy and understand. I think Meghan Quinn has a unique writing style that cannot be matched.

Pretty woman meets 50 Shades (but less spicy! Don’t worry though - there’s still plenty of fire!). Readers will laugh out loud, blush and root for both characters as they stumble their way through a fake relationship.

Lottie was recently fired from her job, by her toxic best friend, weeks before a big promotion and finds herself . Reeling on what to do next she runs into Huxley Cane, the billionaire commercial developer who also finds himself in a pickle after lying to a prospective business partner about his personal life. The two join forces for their mutual benefit.

At times it follows the Pretty Woman plot a little too closely, but the characters are so fun that it’s easy to forget and get caught up in the story! Reader beware though - it’s easy to detach from reality while getting lost in this one!

I was thrilled when I got approved for an ARC of this read, as I am a big fan of this author's imaginative storytelling. To be honest, I had some reservations when I began reading this one, as her last few works did not quite captivate me as I had hoped. The moment I arrived at chapter ten, a realization struck me: I was completely hooked and didn't want to stop my reading. The awesome and addictive read I know and love from this author was back in my hands! Trust me, you are going to enjoy this one, so grab it now!

Lottie and Huxley kick things off with a misguided approach. The back-and-forth and palpable tension between these two during their contract is absolutely captivating. It was a delight to witness the convoluted efforts they made to uphold their charade. Incredibly entertaining! Be cautious when reading in public, as bursts of laughter might earn you some side-eye. Believe me, that is definitely happening. Additionally, the steamy scenes between these two characters are so fiery that they practically burn through the pages. I enjoy how Lottie's teasing and demanding nature matched Huxley's, and how they brought out the best in each other.

There are numerous things to enjoy in these pages, and I'm already planning to re-read them soon. The last few chapters contained all the elements we hoped for this couple, and it was fantastic. This book combines humor, captivating storytelling, addictive chemistry, and pure entertainment. It comes highly recommended.
(I originally read this in 2022, but I believe the 2023 re-release is better.)

I thank Netgalley and Bloombooks for my free ARC, and happily leave my review.

I have mixed feelings about this book, I want to love it but there is something holding me back. For like 50% of the book Lottie and Huxley are fake engaged but only interact with each other or with the three people who know it’s a fake relationship. The main characters were great but the interactions between the two were frustrating at times. Yes it had some funny dialogues and the steamy scenes were unexpected very steamy.

Another fun and steamy romance from Meghan Quinn. When Lottie and Huxley set out in their fake relationship, tensions were high, but soon I found myself rooting for them to realize the reality of their feelings. Quinn delivers with this page-turner.

I've devoured "A Not So Meet Cute" by Meghan Quinn, and it's another hilarious and steamy romp from this talented author. Quinn has a knack for crafting characters and situations that make you burst into laughter, and this book is no exception.

The meet-cute in this story is anything but traditional. Lottie Gardner, on a mission to make her arch-nemesis jealous, stumbles upon billionaire Huxley Cane in a wealthy Beverly Hills neighborhood. There are no instant sparks, no love at first sight, just a comically awkward collision. But as the plot unfolds, the tension between Lottie and Huxley sizzles and crackles with undeniable chemistry.

The banter between the two is sharp, witty, and realistic. Their interactions are a joy to read, and their journey from antagonism to attraction is both entertaining and steamy. Plus, the inclusion of the Cane brothers adds another layer of fun to the story.

If you're in the mood for a lighthearted, funny, and sexy read that will leave you grinning, "A Not So Meet Cute" is the perfect choice. Meghan Quinn delivers another winner with this book, and I can't wait for what's next in the series.

I don't know how Meghan Quinn does it, but I love every one of her books I've picked up.

Huxley and Lottie's fake dating plan kicks off when he meets her walking around his neighborhood and ends up telling her about his problems too. Their relationship might start as fake, but it isn't long before they realize there's something real between them.

Meghan does an excellent job creating likeable and interesting characters. I love how many of her series have groups of friends who I wish I could be part of, too. Her writing is engaging and full of humor and fun, but it is well balanced with emotional moments both heartbreaking and heartwarming.

Huxley and Lottie made me laugh and smile and I absolutely loved every minute I spent with this book!

FANFUCKINGTASTIC!!

Meghan Quinn has done it again. I seriously could NOT put this book down. I thought about it when I woke up, when I was stopped at the stop light, in between patients and every chance I had to see what transpired between Huxley and Lottie. I finished this book in less than 24 hours. IT WAS THAT GREAT!

I honestly kept waiting for the same old same old rom com spin, but that didn't happen and I'm so thankful for that. This book will remain one of my favorites and I will recommend this book just like I do her other ones.

I was given this book to read my Netgalley for my honest opinion.

This was my favorite out of all the Cane Brother books in this series.

I was just in the mood for a fun read when I picked this book up and a fun wild ride is what I got. I thoroughly enjoyed Lottie and Huxley's story, yes it was some really outrageous situations but I was laughing all the way. It did have a couple slow points, but overall a fun click off your mind and just enjoy kind of read.

Read for:
- Billionaire romance
- Forced proximity
- Rom com
- Spicy scenes
- Hate to love
- Fake engagement

If you like romcoms then you need to read this one. Even though there are many over the top moments that at times were a bit cringe this has so many good tropes. Forced proximity mixed with billionaire romance always is a good combination I loved the art that was put through out the book and would recommend this book for that alone. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series because I'm loving the brothers. Read if you love spicy romcoms with the tropes above.
Thanks to Bloom Books for the arc, the traditionally published paperback comes out November 14th 2023.

Lottie did what every girl dreams they could do. She simply went for a walk and found a billionaire to date. And Huxley couldn’t have been luckier because Lottie is amazing and funny and so charming. This smoking hot fake dating billionaire romance is the ultimate 5 star read!

Megan Quinn never fails to make me laugh out loud with her books. The characters and funny antics that they get up to never fail to put a smile on my face. Pair that with some unbelievably hot tension and spicy scenes, and you have a winner.

A Not So Meet Cute is loosely based on the rom com Pretty Woman, one of my absolute favorites. We have the billionaire trope, along with the face finale that is bound get get the characters in some sticky situations such as a birthing class that goes completely off the rails.

The sparks between Lottie and Huxley is electric. While antagonistic at first, they cannot deny their undeniable chemistry. Their banter is so funny and realistic.

One of my favorite parts about books like this is when there are siblings involved. We get to meet more of the Cane brothers which obviously sets us up for the future books. The interactions between the brothers and Lottie is great and just so fun to read.

Overall, this book was so fun and light hearted. If you are looking for a fun, quick and steamy read that will make you smile and giggle, then please pick this book up!

I literally LAUGH OUT LOUD in Meghan’s romcoms. What a way to meet. If only it was that easy to meet a billionaire, amirite? And honestly pretty woman is my favorite movie so a new version of that - how fun!!! I loved seeing Huxley get protective of her. I just loved how their relationship evolved

Thank you bloom for the copy!

Loved loved loved!!!
I’ve been waiting for this to come out with the illustrations and I’m so excited it’s finally here.
Quinn does a great job combining romcom & spice. Huxley and Lottie are the perfect duo for strangers to lovers. I couldn’t get enough of their banter. The romance between them developed at the perfect pace and the spice was spicy!!!
I was so happy the illustrations were included in this edition because they’re great.
10/10 recommendation!

Liar liar pants on fire!
A contemptuous, contract-breaking, slow burn romance - that they'll both deny.
I liked the story for sure but Lottie was such a brat. Granted, she was screwed over by her boss and supposed friend at the start, but she was a brat from then on. Her brattiness did let up some, or at least became more tolerable.
Huxley was a stone cold cocky businessman that will do anything to land a business deal - hence this crazy charade he gets them into. His facade is straight laced and rigid but he has the softest heart deep down that he doesn't always like to show.
I had a lot of fun reading the crazy story of their fake relationship. It turns out that their fake meet cute was not nearly as cute as their real one.

My first Meghan Quinn book and it won't be my last! This was a really cute fake relationship romance. I did feel that it could've been a tad shorter as it dragged at times.

Thank you so much, NetGalley and Meghan Quinn, for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!
