Great book and series!! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, Action, intrigue, mystery, revenge, murder, serial killer, great who done it, great plot twist, and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me
I love this series ! Madison and Nate are such great characters and I love following their story through every book in this series! Madison is called to a very gruesome crime seen where a family of four is murdered and the daughter is missing. This storyline has so many layers to it that you are so captivated throughout the whole book. There is a huge spine tilling ending to this book! Absolutely love this series and this book. Look forward to the next book in the series. As long as there is a Detective Madison Harper book it will be on my list to read!
I purposely read this book slowly as I did not want it to end. Picking up soon after the previous book. Madison Harper is struggling with the the death of her father, along with Owen (her son) moving away for college. With this in the background, she is called upon to investigate the murder of a woman, man, and young children in an abandoned home. The story is told in two time frames - the current investigation and one that occurred 15 years ago, before Madison was on the force. With Nate and Brody (some of the best supporting characters around) by her side, they sort through the case and work to solve the murder and determine if there's a link to one 15 years ago. Absolutely fantastic!!! A great big thank you to Bookouture for an advanced reader of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
Madison Harper…Lost Creek…murder of a family…intrigue…this author has written a cannot put down novel. Try to discern the ending. Not easily done. Who are the victims? Madison has to identify them and find their killer. Is she up to the task? This is a quick read. Thank you Netgalley.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the approval to read and review the latest Detective Madison Harper book.
We return to Lost Creek to find Madison has a murder mystery to solve. This book is told over two timelines - one is 15 years ago with a young Mike Bowers and one told in the present. It is full of twists and turns with a few red herrings thrown in to distract you from learning who the Family are and who are the killer(s). It made me what to learn - how, why, who, what, when and where this all happened. It's a fast paced plot and well written descriptions of the characters and locations. I love seeing how Madison and Nate relate to each other. Hope there is a book 7 as they still have more adventures to go on. I highly recommend this book.
Madison is trying to cope with the fact that she will be separated from her son when he leaves for college.
She is distracted when a family is killed in a rundown house, and Madison finds out that a toddler is missing. The adults have been bludgeoned and are unrecognizable, to get ahead in the case, the family have to be identified.
She is furious when she finds that her partner is not pulling his weight in the case, and seems uninterested and making many mistakes.
Madison finds out that there was a case fifteen years before where the occupants reported a missing child, and jailed a man who insisted he was innocent.
Another winner from Wendy Dranfield! Full of excitement, gory detail, and twists and turns and red herrings. I would never have guessed the outcome of this thrilling Police procedural!
This book certainly kept me awake, reading 'just one more chapter'.
I can recommend.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another great Wendy Dranfield novel. Madison and Nate have a murder to solve. A murder that started many years ago. They have to tie the present murder with the one in the past. I loved this book and this series.
