This book was not for me. I found the first 20% really disjointed and had a hard time following the story. There were lots of nuances in the story that were not well described, it created a poor reading experience for me.

This is the first time reading this author and I really enjoyed the book. I really liked the idea of meshing technology with " magic" it made for an interesting story. The idea of a person living for hundreds, if not, millions of years through the use of magic. The Emperor " is a twisted individual who torments people in hideous ways for his own enjoyment. Living for as long as he has one must grow bored of the mundane and has to use other means for enjoyment. I enjoyed the book and encourage others to read it.
