Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This second in series focuses on one of the characters we met in the first book. The start is a little odd in that Gemma has bought the shop next door from Martin but there was no sign that he wanted to sell up at the end of the first book, and he's not mentioned again until the end of this book. I thought a lot of the plotlines in this book were very predictable so that although the romance is just as good I've rated it one star less.

This book is part of the Cornish Cove series where new characters are introduced and we learn to love. I have admittedly not read any of the other books but look forward to reading them now following this cozy romance. The characters are likeable and fun to read. I also love a good first responder romance with a cozy cafe vibe along as well.

This book focuses on new beginnings, found family, friendship and so much more that are well written and feel genuine. These are very real-world issues that were well written into a fiction book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books who provided me with a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was absolutely thrilled when I heard that there was a second book coming out in this series. I absolutely loved the first, and I couldn’t wait to meet the characters of this charming seaside town again. Having said that, it’s perfectly easy to read this book as a standalone, but why would you when you can have the pleasure of reading both?

In this book we meet Gemma as the main character. She’s a really well developed character, with her own heart-rending issues to deal with. She’s really close to her sister, Lucy, who is another character that I really liked.

I feel that the author has gone from strength to strength with this latest book. It’s a story that’s heart-warming, thought-provoking and utterly fascinating, told with humour and warmth. It has a really authentic feel.

This is a book to just get lost in, to keep you completely enthralled from the first page to the last.

I’m already looking forward to book number three in the series. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

I really enjoyed this second book of the series, finding the protagonist more developed and the plot more interesting, too. I like books that see characters starting over and, whilst Gemma has been running her mother’s café for years, this is like a second chance for her as the story opens with Gemma commencing the renovations on the business. Gemma is finally stepping out of her late mother’s shadow and making the business what Gemma wants it to be – taking risks by expanding into the property next door and acknowledging it as being a bistro that is at the heart of the community.

Although the plot is a bit predictable, I still found it enjoyable and loved the friendship that developed between Gemma and Jude. Furthermore, I thought Occy’s character was brilliant: she is a loveable whirlwind and I could vividly picture her teenage angst versus the little girl she still is within her heart. She provides a breath of fresh air and energy to Gemma’s business and it was evident they would make a great team. Indeed, they are like mother and daughter working together, an echo of what it used to be like for Gemma.

Nash still throws some curveballs into the story: I did not predict the role that Rachel’s character would play and I was intrigued about the secret Gemma keeps. On the other hand, I appreciated how familiar characters from the first book made an appearance, as well as watching the close friendship that Gemma has with her sister.

Sometimes Gemma was a bit dense for my liking and I thought there were clues that she really could have spotted. However, I still liked her as a main character and admired her strength towards being an independent business owner. Gemma has not had the easiest of lives and I think Nash handles Gemma’s background with the sensitivity it needed. Gemma has come out of her experiences as a stronger character and I think this endeared her even further to me.

This book was more enjoyable than the first and I am glad I continued with this series. I love the seaside setting and the community is evidently as strong as ever. The character list is growing so I am curious to know who will take centre stage in the next book.

With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a great escape. I admired the character of Gemma and everything she stood for. She was a likeable, sympathetic character who was family-orientated, hardworking and although a little cautious of change, she appears determined to make progress and not stay in one place.

There was the slow burn romance between Jude and Gemma I really enjoyed, but also other storylines involving love, family, mystery and identity that brought the book more fully to life and ultimately made it more enjoyable. There was a brief moment where I worried that I would be disappointed in Gemma's choices, but the writer did not let me down!

This was my first read from Kim Nash but it won't be my last!

What a great find. Intermingling of all types of characters, with the head character discussing her attributes and faults. It was a little psychological lesson as well. I loved this book as it made you become thoughtful of your own situations. She was very mindful to bring out the thoughts that many wouldn’t think of or mention. A fiction book with a twist.

This is the second book in the series set in the stunning coast of Cornwall. Which the author has captured beautifully making me feel right there in the story. I mean who doesn’t love Cornwall?!

In this story we meet Gemma who runs her late mother’s cafe. When an opportunity comes along for her to extent it. Knowing she will make her proud she jumps at the chance.

This book is a winner for me telling a story about friendship and romance. With characters that you will fall in love with. It is a perfect summers read that will have you smiling from start to finish.

I absolutely love the authors style of writing. It is heartwarming and realistic the characters are relatable making the story magical. It is a stunning story and a joy to read.

I literally can’t wait for the next book to come out…..without a shadow of a doubt this is a 5 star read.

Thank you to Rachel for a copy and for inviting me to take part on the tour.

An excellent read telling the story of Gemma who has moved back to her home town of Driftwood Bay after the awful breakup of her marriage. She runs the cafe that her late mother ran and gets a chance to extend it. Her sister Lucy is her best friend. She meets a lovely man called Jude and we see the highs and lows of their friendship.

In this delightful sequel to the first book in the series, Gemma, who runs a seafront café, takes center stage. With support from her sister Lucy and friends Meredith and Clem, Gemma embarks on expanding her café, all while grappling with memories of happier times with her mother. The story is rich with well-developed characters and heartwarming relationships, including a lovely romance and the endearing bond between Gemma and a troubled teenager named Occy. Gemma's relatable struggles and the perfect balance of heartbreak and warmth make for an emotionally engaging read. With twists, surprises, and plenty of laughter, this book is beautifully written and leaves readers eagerly anticipating more adventures in Driftwood Bay.

Didn't realise that this was part of a series but it can be read as a standalone. Where needed the previous book is recapped so you have an idea of what happened. This was a cute romance story. I liked the characters and it was an easy read.

This book is like a warm embrace! The second instalment in the Cornish Love Series offers a beautiful setting and delightful characters. Gemma, the protagonist, makes a life-altering business decision, while her sister and husband share transformative news. The village welcomes a new Fire Safety officer and his daughter, adding to the excitement in Gemma's life. Amidst it all, friends and family rally around her for support. The story unfolds brilliantly, and anticipation builds for the next chapter in this engaging series.

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

This is a gorgeous book, which is the 2nd book in the Driftwood Bay series, of which the 1st book was fantastic too! In this story, we are with Gemma, who is feeling sad from losing her Mum and from her broken marriage. She is busy running the local cafe, and one day she hires a girl called Occy, who she becomes friends with. She also meets her Dad Jude, and they become close friends and maybe a bit more! The three of them help to heal each others hearts, and before long, they cannot be without each other. Of course, there is a bit of drama, and some emotional moments, but this is a lovely, heartwarming story which made me smile. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

I adore Kim Nash. A Kim Nash book is always comforting, a rollercoaster and filled with so much love.

I was so happy to return to the Bay. I loved this setting in the previous book, I loved it even more in this book. Nash just makes it so familiar and as if it’s home.

This is just a gorgeous book to read from beginning to end. Once I started this book, I quickly became unwilling to put this down. This resulted in me devouring this book in just one sitting.

Nash writes beautifully and I love the friendships and strength that fill the pages of this one. Gemma has been a great character, she’s felt real and relatable. I was definitely rooting for her and Mr Fireman.

This has been the perfect read. I love how a Kim Nash read is like a big comfort hug. There is just nothing to dislike about this one.
