I enjoyed book. This author, once again, gave us a book that was both hilarious, steamy, fascinating and fast-paced. The book itself had strong character development, and it also included all the tension and push and pull that I love to read in a romance book. Rachel surprised me with the turn of this book, and just the overall growth that the characters had. I found myself to be immersed in the females point of you more and just enjoyed her story the most but I also enjoyed the male that she was paired with.

Fun book. I liked the story and most of the characters. Travis was a big hit for me. I see that this book is part of a series, so I'll check out the rest of those too.

The story was great, but damn the comedic relief (aka Grandma) is an absolutely ridiculous old lady. I enjoyed the character, but she's not a believeable character. Other than that, the book was great.

Rachel Van Dyken has done it again-a funny romance/comedy with delightful characters!
The main characters are Beth and Jace who become reacquainted at a wedding, not that they can remember!
The storyline follows the ups and downs of being in the public eye and struggling with emotions, will Beth and Jace be open to new beginnings or dig in to insecurities.
I had a good giggle reading this book and will be looking for more from this author.

Huge thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Love Strategy is not my first book from this author, so I was excited to read it. This was a fun take on the second-chance fake-dating trope. Entertaining and witty with well-developed and relatable characters. The chemistry between the characters felt organic and palpable. Overall a great read for someone looking for a light romantic comedy.

This is a captivating romance novel that tells the story of Beth and Jace, who reunite at a friend's wedding and have a one-night stand that they both struggle to remember. The plot thickens as Jace is a prominent politician who cannot afford to be seen messing around with just anyone. The book is well-written and engaging, with a good mix of humour, drama, and steamy romance. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the chemistry between Beth and Jace is palpable. The book also explores themes of second chances, forgiveness, and the power of true love. Overall, this book is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance novels who enjoy a good love story with a bit of a twist.

A little too zany at times - like the author was trying to throw every funny thing into this story. I liked both Jace and Beth, but a lot of this story could have been fixed with a little communication.

Grandma Nadine was a ton of fun, though

This wasn't my favorite book from this author but I'm looking forward to reading more of her books. This was a good read, I just thought I would love it more. There were some funny parts, but for a re-released title I thought it would be more polished.

This is a re-release of the 2015 The Dare. Beth's life is a little boring and Jace is a politician on the fast track to success. They had a few encounters in high school, but Jace put a stop to anything more. Now they meet again at a wedding and have a little too much alcohol. They wake up not remembering much but there are some very public repercussions for their night of passion.

Enter Grandma Nadine ( I think I read years ago this character is based on the author's grandmother) to the rescue. She arranges a little escape to a tropical paradise where the two really get to know each other. It bothered me that Jace was so quick to end things a second time- (first was in high school, second after their one night stand) what is his problem?

The story has a lot of funny moments, and it's truly a rom/com. Not sure why it's being released again.

This was a cute, fun story! It was a fun, different take on second-chance and fake-dating trope since Beth had a crush on Jace in high school (kinda second-chance-ish), and then they reunite for a one-night stand at a friends wedding years later. I thought Beth and Jace were cute and fun together, especially since Jace is so strict with his personal life being nonexistent so it doesn't interfere with his political campaign. I love that they are able to rediscover their feelings for one another, and get to re-know one another in their secluded little (forced) giveaway. Ans Grandma Nadine's meddling ways were such a fun addition to the story! Parts of the story felt a little drawn out-- there are alot of inner monologues-- that felt unnecessary.
Overall, this is a fun, sweet story perfect if you're looking for an easy romcom to feel good :)
Thank you for the ARC!!!

I need to get The Bet and The Wager after devouring The Love Strategy.
Hell, I want to read every book on her backlist.
This book was a 5 star read for me. It has everything I love in a book!
All in all, I think The Love Strategy is an engaging, entertaining romance that will appeal to lovers of young adult and new adult romance titles!

This was such an entertaining read. I laughed throughout the whole story. Beth and Jace met at her high school prom. Jace didn’t go to the same school as her, but he was taking his cousin who went there. They shared a dance and a kiss. Then he ran out. Beth knows it’s him when she’s at her sisters wedding and he’s a groomsman. And when they wake up together Jace remembers prom. But is pretty sure that Beth doesn’t remember him. But they soon get the chance to get to know each other agian when the family goes to Hawaii, trying to avoid negative publicity for Jace when it’s been leaked that he’s in the hotel with a prostitute. This is a hilarious story that will grab you from the first page.

The Love Strategy by Rachel Van Dyken is a re-release of her previously released book The Dare.

Our main characters, Beth and Jace, who knew each other in high school have a one night stand after a wedding that they both struggle to remember and is a huge threat to Jace, who is now a politician and getting caught in a compromising position will mean nothing but bad news.

Coming to their rescue is Grandma Nadine - who is a hilarious addition to the story and a delightful character. She arranges their escape from the hotel and keeps popping up with hijinks and hilarity.

They end up going away together to hide from the press and then discover (rediscover?) their feelings for each other.

I laughed out loud several times and related to both Beth and Jace's vulnerability with each other. This was a fun read and I'm going to go find the rest of the series!

This book was given to me by NetGalley and the publisher as an ARC for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

I first read this series back in 2015! This is a new release of The Dare the final book from that series. Rachel Van Dyken is a great writer and you will love Beth and Jace. Beth is a nerd and Jace is a Senator from Oregon. Beth is looking for love and Jace is hiding from it. This is a pretty quick read and really enjoyable. Loved the epilogue giving us a snip five years later into all the couples from this series. Well done.

This is not my first book from this author, so I was excited to read it. It was a good read and I think this book would be perfect for anyone looking for a comedy, romance type of story with likable characters and a meddling grandma. Grandma Nadine has a knack for matchmaking, and she's focused her attention on Beth and Jace. After all, she has already made two perfect matches so what's one more when she feels like her work isn't done yet. The main characters were likable but for some reason, it was hard for me to really connect with them and I'm not sure why. There was a lot of inner monologues with the two main characters, almost to the point where it was a bit too much. However, this is the type of story that will have you laughing out loud, and it has a sweet ending. This wasn't my favorite book from this author but I'm looking forward to reading more of her books. This was a good read, I just thought I would love it more.

Beth is reunited with her high school crush, Jace, at a friend's wedding and has a one-night fling. However, Jace is a famous politician and can't afford to be seen messing with just anyone. They are whisked away to a secluded island to avoid further media attention....

A funny LOL rom-com. Beth and Jace are hilarious. Love their chemistry. I can't stop laughing while reading this book. A fun, light rom-com. Really enjoy it.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
