I'm not certain this is a title we will add to our library collection, but after the popularity and success of Lore Olympus, it may be worth a shot. The dialogue is choppy at times, but the illustrations are crisp and easy to follow.

Feisty heroine Rose Choi is fast approaching 30 without having accomplished much and cut adrift after a breakup with her boyfriend. A chance to housesit for a friend and take on her housekeeping/cooking job puts her on a collision course with her friend's employer, Yoon Daniel, a reclusive 23 year old billionaire and social media magnate.

Age Matters is not without charm, and it's nice to see 20-30 something adult romantic protagonists in the familiar enemies-to-lovers formula in this Webtoon collection from Enjelicious. It's entirely pleasant and follows a familiar trajectory with art and humor similar to other web-to-professional comics projects that were clearly produced under a crunch (I'm looking at you, Romantic Killer) but it's low-stakes storytelling doesn't suggest the emotional resonance or comic genius of say, Akiko Higashimura's Tokyo Tarareba Girls, which has a similar plot (and even character designs).

Still, it's a fun and lighthearted normal-girl-meets-fussy-billionaire romance that had good comic beats, with stronger pacing towards the end of the first volume. Light and fun, and easy to recommend for someone looking for some romantic escapism.

Opions are my own and do not reflect the institution I work for.

Thank you so much to Netgalley for a free copy of this manga in exchange for an honest review!

I really loved this graphic novel and one of my favorites when it first came out on webtoons. I am so glad that more people are able to read this!

I love age gap romance novels and this also has an office romance vibe to it and not to mention it started off with the characters having a quite a misunderstanding and being "enemies"

This is such a cute read! i hope people enjoy it as much as I did!

Looking forward for more reads!

Rose Choi and Daniel Yoon.
This is one of my favorite webtoons! I’m a sucker for any office romance, especially one between a CEO and their secretary. This story made me laugh, swoon, and wish I was dating a CEO! One of my favorite things is how they are able to find trust and open up to each other. The progression of Daniel slowly letting his walls down is everything. I also can’t wait to learn more about the stories of the side characters! Enjelicious’s art style is my favorite!!! It captures the characters emotions in a way that is so funny and entertaining for me to read & I can’t wait to see more.

I would like to thank Enjelicious, Webtoon Unscrolled, and Netgalley for this ARC.

I read Age Matters back when it was still digital and really enjoyed it. Rose is desperate to get away and desperate to change her life. She ends up as a cleaning assistant to a very recalcitrant, yet very hot man years younger than herself and sparks (kind of literally) fly. The pacing in Age Matters is good if you are a fan of a slow burn. I myself am not too sold on the idea that the main character's age is relevant to anything, but that narrative is dropped kind of quickly. All the characters are pretty good and the story is fun. I'm excited this is getting a physical release.

I am reading this through WebToons, but it was wonderful to get a refresher on how the story started. I was so happy to see that this wonderful world would now be available to those who are not aware of this online resource!

This story is so much fun! The characters are so relatable.

Rose Choi finds herself in a predicament as she approaches her 30th birthday. Recently single after a messy relationship ends, no career path, and no kids, she finds herself struggling to get back on her feet. An opportunity opens up for her when her friend needs Rose to fill in for her job as housekeeper for a mysterious boss. The young CEO Mr. Yoon only communicates via walkie-talkie, but the job includes an apartment and stipend and Rose finds herself taking over as a chef and maid for her faceless boss.

The two suddenly find themselves intertwined, between the light banter and two lost personalities, they quickly realize they may trust each other more as they spend time together. What happens when Rose is offered a full-time job? Can they make their differences work?

I enjoyed the enemies to friends that this first volume depicted. It left me wanting to know more about Mr. Yoon and Roses' relationship. Where will they end up? How will they grow as characters? I'll definitely read the next installment. Art was your classic webtoon style, adding to the comedic effect. Perfect for Kdrama lovers. 4/5 stars.

I was not a fan of this manga - it didn't seem to have a clear goal in mind. There were so many ideas and nothing seemed very focused, not the mention the writing came across very strange sometimes too. There almost seemed like an error in the writing, because there were 2 sets of pages with the same words but different pictures. Not sure if this was intentional or not, and I think it happened a second time later but the dialogue wasn't word for word like it was previously.

This was a fun story about Age Mattering. Rose is a strong female character that is on the cusp of turning 30 and realizing that her life is not what where she wants it to be. She has left her job and is crashing at a friend’s place. Her friend has her help out her boss and then disappears with her boyfriend on a 3 month trip. Rose doesn’t recognize the boss as an important businessman. He is wary of crowds and bugs and doesn’t have time for himself. She steps in to care for him when he falls sick. I thought it was a refreshing look at slightly older characters. I can’t wait to read the next volume.

Age Matters by Enjelicious will be released on January 30, 2024. Wattpad Webtoon Book Group provided an early galley for review.

I was not familiar with this fourteen-part webtoon from 2018 or this creator (who has done several romance-themed web comics like this one) previously. The colors and the cover image really caught my eye and drew me in.

This comes across as a standard manga, with the art style shifting from panel to panel depending upon what is needed. The story is straightforward and follows several traditional romance tropes. It does take awhile to unfold with the volume ending on a cliffhanger note. Fans of the format and the genre will certainly enjoy it.

Age Matters was a pretty cute graphic novel. It definitely took me a bit to get into it. I was confused for quite a few pages and felt like it was jumping all over a bit. I didn't know what was going on. But give it a bit and you will fall into the story!

I enjoyed the graphics. There's some minor tension building I liked. I thought the hero was definitely a jerk - and while I can be okay with that, I prefer other types of jerkiness than talking down to her like a servant and making her carry all his bags. I know we'll see a change over the course of the story.

I am not sure if I read it in the wrong format, but the water coloring over every single page did make it extremely hard to impossible to even read some scenes so that was frustrating. This won't be an issue in the final product, and I do understand pirating problems, but it just took me out of the story quite a bit especially because it was every page.

Overall I would try more from this one! 3.5 rounded up.

I adore this webtoon! I read the first few episodes on the Webtoon app and was super excited to get the first volume from Netgalley. The romance in this story is AMAZING! Forbidden coworker romance is always a fun trope, and the characters are genuinely likeable. You can't help but root for them and for their potential relationship. The art style is gorgeous, and the plot moves fast enough to keep your interest but not too fast to be confusing. I can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy and (hopefully) the second volume.

Thank you to Webtoon Unscrolled and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this graphic novel. This reminds me of the business proposal mixed with the series called The Maid at my House but with its own twist. I enjoyed the characters and the plot, even with its predictability, and the art style is pretty as well. However, I think if you're looking for the best thing ever, it's not that, BUT I am really excited to continue to see what happens to continue the story and buy the physical copies. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4-4.5 out of 5 stars

Age Matters is a captivating webtoon that holds a special place in my heart. I discovered it back in 2020, and it played a significant role in turning me into a devoted webtoon enthusiast now. I was so excited to learn that it's getting a physical book publication!

The art in Age Matters is undeniably stunning. The illustrations are meticulously detailed, and I could spend all day staring at its beauty. One of the standout features of the story is the age gap romance, which provides a fresh twist to a classic trope. It's not often that we see an older female lead in such relationships, and this adds a unique layer of complexity to the narrative. Rose Choi, the female lead, is a character I deeply admire. Her determination, work ethic, and relatable struggles make her a character many readers, including myself, can connect with.

Daniel Yoon, the male lead, complements Rose's character perfectly. His patience and kindness are truly endearing, and the dynamic between the two leads is both heartwarming and humorous. Their evolving relationship keeps you eagerly turning the pages.

In conclusion, Age Matters is a fantastic webtoon that seamlessly combines a beautiful art style, a fresh perspective on romance, and a well-developed cast of characters. Whether you're a fan of age gap romances or simply seeking an engaging and heartwarming story, I highly recommend giving this series a read. I'm so excited to be able to start collecting the physical copies!

This was a fun time! I liked watched the characters interact, and the ending had me very intrigued for the next volume. I was confused at the start but as the story went on I quickly got into it, and it was a very quick read. The art was beautiful and I liked the colour coded speech bubbles. Definitely a series I would like to continue!

The reading experience on the netgalley app was not great. There’s a word mark across every page which makes it hard to read, plus certain text messages weren’t showing up, they were just boxes. I read the majority of this on WEBTOON as that was a better experience.

⭐️⭐️.5

Another fun graphic novel with beautiful artwork. However I did find myself a little confused in places and felt the story was kind of disjointed at times. It didn’t feel like there was much progression in the storyline which meant this took me longer to read than I’d anticipated. However I did enjoy the characters and their relationship and would consider reading more to see where the story goes next.

I'm conflicted on this one. It started off very random and I was a bit confused but it grew on me as I continued reading. The relationships between the characters fell flat in the beginning. By the end we see some growth in Rose and Daniel's relationship as their interactions with each other make up the majority of the story. Some of the side characters felt superfluous and probably could have been introduced later on, perhaps in the next volume. I liked the artwork and that it was easy to differentiate between who was talking through the different colored text bubbles. The characters start off pretty unlikable: Rose comes off as a needy, moping, people pleaser and Daniel is very rude but you can tell some of it is due to anxiety/stress. Their personalities didn't change that much but they do grow a bit and become more palatable. Overall, it was an okay story and I'm sure it will improve with each new volume since the first is always the hardest to set up and introduce the characters.

Thank you NetGalley & Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, WEBTOON Unscrolled for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You have to stick with this one to see character arc and have a chance to care about the characters. Age Matters deals with the many layers of adulting. One is having a hard time finding their place, the other found quick success. Neither handles their situation well. A unique series of events finds their paths crossing as Rose finds herself cooking and cleaning for a mysterious, successful reclus. She never sees him - his attempt to keep his identity secret - until he falls ill. Looking forward to vol 2.

I read this entire series on WEBTOON. I was obsessed with it, I 100% believe it’ll be popular once it is released. It’s an amazing story and I just can’t speak highly enough about it!
