I love Portia Macintosh’s writing style as it makes the main character feel like a friend. Combine it with a festive story and, for me, you have the perfect book.
This story is great. I loved both Cara and Millsy, but god, I would never invite them to any kind of gathering as they are fun but disastrous. Both families ( except the awful Aunt Mary and some of her clan) are the kind of people I would love to spend time with.
There are great laugh out loud moments and some of those dates are truly awful. Loved the story, loved the ending, hate that I’ve finished it!

Of course I loved it! I love all Portias books!
Filled with constant awe and admiration for how this author has such a high output of books, but manages to keep consistently high quality books.

Another brilliant romcom - this time a sequel. Loved hearing what happened after the happy ever after. (This could also be read as a standalone.) This book revisited Cara and Millsy from The Plus One pact and it was just like visiting old friends.

Romantic comedy with a happy ever after, successfully nailed.

This is a five-star read that you wouldn’t want to break up with. I will be honest and admit that this wasn’t my favourite story by this author, but I still enjoyed it so much. I really liked getting to know everyone in this story, and I think part of the reason I didn’t enjoy it as much as others, was due to the fact that I didn’t know Millsy a well as I hoped I did, until fairly well into the story, I felt like we just touched the surface with him for the first part of the story and didn’t get to grips with him until well into the story. There were so many funny moments, I particularly loved the way that Millsy and Cara get into trouble and help each other out, the seating plan was one of my favourite moments, as it seemed to encapsulate them. I loved the ending, and I was so happy with the story from Iona’s big moment onwards, it just encapsulated the big moments and brought so much joy. If you like your romance with twists then this is the story for you.

I couldn't stop reading this book because Portia Macintosh's writing style is so easy-going and captivating.
The story revolves around Cara and Millsy who were the "fun loving /It-couple" but they broke up. Their families don't know about it yet. So what happens when they are thrown together ? Do the sparks fly again? Do they drift apart? These questions had me scrolling through the book like anything.
The way the authors describes all the characters and the relationship between them is so good!
I would surely recommend this book to someone who loves the Fake-dating trope and family drama.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity for reviewing this ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this arc

I found this to be a cute love story of two people who break up who don’t really want to be broken up and navigate faking being together to finding their way back together. I felt it was a little stretched out but overall great and quick read- finished it in one day.

"The Faking Game" was such a fun and entertaining read! The author's writing style is very engaging and the storyline kept me turning pages. I read it start to finish in one evening because I needed to know how it ended.

Cara and Millsy have always been everyone's favorite couple, which doesn't become an issue until they decide to break up. With a packed social calendar and the holidays around the corner they decide that it would best for everyone to wait to announce their split until after the New Year. After years of being in love and dating it shouldn't be that hard to fake their relationship, right? What could possibly go wrong ...

If you enjoyed reading any of these tropes; forced proximity (only one bed) , fake dating or a love triangle I would recommend adding this book to your TBR. I will definitely be recommending it!

Thank you Portia MacIntosh , Net Galley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an ARC of this book!

Portia MacIntosh's, The Faking Game, is a captivating fake-dating romcom that will leave your heart pounding and aching. This romance follows Cara and Millsy in their journey of fake dating for the Christmas Holiday even though they broke up a year ago, to keep their families spirits up. With high tensions and suspicions will they be able to get through the festive spirit?

I absolutely devoured this book, the romance in this was so cute but sizzling. The tension between them caused by jealousy made their relationship all the better. The few times we did see them alone together were so intense, it showcases their pure relationship and chemistry with each other.

The authors writing style is incredible, the fast pace and high intensity mood she sets makes for a captivating fast read. The plot and narrative were fascinating, the two families combined although high pressured, were mostly sweet. I'm not that big of a fan of love triangles- which this one was, but it did make for a spicy read.

I would definitely recommend reading this if you're in the mood for a fun, festive, fake dating romcom. Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and the author for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
